Manufacture of Cement-Bonded Particleboards from Korean Pine and Larch by Curing of Supercritical CO2 Fluid

  • Cement-bonded particleboard is being used as outdoor siding material all over the world, because this composite particularly bears a light weight, high resistance against fire, decay, and crack by cyclic freezing and thawing, anti-shock property, and strength enhancement. Construction systems are currently changing into a frame-building style and wooden houses are being constructed with prefabrication type. Therefore, they require a more durability at outdoor-exposed sides. In this study, the cement hydration property for Korean pine particle, Japanese larch particle and face- and middle layer particles (designated as PB particle below) used in Korean particleboard-manufacturing company was investigated, and the rapid manufacturing characteristics of cement-bonded particleboard by supercritical $CO_2$ curing was evaluated. Korean pine flour showed a good hydration property, however, larch flour showed a bad one. PB particle had a better hydration property than larch flour. The addition of $Na_2SiO_3$ indicated a negative effect on hydration, however, $MgCl_2$ had a positive one. Curing by supercritical $CO_2$ fluid gave a conspicuous enhancement in the performances of cement-bonded particleboards compared to conventional curing. $MgCl_2$ 3%-added PB particle had the highest properties, and $MgCl_2$ 1%-added Korean pine particle had the second class with the conditions of cement/wood ratio of 2.7, a small fraction-screened particle and supercritical curing. On the contrary, the composition of non-hammermilled or large fraction-screened particle at cement/wood ratio of 2.2 was poorer. Also, the feasibility for actual use of 3%-added, small PB particle-screened fraction was greatest of all the conventional curing treatments. Relative superiority of supercritical curing vs. conventional curing at dimensional stability was not so apparent as in strength properties. Through the thermogravimetric analysis, it was ascertained that the peak of a component $CaCO_3$ was highest, and the two weak peaks of calcium silicate hydrate and ettringite and $Ca(OH)_2$ were present in supercritical treatment. Accordingly, it was inferred that the increased formation of carbonates in board contributes to strength enhancement.

2중 단동비닐하우스의 태양열 축열이용 효과 (Solar Energy Storage Effectiveness on Double Layered Single Span Plastic Greenhouse)

  • This study was carried out in order to reduce the amount of underground water which is used in the double layered single span plastic greenhouse for retaining heat. For this research, two plastic green houses of the double layered single span plastic greenhouse were installed. There was equipped of internal small tunnel for keeping warm air in the interior of the house. Then the internal small tunnel for keeping warm air was fitted with PVC duct of 50 cm in diameter filled with subsurface water. The surplus solar energy in the greenhouse was stored in the water in the PVC duct. Four FCUs (Fan Coil Unit), which has the capacity of 8,000 kcal per hour, were installed in the middle of the house, and a circulation motor in heat storage water tank was operated from 10:30 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. in order to circulate water between the water tank and the FCUs. Consequently about 5 degrees celsius could be maintained in the interior of the internal small tunnel for keeping warm air with the external temperature of lower than minus 5 degrees celsius. It appeared that the alteration of an internal temperature of the house was flexible depending on the sunlight during daytime. To prevent the water freezing, mixing antifreezing liquid in the water or operating FCU continuously was needed. Also, in order to use the surplus solar thermal energy on plastic green house of water curtain system efficiently, storing the surplus heat during daytime simultaneously finding a method of using water curtain systematic underground water happened to be important. As a result of this research, when the house's interior temperature is below zero the operation of FCU appeared to be impossible. Considering the amount of water used in the house with water-curtain-heating system is 150~200 ton per day, using the system mentioned in this research showed that reducing the underground water more than 80% in order to maintain the internal temperature as the level of 5 degree celsius at the extreme temperature of minus 5 degrees celsius.

