In this paper, in order to investigate the catalytic effect of the sludge exhausted from waterworks as heating temperature for NOx removal, we measure NO, $NO_2$ concentration as increasing temperature of sludge pellets and applying high voltage to sludge pellets in a quartz-glass reactor at the same time. NO initial concentration is 100ppm balanced with air gas in a mixing chamber. The gas flow is 5[l/min] and the heating temperature of sludge pellets in a quartz-glass reactor is adjusted from $200[^{\circ}C]$$400[^{\circ}C]$ to investigate the effect of sludge pellets for removal NOx$(NO+NO_2)$ as increasing temperature. $BaTiO_3$ pellets is filled in a packed-bed reactor for corona discharge to measure how much NOx$(NO+NO_2)$ is removed after generating $NO_2$ from the packed-bed reactor. AC[60Hz] voltage is supplied to the reactor for discharge. In the result, $NO_2$ concentration is decreased by sludge pellets without heating temperature for sludge pellets in case of sludge pellets done heat treatment, however NO concentration is almost the same to be compared NO initial concentration. As increasing heating temperature for sludge pellets, $NO_2$ adsorbed on the sludge surface done heat treatment is converted to NO by the thermal energy, so NO concentration is extremely increased by reduction decomposition of $NO_2$. Finally, We think the sludge is possible to use for reduction catalysts, however we need to study more about the possibility and endurance of sludge as catalysts for NOx removal.

In this paper, in order to investigate the catalytic effect of the sludge exhausted from waterworks on NO$_{x}$ removal, we measure NO removal characteristics with and without sludge pellets in BaTiO$_3$-sludge packed-bed reactor of plate-plate geometry. NO initial concentration is 50 ppm balanced with air and a gas flow rate is 5ι/min. Gas temperature is changed from 25 to 10$0^{\circ}C$ to investigate the role of sludge pellet on removing active oxygen species and NO$_2$. BaTiO$_3$pellets is filled for coronal discharge at upstream of reactor and sludge pellets is filled for catalytic effect at downstream of reactor. The volume percent of sludge pellets to BaTiO$_3$pellets is changed from 0% to 100% and AC voltage is supplied to the reactor for discharging simulated gases. In the results, when sludge pellets is put at the downstream of plasma reactor, NO removal rate is slightly increased. However, NO$_2$and $O_3$ as by-products during NO removal is significantly decreased from 51ppm without sludge pellets to 5 ppm with sludge pellets and from 50 ppm without sludge pellets to 0.004ppm with sludge pellets, respectively. Therefore, NO$_{x}$(NO+NO$_2$) removal rate is increased up to 93%. It is thought that sludge pellet maybe react with active oxygen species and NO$_2$ generated by corona discharge in surface of BaTiO$_3$pellets, the then NO$_2$O$_3$as by-products are considerably decreased. When we increase gas temperature from room temperature to 10$0^{\circ}C$, NO removal rate is decreased, while NO$_2$ concentration is independent on gas temperature. These result suggest that the removal mechanism of active oxygen species and NO$_2$in sludge pellet is not absorption, but chemical reaction. Therefore we expect that sludge pellets exhausted for waterworks could be used as catalyst for NO$_{x}$ removal with high removal rate and low by-product.oduct.

In this experiment, an attempt to use the sludge pellets as catalyst for NO removal from simulated gas is experimentally investigated by using $BaTiO_3$-sludge packed-bed reactor of plate-plate geometry. An experimental investigation has been conducted for NO concentration of 50[ppm] balanced with air, a gas flow rate of 5[1/min]. $BaTiO_3$ pellets are filled at upstream of reactor for corona discharge and sludge pellets are put at downstream of reactor for catalystic effect. The volume rate of sludge pellets to $BaTiO_3$ pellets is 50[%] and AC voltage to dischare the gases was supplied. In the result, when sludge pellets is seperated to $BaTiO_3$ by other reactor and AC voltage is supplied to $BaTiO_3$ and sludge pellets NO, $NO_2$ removal rate is higher. When gas temperature increase from room temperature to 100[$^{\circ}C$], NO removal is decreased while $NO_2$ concentration is independent on gas temperature. This result suggest that the removal mechanism of active oxyzen species and $NO_2$ in sludge is not absorption, but chemical reaction. Temperature of heating treatment is on sludge pellets increased, $NO_x$ removal rate is decrease. It is thought that organic compound is removed by heating treatment.
Feasibility is investigated for reduction of chromium ore by Si sludge with mixed silicothermic and carbothermic reaction. The reduction behavior of chromium ore using Si sludge is investigated precisely to determine the effects of carbon addition, reaction time, and reaction temperature. The pellets are dropped into the furnace after temperature stabilized. As the amount of C addition increases, the amounts of CO and $CO_2$ gas generation increase. After the dropping of the pellets, the pellets are heated and the reaction starts at about 1,573 K or higher. The pellets maintain their shape until 10 min after the drop, and then melted. As the holding time increased, the size of the reduced metal particles increased. The chromium ore is rapidly reduced by the Si sludge, and the slag penetrated into the chromium ore and reduction progressed inside. As the reduction temperature increased, the reaction initiation time is shortened and the reaction fraction of the reduction reaction increased. As the reaction temperature increased, agglomeration of reduced ferrochrome metal is promoted.

