In order to assess policies for training of radiological technologists and public health, this study was conducted from the mid July to the end of August 2003 to the subjects of 890 radiological technologists who work at 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces of the country. For this purpose, an analysis of variance was performed by regions divided in Capital city, metropolitan areas and small- and medium-sized cities as well as by length of service. The outcomes look as follows : 1. From the analysis of replies to questions about the government health policy for radiological technologists, high scores were given to the items: "the Law of Medical Engineers should be revised from the pattern of supervision to assignment" and "the medical institutions should be legally obliged to secure certain number of radiological technologists". 2. From the analysis of variance by regions and groups, there was difference by regions in the items: "demand and supply of radiological technologists should be controlled" and "the license number of radiological technologists should be indicated in the medical insurance bill"(p<0.000). 3. From the analysis of variance as to training of radiological technologists, a significant difference was found by length of service in the items: "it is necessary to open a 4-year department of radiology and to revise curriculum" and "the legal system to indicate license number of radiological technologists in the medical insurance bill should be introduced". 4. The analysis of variance by length of service revealed that those who have served for more than 20 years favored "it is necessary to open a 4-year department of radiology and to revise curriculum" higher than those who have served for less than 5 years, showing a tendency the longer they work, the stronger they feel necessity".

The purpose of this paper is to analyses current status and issues of cluster formation and extract policy implications. To this end, the questionnaire which surveyed the level of cluster formation were executed targeting the actors of regional innovation projects(RIPs). The results show that the situations and development stage of the cluster formation between capital region and non-capital region, large cities and small and medium sized cites are different. The level of clustering is also satisfactory, which is a requirement for cluster formation at its early stage. However, the capacity for phase II of cluster growth is not sufficient yet in terns of relationships between ventures and large corporations, institutions supporting management, finance and marketing, researchers from each individual sector of strategic industries and spin-off fines. Therefore, RIPs should be promoted with different policy tools for various regions that are devised according to the varying development stage of each region. The location of RIPs should be determined considering efficiency rather than equity, clustering rather than decentralization, and specialization rather than multiple development. In the long term, developed regions should pursue balanced regional development, with underdeveloped regions targeting specialization.

Coworking spaces have been increasingly considered as a way of building an innovative entrepreneurship ecosystem and facilitating population inflow. This paper aims at identifying the concept and characteristics of coworking spaces and examining these various types in a regional context. Coworking spaces located or planned in small and medium-sized cities and rural areas in Japan and Korea are empirically investigated. Through the case study, this study provides implications for a model of coworking spaces being a creative community in a region. Specifically, it is necessary to have distinctive features only for the regional context-based coworking spaces. Moreover, this new spaces should act as a multi-functional, convergent space and a venue for regional innovation. In a fast-changing work environment such as telework, the region-based coworking spaces can be reconsidered as the place that provides an alternative work, play, learn, and rest platform. Creative people hoping for new work and lifestyle may flow into the region through this intermediator, and thus foster the interplay between the creative community and regional environment.
Cars are one of the main causes of air pollution in large cities, and 34.6% of domestic air pollution emissions come from mobile sources, of which cars account for 69.6%. In particular, the importance of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM), which are major pollutants in diesel vehicles, is increasing due to their high contribution to emissions. Therefore, in this study, the problem of natural regeneration caused by low exhaust gas temperature during low speed and low load operation was solved by applying a complex regeneration DPF that is not affected by temperature conditions to large diesel vehicles with higher driving time and engine displacement than small and medium-sized vehicles. And the feasibility of application to large diesel vehicles was reviewed by measuring the emission reduction efficiency. As a result of the reduction efficiency test on the actual vehicle durability product, PM showed a reduction efficiency of 84% to 86%, and the reduction efficiency of gaseous substances showed a high reduction efficiency of over 90%. The actual vehicle applicability test was completed with three driving patterns: village bus vehicle, police car, and road-going construction equipment vehicle, and no device problems occurred until the end of the test. Both load and no-load smoke measurement results showed a smoke reduction efficiency of over 96%.