3D맵핑을 이용한 문화재 지정구역 경관관리기법 연구 (A Study on Landscape Management Techniques of Cultural Heritage Designated Area Using 3D Mapping Method)

  • 본 연구는 역사마을 및 명승과 같은 면적문화재의 경관관리를 위한 분석의 기초가 되는 가시분석모델의 구축을 위해 수행되었다. DEM을 이용한 가시권 분석결과와 소형 UAV를 통해 추출된 3D맵핑 데이터를 기반으로 하는 DSM의 가시권 분석결과를 비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 소형 UAV를 이용하여 취득된 디지털데이터로부터 GSD(Ground Sample Distance) 2cm급의 정사영상 자료 구축 및 DSM을 생성하여 RTK 측량결과를 기준으로 추출데이터에 대한 정확도를 검토한 결과 약 6.5cm 이내의 정확도를 확인하였다. 수치지형도에 건축물의 높이를 적용한 수치표고모델(DEM: $1m{\times}m$)과 소형 UAV를 이용한 수치표면모델(DSM: $20cm{\times}20cm$)의 가시권 분석 자료를 비교한 결과 DEM을 이용한 가시권 분석결과에 비해 가시 영역이 좁고 세밀하게 나타났으며, 가시권 분석결과를 현지사진과 비교한 결과 DSM을 이용한 가시권 분석이 담장, 수목, 하우스 등과 같은 구조물 등이 지형데이터에 반영되어 현실에 가까운 가시권 분석이 가능한 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 3D맵핑 기법을 이용한 가시분석모델은 3D 스캐너와 같은 정밀실측 장비보다 상대적으로 신속하고 저렴한 소형 UAV를 활용하여 필요에 따라 즉각적으로 데이터의 구축을 통해 수시로 변하고 있는 경관의 정보를 효율적으로 취득함으로써 면적문화재의 경관평가 등의 보존관리를 위한 합리적인 분석결과를 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

중대재해 예방을 위한 소규모 공동주택 시스템비계 안전시설물 개선 특허기술 개발 및 활용 (Developement and Application of Patent Technology for the Improvement of Scaffolding Safety Facilities in Small-scale Muliti-Family Housing System for the Prevention of Severe Disasters)

  • 고용노동부 공문(최근 건설업 사망사고 발생 현황 안내 및 안전관리 철저 당부, 2022.4.4.)에 따르면, 중대재해처벌법 시행(2022.1.27.) 이후 2022.3.31.까지 공사금액 50억원 이상 건설공사에서 17건의 사망사고가 발생하여 18명이 사망했다. 공사규모로 보면 50억~120억원 7건, 120억~800억원 5건, 800억원이상 5건이 발생했다. 사망사고 발생원인은 떨어짐 9건(50%), 맞음 5건(28%), 무너짐 2건(11%), 끼임 1건(5%), 익사 1건(5%)으로 조사됐다. 사망사고의 대부분을 차지하는 떨어짐과 맞음으로 인한 사망사고를 줄이기 위해서는 안전시설물을 강화할 필요가 있으며, 추락방지망·개구부·안전난간이 완벽하게 설치되면 대부분의 떨어짐과 맞음 사고는 예방 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 고에서는 소규모 공동주택인 도시형생활주택신축현장의 떨어짐과 맞음 사고를 예방하기 위해서 안전시설물 개선을 통한 특허기술 개발과 활용 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

중국(中國) 연변지구(延邊地區) 조선족(朝鮮族)마을의 구성(構成) 룡정시 지신향 장재촌을 대상으로 (Tie Spatial Structure of Ch'ang-ts'ai-ts'un Village A Case Study on a Rural Village of Korean Immigrants in Yen-pien Area of China)

