  • This study is to select the areas to ensure stream space or to implement flood defence measures according to flood frequencies by classifying the stream segment using river bed slope in Mangyeong river. The analysis result for each stream segment showed that the variation of flood inundation area was small in upper stream catchment. But in the lower stream area, the inundation area became larger greatly according to the increase of flood return period. This study classified the catchment of each steam segment as the region of ensuring stream space (ESS), below 10% residential area ratio, and the region of reinforcing flood defence (RFD), over 10% residential area ratio. The analysis results showed that the lower stream area included more RFD regions than upper stream area, and the upper stream area included more ESS regions than lower stream area. In future study, the regions stream spaces can be ensured will be analyzed considering the past stream morphology and the positions of wetlands.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to suggest policy directions for redevelopment project based on analysis of residents' perception on needs and reasons of redevelopment, and development type in old settlements in Daegu Metropolitan City. The main findings are follows. First, the study area is short of public space such as road and parks, occupied by old single detached houses with small parcel. The living environment of the area consist with many 20 years or older two story houses is very poor. Second, most of residents (58.5%) consider economic factors or cheaper rent more serious than other factors such as convenience, amenity, and education facilities. Third, residents want new housing construction even though explanatory power of trash collection, bad smells, privacy is very high in residents' satisfaction. Fourth, most of residents (88.8%) agree redevelopment and show strong preference to high-density apartment construction through demolish-and-development type of redevelopment approach. They are willing to agree the parcellevel redevelopment if governments provides economic supports and temporary settlements. This finding suggests very important policy implications for current government efforts to improve living environment.

  • The purpose of the study for the development of the technologies of water quality monitoring and contamination protection at water resource aquifer is to secure the groundwater as potable water resources. The results of water analysis as a basis of potable water criteria showed that 30 groundwater samples among 138 samples of small water supply system (21.7%) were exceeded the water criteria. The concentrations of Cl, $NO_3$ and Na for granite area are higher than those of gneiss and metasedimentary rocks of Ogcheon belt area and they are caused by the high vulnerability of groundwater at granite region where the residential area and cultivated land are concentrated. The spatial distribution of components indicated the close relationships between water quality and geology, land use, and topography. The multivariate statistical results showed that the water samples are divided into three groups by geology.

  • The purpose of the present study is to collect information in terms of the frequency and amounts in frequently consumed foods. We conducted the secondary analysis from '93 Korean National Nutrition Survey. Mainly informations about 2-day food records were used to investigate food intakes and to compare different food patterns by area. Amounts and frequencies of food intakes are on the list by the order of contributing amounts and frequencies. Amounts of total daily intake of food per capita are 1,054g in nationwide, 1,076g in large city, 1,049g in small city, 1,017g in rural. The major foods consumed in large quantities were rice, kimchi, milk, in nationwide, large city, and small city and rice, kimchi, Korean radish in rural. The intake frequency of kimchi, rice, and basic seasonings as garlic, green onion, salts, soy sauce et al, were higher than other foods in all area. However, there are need for further researches to investigate individual dietary intake and seasonal variation of intakes. Also, food consumption patterns for different groups considering age, sex, area should be studied.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of greenhouse cultivation area and groundwater level changes due to the water curtain cultivation in the greenhouse complexes, which are mainly situated along rivers where water resources are easy to secure. The groundwater observation network in Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do, located downstream of the Nakdong River, was selected for the study area. We classified the groundwater monitoring well into the greenhouse (riverside) and field cultivation areas (plain and mountain) to compare the groundwater impact of water curtain cultivation in the greenhouse complex. The characteristics of groundwater level changes classified by terrain type were analyzed using the observed data. Riverside wells have significant permeability coefficients and are close to rivers, so they are greatly affected by river flow and precipitation changes so that water level shows a specific pattern of annual changes. Most plain wells do not show a constant annual change, but observation wells near small rivers and small-scale greenhouse cultivation areas sometimes show annual and daily changes in which the water level drops during winter. Compared to other observation wells, mountain wells do not show significant yearly changes in water level and show general characteristics of bedrock aquifer well with a low permeability coefficient.