This study examines the statistical relationship between medical specialists and managerial performance, using regression analysis with the number of medical specialists per 100 beds as the independent variable and the managerial performance index as the dependent variable. Managerial performance index incorporated the number of out-patients per specialist, the number of in-patients per specialist, the volume of revenue per specialist, the number of beds per specialist, and the average length of stay. To compare different groups of hospitals, dummy variable was applied to five groups of hospitals according to size: 100-299 beds, 300-599 beds, 600-899 beds, 900-1199 beds, and more than 1200 beds. The data consisted of 181 general hospitals with more than 100 beds, which included 28 public hospitals, 73 corporate hospitals, 64 university hospitals and 16 private hospitals. Of those, 87 hospitals were located in big cities and 94 hospitals in medium to small cities. This study used hospitals from the Korean Hospital Association, and data published in 2004. The collected data sample was analyzed using the SPSSWIN 12.0 version, and the study hypothesis was tested using regression analysis. The findings of this study are summarized as follows: Hypothesis 1 predicting a negative effect of the number of medical specialists on the number of out-patients per specialist was supported with statistical significance. The analysis of dummy variable showed causality in all the hospital groups larger than the group of 100-299 beds. Hypothesis 2 predicting a negative effect of the number of medical specialists on the number of in-patients per specialist was supported with statistical significance. The analysis of dummy variable showed causality in the hospital group of 300-599 beds when compared to the group of 100-299 beds. Hypothesis 3 predicting a negative effect of the number of medical specialists on the volume of revenue per specialist was not supported. However, the analysis of dummy variable showed that the volume of revenue per specialist increased in the hospital groups of 600-899 beds, 900-1199 beds, and over 1200 beds, when compared to the group of 100-299 beds. Hypothesis 4 predicting a negative effect of the number of medical specialists on the average length of stay was supported with statistical significance. The analysis of dummy variable showed causality in the hospital group of 300-599 beds, when compared to the group of 100-299 beds. Results of this study show that the number of the medical specialists per 100 beds is an important factor in hospital managerial performance. Most hospitals have tried to retain as many medical specialists as possible to keep the number of patients stable, to ensure adequate revenue, and to maintain efficient managerial performance. Especially, the big hospitals with greater number of beds and medical specialists have shown greater revenue per medical specialist despite the smaller number of patients per medical specialist. Findings of this study explains why hospitals in Korea are getting bigger.
Background: It is necessary to understand the correlation between stress and depression according to eating habits in the elderly. Purposes: To empirically verify the mediating effect of eating habits in the relationship between stress and depression in the elderly. Methods: we distributed an 'online questionnaire' to men and women aged 60 or more living in large cities, medium, and small-sized cities in Korea using Google questionnaires, and 365 replies were collected and used for analysis. Results: First, we found that stress in the elderly directly affected depression. In summary, an increment in the stress level of the elderly induces an increment in the depression level. Second, the eating habits of the elderly indirectly mediated the relationship between stress and depression. Conclusions: This study is meaningful in that it has verified eating habits have a mediating effect on the relationship between stress and depression in the elderly, and healthy eating habits of individuals can reduce depression. Therefore, counseling institution must check their daily eating habits when counseling the degree of depression of the elderly. In addition, eating habits are affected by stress, and it is necessary to grasp the individual stress index for the elderly who has terrible eating habits. Furthermore, it is needed to provide continuous nutrition education in institutions and communities to have proper eating habits.