  • Ch'ang-Ts'al-Ts'un is a rural Village near Lung-jing City in Yen-pien Korean Autonomous Province of China. It was formed about 100 years ago by Korean Immigrants and has been developed maintaing the characteristics of traditional Korean architecture. Therefore investigating the spatial structure of this village is a meanigful work to confirm and explore one branch of Korean architecture. This study aims at analyzing the spatial structure of the village using direct data collected from the field work and indirect data from books and maps. The field work consists of on-the-site survey of the village layout, interviews of residents, observation notes and photography. Ch'ang-Ts'ai-Ts'un is located 360-370 m high above the sea level and at the side of a long valley. A river flows in the middle of the valley and relatively flat arable land exists at the both sides of the river. The location of the village related to the surrounding river and mountains suggests that the site of the village was chosen according to Feng-Shui, Chinese and Korean traditional architectural theory. The main direction of the house layouts is South-western. The village has been growing gradually until today. Therefore it is meaningful to make the village layout before Liberation(1946 A.D.) because the characteristics of Korean architecture prevailed more in that period. The area of the previous village is limited to the west side of the creek. New houses were later added to the east of the creek, forming a 'New Village'. Previously the village was composed of 3 small villages: Up, Middle and Down. Also the main access roads connecting the village with the neighboring villages were penetrating the village transversely. Presently the main access road comes to the village longitudinally from the main highway located in front of the village. The retrospective layout shows the existence of well-formed Territory, Places and Axes, thus suggesting a coherent Micro-cosmos. The boundary of imaginery territory perceived by present residents could be defined by linking conspicous outside places sorrounding the village such as Five-mountains, Front-mountain, Shin-dong village, Standing-rock, Rear-mountain and Myong-dong village. Inside the territory there are also the important places such as Bus-stop, Memorial tower of patriots, Road-maitenance building and the village itself. And inside it 5 transverse and 1 longitudinal axes exist in the form of river, roads and mountains. The perceived spatial structure of the village formed by Places, Axes and Territory is geometrical and well-balanced and suggests this village is fit for human settlement. The administrative area of the village is about 738 ha, 27 % of which is cultivated land and the rest is mountain area. Initially the village and surrounndings were covered with natural forest But the trees have been gradually cut down for building and warning houses, resulting in the present barren and artificial landscape with bare mountains and cultivated land. At present the area of the village occupied by houses is wedge-shaped, 600 m wide and 220 m deep in its maximum. The total area of the village is $122,175m^{2}$. The area and the rate of each sub-division arc as follow. 116 house-lots $91,465m^{2}$ (74.9 %) Land for public buildings and shops $2,980m^{2}$ (2.4 %) Roads $17,106m^{2}$ (14.0 %) Creek $1,356m^{2}$ (1.1 %) Vacant spaces and others $9,268m^{2}$ (7.6 %) TOTAL $122,175m^{2}$ (100.0 %) Each lot is fenced around with vertical wooden pannels 1.5-1.8 m high and each house is located to the backside of the lot. The open space of a lot is sub-divided into three areas using the same wooden fence: Front yard, Back yard and Access area. Front and back yards are generally used for crop-cultivation, the custom of which is rare in Korea. The number of lots is 116 and the average size of area is $694.7m^{2}$. Outdoor spaces in the village such as roads, vacant spaces, front yard of the cultural hall, front yard of shops and spacse around the creek are good 'behavioral settings' frequently used by residents for play, chatting, drinking and movie-watching. The road system of the village is net-shaped, having T-junctions in intersections. The road could be graded to 4 categories according to their functions: Access roads, Inner trunk roads, Connecting roads and Culs-de-sac. The total length of the road inside the village is 3,709 m and the average width is 4.6 m. The main direction of the road in the village is NNE-SSE and ESE-WNW, crossing with right angles. Conclusively, the spatial structure of Ch'ang-Ts'ai-Ts'un village consists of various components in different dimensions and these components form a coherent structure in each dimension. Therefore the village has a proper spatial structure meaningful and appropriate for human living.

