Cross regulation is a key technical issue of single-inductor multiple-output (SIMO) DC-DC converters. This paper investigates the cross regulation in single-inductor dual-output (SIDO) Buck converters with continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation. The expressions of the DC voltage gain, control to the output transfer function, cross regulation transfer function, cross coupled transfer function and impedance transfer function of the converter are presented by the time averaging equivalent circuit approach. A small signal model of a SIDO CCM Buck converter is built to analyze this cross regulation. The laws of cross regulation with respect to various load conditions are investigated. Simulation and experiment results verify the theoretical analysis. This study will be helpful for converter design to reduce the cross regulation. In addition, a control strategy to reduce cross regulation is performed.
This paper presents a distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) algorithm based on the reference voltage perturbation (RVP) method for the PV modules of a series PV string. The proposed RVP-DMPPT algorithm is developed to accurately track the maximum power point (MPP) for each PV module operating under all atmospheric conditions with a reduced hardware overhead. To study the influence of parameters such as the controller reference voltage ($V_{ref}$) and PV current ($I_{pv}$) on the PV string voltage, a small signal model of a unidirectional differential power processing (DPP) based PV-Bus architecture is developed. The steady state and dynamic performances of the proposed RVP DMPPT algorithm and small signal model of the unidirectional DPP based PV-Bus architecture are demonstrated with simulations and experimental results. The accuracy of the RVP DMPPT algorithm is demonstrated by obtaining a tracking efficiency of 99.4% from the experiment.
This paper introduces a simple grid-voltage-sensorless control scheme for single-phase power factor correction (PFC) boost converters. The grid voltage waveform is obtained based on the dc output voltage, the switching duty ratio, and a phase-lead compensator. In addition, the duty ratio feedback is utilized to obtain the unity input power factor and the zero harmonic current. The proposed control scheme is designed and mathematically analyzed based on a small-signal model of PFC boost converters. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, several simulations and experiments are carried out in two applications: an industrial power system with a 60 Hz grid frequency and a commercial aircraft application with a 400 Hz grid frequency.
A systematic procedure for the elements of system matrix in multimachine systems with loads is suggested for the small-signal stability studies. Synchronous machines are represented by either a two-axis model or classical model. The interrelationship of submatrices of system matrix is investigated. Once elements of one submatrix are determined, they can be used to calculate the elements of the other submatrix. It is illustrated for three machine and nine bus multimachine systems with constant impedance loads, constant MVA load, constant current and power factors.
Typical anti-jamming technologies based on array antennas, Space Time Adaptive Process (STAP) & Space Frequency Adaptive Process (SFAP), are very effective algorithms to perform nulling and beamforming. However, it does not perform equally well for all types of jamming signals. If the anti-jamming algorithm is not optimized for each signal type, anti-jamming performance deteriorates and the operation stability of the system become worse by unnecessary computation. Therefore, jamming classification technique is required to obtain optimal anti-jamming performance. Machine learning, which has recently been in the spotlight, can be considered to classify jamming signal. In general, performing supervised learning for classification requires a huge amount of data and new learning for unfamiliar signal. In the case of jamming signal classification, it is difficult to obtain large amount of data because outdoor jamming signal reception environment is difficult to configure and the signal type of attacker is unknown. Therefore, this paper proposes few-shot jamming signal classification technique using meta-learning and transfer-learning to train the model using a small amount of data. A training dataset is constructed by anti-jamming algorithm input data within the GNSS receiver when jamming signals are applied. For meta-learning, Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) algorithm with a general Convolution Neural Networks (CNN) model is used, and the same CNN model is used for transfer-learning. They are trained through episodic training using training datasets on developed our Python-based simulator. The results show both algorithms can be trained with less data and immediately respond to new signal types. Also, the performances of two algorithms are compared to determine which algorithm is more suitable for classifying jamming signals.
To analyze and verify the performance of a pulse radar without the real target data, there is a need to make the simulated signal which is similar to the received signal of the real target. In this paper, a method of the received signal generation for the pulse radar is proposed to solve the above need. The user-made scenarios are used to model the fast and small target and the clutter data based on the ground environment. These data are transformed into the electric signal using the proposed method. The efficiency of the proposed method is proved by comparing the signal of a field test with the simulated signal.
Eigenvalue perturbation theory of augmented system matrix(AMEP) is a useful tool in the analysis and design of large scale power systems. This paper describes the application results of AMEP algorithm with respect to all controller parameter of KEPCO systems. AMEP for interarea and local mode can be used for turning controller parameter, and verifying system data and linear model of controller.
In this study, granting the optimal loan limit on SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) loans of financial institutions was proposed using the traditional newsvendor model. This study was the first domestic case study that applied the newsvendor model that was mainly used to calculate the optimum order quantity under some uncertain demands to the calculation of the loan limit (debt ceiling) of institutions. The method presented in this study made it possible to calculate the loan limit (debt ceiling) to maximize the revenue of a financial institution using probability functions, applied the newsvendor model setting the order volume of merchandise goods as the loan product order volume of the financial institution, and proposed, through the analysis of empirical data, the availability of additional loan to the borrower and the reduction of the debt ceiling and a management method for the recovery of the borrower who could not generate profit. In addition, the profit based loan money management model presented in this study also demonstrated that it also contributed to some extent to the prediction of the bankruptcy of the borrowing SME (Small and Medium Enterprise), as well as the calculation of the loan limit based on profit, by deriving the result values that the borrowing SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) actually went through bankruptcy at later times once the model had generated a signal of loan recovery for them during the validation of empirical data. accordingly, The method presented in this study suggested a methodology to generated a signal of loan recovery to reduce the losses by the bankruptcy.