Background: Since November 2019, long-term care hospitals have been able to provide patients with discharging programs to support the elderly in the community. This study aimed to identify both patient- and hospital-level factors that affect successful community discharge from long-term care hospitals. Methods: A multilevel logistic regression model was performed using hospitals as a clustering unit. The dependent variable was whether a patient stayed in the community for at least 30 days after discharge from a long-term care hospital. As for the patient-level independent variables, an agreement between a patient and the family about discharge, length of hospital stay, patient category, and residence at discharge were included. The number of beds and the ratio of long-stay patients were selected for the hospital-level factors. The sample size was 1,428 patients enrolled in the discharging program from November 2019 to December 2020. Results: The number of patients who were discharged to the community and stayed at least for 30 days was 532 (37.3%). The intraclass correlation coefficient was 22.9%, indicating that hospital-level factors had a significant impact on successful community discharge. The odds ratio (OR) of successful community discharge increased by 1.842 times when the patients and their families agreed on discharge. The ORs also increased by 3.020 or 2.681 times, respectively when the patients planned to discharge to their own house or their child's house compared to those who didn't have a plan for residence at discharge. The ORs increased by 1.922 or 2.250 times when the hospitals were owned by corporate or private property compared to publicly owned hospitals. The ORs decreased by 0.602 or 0.520 times when the hospital was sized over 400 beds or located in small and medium-sized cities compared to less than 200 bedded hospitals or located in metropolitan cities. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the patients' and their family's willingness for discharge had a great impact on successful community discharge and the hospital-level factors played a significant role in it. Therefore, it is important to acknowledge and support long-term care hospitals to involve active in the patient discharge planning process.
Purpose: This study was conducted to corroborate factors affecting dental technicians recognition states of their job consciousness. Methods: Self-administering questionnaires were distributed directly to some 200 registered female dental technicians in metropolis, small & medium-sized cities, farming and fishing villages of whom 153(76.5%) female dental technicians and female students responded in December, 2009. Information on recognition states of female dental technicians and female students in department of dental technology possible occupational mind and other general characteristics was gathered. Analysis of data was processed by use of X2-test and multiple regression analysis. Results: The recognition states of occupational satisfaction were higher in female students than female dental technicians(p<.05). They were observed that between respondents with more than five years of work and less than five years of career(p<.05). Statistically significant differences were observed in recognition values of female dental technicians occupational satisfaction between high and low groups of internal characteristic of their position and all ceramic part(p<.05). Conclusion: For woman dental technicians, the most predictive variables for recognition values of occupational satisfaction were an age, between groups, which of part and career(p<.05). Finally, this result suggests the facts that in order to achieve self-realization through the work experience, women herself should get rid of the dichotomous diagram and should change the consciousness of traditional role normals.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of student-led assessment on achievement emotions and science concept understanding in middle school science classes. For this purpose, 4 of the 7 classes in the third grade of mid- dle school in small and medium-sized cities were selected as the experimental group and conducted student-led assessment, while the comparative group (3 classes) conducted teacher-led assessment. The student-led assessment consisted of 4 stages in which learners took initiative to set learning goals and develop assessment criteria, conduct self assessment and peer assess- ment, and carry out seven assessment activities. Student-led assessment was effective in improving positive achievement emotions and relieving negative achievement emotions and increasing students' science concept understanding in middle school students. Students perform student-led assessment, grasp their reach, and repeatedly go through reflective thinking to compensate for deficiencies in the learning process. Therefore, student-led assessment can be used as a tool to increase science concept understanding by continuously checking the level of science concept understanding.

This study is aimed at providing basic data necessary for promoting consumption of professional sports licensing in the industry through service quality. Specifically, the current study examines the effects of service quality and licensing product intentions on professional sports and evaluates the moderating identity. For this study, we distributed a total of 480 questionnaires to those sampled through non-probability sampling from people living in small and medium cities including Seoul. Collected data were coded and entered into the computer, and statistically processed using SPSS Statistics 18 The results were as follow: First, service quality of professional sports significantly effect on licensing product intentions, but identity could not effect on licensing product intentions. Second, Identity as a moderating variable has significantly positive effect on the relationship between star player of service quality and Licensing Product Intentions. In conclusion, the companies that participate as title sponsors in professional sports were proven to promotion their licensing product intentions, as identified with sports fans through service quality of professional sports such as record, attractiveness, star player and locally affiliated.