대전광역시 양축농가의 축분뇨 관리 실태 및 VOCs 농도 조사 (Investigation on the Management of Livestock Wastes and VOCs Concentration of Farms in Daejeon Area)

  • 본 조사는 대전광역시 양축농가의 축사 형태, 그리고 축분 및 축사주위의 악취물질의 농도를 측정하기 위하여 실시하였다. 한우사는 조사 농가 중 대부분(94.5%)이 톱밥 또는 왕겨를 축사 바닥에 깔아주고 있어서 분뇨가 축사 밖으로 유출되지 않았다. 돈사의 경우는 대부분이 슬러리식을 채택하고 있었으나 아직도 일부 농가는 바닥 충전재를 사용하고 있었으며 축사로부터의 오물 유출가능성은 없다고 판단되었다. 계사의 경우, 육계사는 전부 바닥 깔짚을 사용하고 있었고 산란계사는 스크레퍼를 이용하고 있었으며, 축사로부터의 오염물의 유출 가능성은 없다고 판단된다. 사슴사는 12개소 중 3개 소는 바닥 충전재를 사용하고 있었으며, 10개소는 재래식으로 관리되고 있었으며, 지붕설치 여부와 관련하여 볼 때 7개소는 우천 시 오물의 유출이 우려된다고 하겠다. 생분의 암모니아, 아민류 및 휘발성지방산 함량은 부숙분에 비하여 전반적으로 낮았으며, 함황 물질인 황화수소, 메틸메르캅탄 및 에틸메르 캅탄의 농도는 부숙분에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 축사내의 악취성분은 돈사와 육계사에서 암모니아와 황화수소가 미량 검출되었을 뿐 다른 성분은 검출한계 이하였다. 축사 외 부지경계선에서의 악취성분은 검출되지 않았다. 그리고 악취감 소용 사료첨가제에 대한 축산농가의 반응은 전반적으로 부정적으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 사실로 미루어 볼 때 축산 시설로부터의 오염물질 유출은 우려할 수준은 아니라고 생각되지만, 조사 시점이 동절기인 것을 감안하면 좀 더 세심한 배려가 있어야 할 것으로 생각된다. 그리고 악취저감 사료첨가제에 대해서는 제조기준을 설정할 필요가 있다고 생각된다.

닭 도계공정 중의 미생물 증감 추이 (The Incidence of Microorganisms during the Slaughtering Process of Chicken)

  • 본 연구는 도계장 규모 및 계절별로 도계공정 단계에 따른 미생물학적 오염도와 변화추이를 조사하기 위하여 수행되었다. 도계 5단계 즉, 내장 적출 전, 내장 적출 후, 최종세척 후, 본냉각 후 그리고 냉장실에서 닭 표면에 대한 미생물학적 분석을 위하여 멸균시료봉지를 이용한 전체 닭에 대한 시료를 채취하였다. 그 결과 여름철 시료의 경우 소규모 도계장의 일반세균수는 본 냉각 후와 냉장실에서 $10^4$ CFU/mL로서 $10^{5}$ CFU/mL 수준의 균수를 보인 대규모 도축장에 비하여 낮게 검출이 되었다. 그렇지만 대장균 검사 결과는 반대로 소규모 도계장($10^2$-$^4$ CFU/mL)이 대규모 도계장($10^{0-2}$ CFU/mL)보다 2 log갈이 높은 경향을 보여 주었다. 가을철과 겨울철 시료에서는 대규모 도계장과 소규모 도계장의 일반세균수는 내장 적출 후 $10^{5}$ CHU/mL 수준이고, 그리고 본 냉각 후와 냉장실에서는 $10^4$ CFU/mL 수준으로 비슷한 측정값을 보여주었다. 대장균수의 측정값에 있어서는 소규모 도계장과 대규모 도계장이 모두 냉장실에서 가을철에는 $10^2$ CFU/mL수준, 그리고 겨울철에는 $10^3$ CFU/mL 수준으로 비슷한 측정값을 보 여주었다. 또한 가을철과 겨울철 시료에 있어서 냉각공정 단계의 냉각 말기 냉각수 미생물 검사 결과는 소규모 도계장이 대규모 도계장보다 낮은 일반세균수 값을 보여주었다. 봄철 시료에 있어서 소규모 도계장은 본 냉각 후 도계과정을 제외하곤 모든 도계공정 단계에서 대규모 도계장보다 높은 일반 세균수의 측정값을 보여주었다. 봄철 시료의 냉각말기의 냉각수 일반세균수는 소규모 도계장이 대규모 도계장보다 높은 측정값을 보여주었다.