  • The smart factory has spread to small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) under the leadership of the government. Smart factory consists of a work area, an operation management area, and an industrial control system (ICS) area. However, each site is combined with the IT system for reasons such as the convenience of work. As a result, various breaches could occur due to the weakness of the IT system. This study seeks to discover the items and vulnerabilities that SMEs who have difficulties in information security due to technology limitations, human resources, and budget should first diagnose and check. First, to compare the existing domestic and foreign smart factory vulnerability classification systems and improve the current classification system, the latest smart factory vulnerability information is collected from NVD, CISA, and OWASP. Then, significant keywords are extracted from pre-processing, co-occurrence network analysis is performed, and the relationship between each keyword and vulnerability is discovered. Finally, the improvement points of the classification system are derived by mapping it to the existing classification system. Therefore, configuration and maintenance, communication and network, and software development were the items to be diagnosed and checked first, and vulnerabilities were denial of service (DoS), lack of integrity checking for communications, inadequate authentication, privileges, and access control in software in descending order of importance.

  • In countries and regions population plays an important role. Recently the importance of population migration increased as population growth slowed. Researches on population migration are mainly focused on the analysis of the population movement factors and the regional structure analysis using the network analysis method. Analysis of regional structure through population movement is not enough to explain the phenomenon of migration of small cities and rural regions. In this study, to overcome the limit of previous studies the characteristics of the population movement rate according to the size of the population were analyzed. Also network analysis using the population movement OD (Origin and Destination) and population movement rate OD were conducted and the results of them were compared. As the results of analysis by the regional population scale, the population movement by population size showed a big difference in the areas with more than 100 thousand people and less than 100 thousand people. Migration to the outside of the province was the most frequent in regions with 30,000~50,000 people. The population migration rate network analysis result showed that the new area with large population inflow capacity was identified, which could not be found in the population movement network analysis because population movement number is small. The population movement rate irate is expected to be used to identify the central regions of the province and to analyze the difference in resident attractiveness.

  • For the effective management of forest fire, understanding of regional forest fire patterns is needed. In this paper, forest fire ignition and spread characteristics were analyzed based on forest fire statistics. Fire occurrences, burned area, rate of spread, and burned area per fire between 1991 and 2007 were parameterized for the cluster analysis, which results were displayed using GIS to detect spatial patterns of forest fire. Administrative districts such as cities and counties were classified into 5 clusters by fire susceptibility. Metropolitan areas had fire characteristics that were infrequent, slow rate of spread, and small burned area. However, 4 cities and counties showing fast rate of spread, and large burned area, in the eastern regions of Taeback Mountain range, were the most susceptible areas to forest fire. The next vulnerable cities and counties were located in the West and South Coast area.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the seroprevalence of paratuberculosis in Korean cattle in western Jeonbuk area. From February 2012 to January 2013, blood samples were collected from 2,606 Korean cattle of 263 farms. As a result, 60 (2.3%) heads of 46 (17.5%) farms were positive on the ELISA test for paratuberculosis. Based on regional analysis, 18 (19.6%) out of 92 farms and 24 (2.5%) out of 941 heads in Iksan area, 28 (22.0%) out of 127 farms and 36 (2.8%) out of 1,291 heads in Kimje area were positive but samples from Gunsan area were all negative. According to scale breeding, small scale (below 50 heads) breeding showed the most high prevalence rate compared to middle (50 to 99 heads) or large (over 100 heads) scale breeding. To clarify the relation between number of heads and paratuberculosis prevalence, some additional analysis would be required in further, though.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the restructuring strategy for five provincial hospitals through the business analysis and survey of the service area. Through the survey of the service area of 5 hospitals. service area was classified into three groups, such as underserved area, adequate area, and overserved area. The strategy for the restructuring the clinical departments was set up based on the result of the business analysis and characteristics of the service area. The result of the study was as follows; 1) Whether or not a provincial hospital has specialized in specific area according to the circumstances and the needs of the community was the major factor influencing on the operating result of the hospital. 2) Provincial hospitals at the underserved area has to invest according to the changes of the occupancy rate and increasing pattern of the number of patients while maintaining the status as a general hospital. 3) Provincial hospitals at the adequate area has to lower the grade from the general hospital down to the hospital first and has to upgrade the competency through the restructuring the clinical departments and investment in specific area. 4) Provincial hospitals at the overserved area has to lower the grade from the general hospital down to the hospital first and has to seek ways to change the hospital fundamentally into geriatric hospital, pneumoconiosis hospital or psychiatric hospital etc. Provincial hospitals incapable to compete with private hospitals and clinics has to lower the grade from the general hospital down to the hospital first, to specialize in specific area and to restructure some clinical departments into rental base or self-operating basis. In case such methods are judged not so good solution, provincial hospitals has to find out ways such as shut-down of several departments or operating under the attending system.