In this experiment, an attempt to use pellets($BaTiO_3$, $TiO_2$, ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, sludge) for $NO_x$ removal was conducted The effect of pellets on NO removal from simulated flue gas was experimentally investigated for packed-bed reactor of plate-plate geometry. An experimental investigation has been conducted for NO concentration of 50ppm balanced by air, and gas flow rate of $5{\ell}/min$. Ceramic pellets were used for surface discharge and the sludge pellets was added on $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ to increase $NO_x$ removal rate. In the result, $NO_x$ removal rate using $TiO_2$ was better than other pellets. $NO_2$ segnificatly generated by using $BaTiO_3$ pellets and sludge pellets used with $BaTiO_3$ decreased $NO_2$ generation.

The experiment on characteristic of $NO_x$ removal for $BaTiO_3$-sludge hybrid packed bed type reactor was conducted. Gas flow rate was 5(${\ell}/min$) and NO concentration was 50, 100 and 150(ppm). The effect on volume percent of $BaTiO_3$ to sludge was investigated, sludge pellets was added to $BaTiO_3$ pellets to increase $NO_x$ removal rate. In the result, when sludge pellets was added, NO removal rate of $BaTiO_3$ - sludge hybrid type was increased from 90.6% to 95%. However $NO_2$ decreased from 88ppm to 10ppm. $O_3$ decreased from 77ppm to 2ppm. $NO_x$ removal rate was increased to 74%.

In this paper, we made four types of metal particle $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier reactors with and without dielectric of BaTiO$_3$ between metal particle and $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier to investigate NOx removal characteristic and the effect of dielectric on Nox removal. And Nox removal rate is measured when sludge pellets are put at down stream of plasma reactor. Nox removal rate in the reactor with $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier is much better than that in the reactor without $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier, Nox removal rate is not so good in metal particle-Al$_2$O$_3$ barrier reactor with BaTiO$_3$ between metal particle and $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier, however, Nox removal rate is about 40% in metal particle-Al$_2$O$_3$ barrier reactor with TiO$_2$. The most of NO is conversed to NO$_2$ in these kind of reactor. When sludge pellets are put at down stream of plasma reactor, Nox removal rate is greatly improved up to 90%. It indicates that sludge pellets have great effect on the NO$_2$ removal and the improvement of Nox removal rate, however, dielectric materials between metal particle and $Al_2$O$_3$ barrier have not effect. Organic materials included in sludge may react with NO$_2$ and ozone so that Nox removal rate is greatly improved.

In this paper, we made different types of non-thermal plasma reactors such as Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$ to measure NOx removal characteristic and the dielectric effect for NOx removal. NOx removal rate is not so good when we use just dielectric of $Al_2O_3$ at the Metal-particle reactor, also we just put sludge pellets(100%) without Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$ and dielectric such as $TiO_2$, $BaTiO_3$ to measure the effect of sludge for NOx removal so that NOx removal rate is almost the same. However NOx removal rate is more than 90% in case of the reactor of composition shape used both dielectric of $Al_2O_3$ and sludge pellets at the same time. In case of the shape of plasma reactor with dielectric, the Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$, and the metal-particle reactor with both $Al_2O_3$ and dielectric such as $TiO_2$, $BaTiO_3$ at the same time, they are almost the same effect for NOx removal, so we made MNPR(Metal-particle Non-thermal Plasma Reactor with $Al_2O_3$) to reduce these kinds of demerits. Finally, we think MNPR should be much better than other reactors for NOx removal.

A porous material with a surface layer was fabricated using glass abrasive sludge and expanding agents. The glass abrasive sludges were mixed with expanding agents and compacted into pellets. These pellets were sintered in the range of $700-900^{\circ}C$ for 20min. The sintered porous materials had a surface layer with smaller pores and inner parts with larger pores. The surface layer and pores controlled the absorption ratio and physical properties.