1939년 조선일보 주최 조선주택설계도안 현상모집에 관한 고찰 (A Research on Housing Plan Competitions Promoted by Daily Cho-Sun Company in Japanese Colonial Period)

  • This study examines the details and characteristics of prizewinning plans of Cho-Sun housing plan competition promoted by Daily Cho-Sun Company during Japanese colonial period. The main features of Cho-Sun housing plan competition were that the competition held with an application of popular newspaper readers and a judging committee was composed of only Korean architects, especially Park, Gil-Ryong as the president of the board of examiners. Cho-Sun housing plan competition put ideological factors for the improvement of living as like advancing to the cultured(modem) life, respecting for family life, respecting for privacy of family members and so on. First of all, the competition suggested the direction of the improvement of dwelling spaces which focused on making harmonious home life. This study found common characteristics of prizewinning plans of Cho-Sun housing plan competition as the result. First, Cho-Sun housing plan competition introduced a centralized house plan as a model of the improvement of small-sized houses. Second, architectural orders of western or Japanese style mingled with ones of korean traditional style in prizewinning plans as entrance hall, western style reception room(parlour), maid's room, bathroom for example. And a manner of seating using chairs was brought into the style of living which would be assumed in the prizewinning plans. Third, traditional way of composing dwelling spaces was maintained, receiving the characteristics of dwelling spaces of japanese style simultaneously, which central corridor was put at the heart of house for improving arrangement of rooms and flow lines. Fourth, lavatory and bathroom were placed inside of the house.

저수조 설치 펌프직송방식의 수도직결 증압방식 전환에 관한 에너지절약성 및 환경성 검토 (Energy-Saving and Environmental Evaluation of Water Supply System on Replacing Water Storage Installed Booster Pump System by Direct Connecting Booster Pump System)

  • Currently water supply system with water storage is generally applied except for small building such as single-family houses, and water supply system on replacing water storage installed system by direct connecting system has been increasing because of sanitary and energy-saving aspects. The purpose of this study is to evaluate energy-saving and environmental efficiency of direct connecting booster pump system in comparison with the water storage installed system. The architectural condition of the evaluation subject is ten-story apartment house in which sixty households live. To calculate the power consumption of the pump, the volume of water supply was determined from existing data and other data, such as head, efficiency of the pump, was the value used for general application in design office. The power consumption of the water supply pump for one day was 8.5 kWh for direct connecting booster pump system, and 22.5 kWh for water storage installed system, and the former system showed energy savings of 62% compared to the latter system. Reduced power consumption also leads to reduction of $CO_2$ emission. According to the criteria presented in the Korea Energy Management Corporation, reducing the 2,410 kg $CO_2$ emission is possible per year.

대구시 기반시설양호 주택지의 주민의식과 환경 개선 방향 (How to Improve the Environments of Detached Housing Areas with Moderate-quality Infrastructure Effectively in a Case of Daegu City)

  • A regional planning is central to addressing various urban problems surrounding the detached housing areas of a metropolitan city of Daegu. The problems are related with decrease in population, socio-economic issues of redevelopment and a sustainable society, the various housing market and housing rights, and a need to explore a desirable alternative to enhance the civil needs when renovating General Residential Zone. The aim of this paper is to look into a possible method of residents led environmental improvement by surveying the residents' consciousness in low-density residential areas. The residents wish to have a residential parking permit program to be set up in place and financial support for old independent houses and finally for lampposts and CCTV to be installed by the administrative assistants. The 75.7 per cent residents who inhabit in the low-density residential areas wish that a residential environmental improvement plan is required and the population at 65.9 per cent could consider a need for the citizens to participate in the residential improvement. 70.3 per cent answered that a consultative group of inhabitants is needed to be built, while 40.5 per cent expressed that they would like to participate in that group in case the group is set up. The possibility of productive residential improvement via resident participation in the low-density residential areas is high, as long as small various environmental improvement projects are created, a resident-consultative group formed, and finally a residential improvement plan is addressed in a comprehensive way.
