초미립자 탈수성 증대를 위한 초음파 활용에 관한 연구 (Ultrasonically Enhanced Dewaterability of Fine Particles)

  • In accordance with the need of developing a methodology for the sludge reduction, this study investigates the effect of sonication on the dewaterability of the sewage sludge. The investigation involves laboratory experiments of the sewage sludge from Yongin Waste Treatment Plant. The Laboratory tests were conducted under a broad range of conditions including energy levels of ultrasonic waves, time for the treatment, pH, and effect of polymers. The results of the study show that sonication enhances the dewaterability significantly The degree of enhancement varies with sonication power, treatment time, the amount of sludge treated. The effect of sonication on the temperature and pH of the test specimens seems not to be significant. The polymer can be useful to enhance the effectiveness of ultrasound treatment.

  • 본 연구는 하수처리장에서 발생되는 농축슬러지의 처리방법에 대해 진행하였다. 방사선을 15 kGy 조사하였을 때 농축슬러지에 존재하는 일반세균 및 대장균을 99% 이상 제거, 유기물 분해등 소화조에서 일어나는 공정을 대체 할 수 있다. 폐수산자원인 불가사리를 가공하여 제조한 물리개량제를 첨가하여 응집공정의 효율을 높이고 아울러 함수율 10% 이상의 저감효과를 얻을 수 있다.

정수 슬러지의 탈수성 개선을 위한 고분자 응집제 조합주입 고찰 (Determination of Organic Polyelectrolyte Addition Method to Improve Dewaterbility of Alum Sludge)

  • Since polyelectrolytes have been used as conditioners, conventionally only a single polyelectrolyte has been added for sludge conditioning. However, the amount of polyelectrolyte needed for optimal conditioning of sludge is very critical. Overdosing reduces the sludge dewaterbility. In this experimental study, sludge conditioning with single or dual polyelectrolyte was conducted to avoid problems associated with overdosing. Single polyelectrolyte conditioning was conducted by one of cationic, nonionic, and anionic polyelectrolytes. The dual polyelectrolyte conditioning was performed by adding one polyelectrolyte and another one in sequence. The dewaterbility of sludges were measured by SRF(specific resistance to filtration), TTF(time to filter), CST(capillary suction time) respectively. Additionally, parameters such as turbidity, zeta potential, viscosity of conditioned sludges or supematant were measured to evaluate the changed characteristics of sludge by addition of polyelectrolytes. From the experiment results, it was concluded that single polyelectrolyte conditioning had a high probability of overdosing, whereas dual polyelectrolyte conditioning resulted in a better dewaterbility and less chance of overdosing. But, it was also found that dosing sequence in dual conditioning was very important according to the characteristics of sludge. Parameters such as viscosity, turbidity, zeta potential were found to be useful as a means of evaluating sludge dewaterbility.

이젝터를 적용한 무기성 슬러지 건조시스템 기술개발 (Development of Inorganic Sludge Drying System Technology Applied with Ejector by Air Velocity)

  • The moisture content of many inorganic sludges is less than 70% during dewatering. Hence, a mono or piston pump cannot feed the sludge dryer. Thus, most inorganic sludge should be moved to a landfill or recycled directly without any reduction method. This development was invented to apply cyclone dryers using air and specially designed for the continuous injection of sludge sources by negative pressure and high air velocity for low moisture inorganic matter. Therefore, wastewater sludge and raw water treatment sludge discharged from various industrial fields might be settled by this development. The cyclone dryer was commercialized useful as moisture reduction equipment. This development was applied using a sludge injection system for sludge feeding and under the cooperation of ejector design computational fluid dynamics. Furthermore, this paper presented good ejector model results, blowing an airflow of 264 m3/min at an actual performance test.

  • The KIDEA process, occurred in single reactor, is operated by three consequential steps, i.e., aerobic, settling, and discharge while introducing wastewater into the bottom of reactor continuously. It could accomplish biological oxidation (BOD), nitrification, denitrification (T-N), phosphate removal (T-P), and solid separation (SS) through the operational mode mentioned. Especially, this system has removed the T-P by wasting certain amount of sludge at the end of aeration phase during 5~10 minutes and not returned the activated sludge into the reactor, that is, no RAS (Return Activated Sludge). All running mode and instrumentation were controlled by the PLC equipment automatically. In this study, therefore, we have evaluated T-P removal efficiency and moisture content (MC) performance under the different excess sludge wasting mode. T-P track study and MC with TS concentration were analyzed during aerobic and settling phase. It has revealed that there was no significant difference of released T-P concentration between the first case which waste the sludge at the end of aerobic phase (0.2mg/L) and the second case which waste the sludge at 40 min of settling phase (0.25mg/L). Also, dewatering duration and MC have decreased 1.7% when TS concentration was increased from 0.31% to 0.5% during aerobic condition. Hence, it has concluded the system performance was less influenced by the operation time change of PLC program.

분뇨처리장의 공정개선에 의한 처리효율 향상에 관한 연구 (Improvement of treatment efficiency for sanitary treatment facilities by process modifications)

  • There is a need to improve the efficiency of the existing sanitary treatment facilities, because the effluent standard becomes more stricter and septic sludge increased. Thus, operating processes of sanitary treatment system in M city changed with installation of additional facilities. Process modifications were as follows: Dilution water was added to the next process after primary aeration tank. Some secondary sedimentation sludge was recycled to primary aerator so that most of the organics were stabilized in primary aeration tank under automatic control of dissolved oxygen. The line of effluent from dewatering process flowing to the activated sludge tank was changed to the primary aerator. The primary sedimentation sludge line was linked to a thickener. Polymer was added to the activated sludge tank. The effluent of primary aerator and aerobic digester was recycled from the 5th to the 1st sector. As consequencies of above process modifications, the improvement of removal efficiency was achieved as BOD 54%, COD 42%, SS 61%, T-N 39%, and T-P 12%, respectively.

응집과 균질화가 팽화슬러지의 용존공기부상과 침전에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Coagulation and Homogenization on the Dissolved Air Flotation and Sedimentation of Bulking Sludge)

  • The objective of this study is to examine the effect of the coagulation and homogenization in bulking sludge thickening of paper manufacturing plant using DAF(Dissolved Air Flotation) and gravitational sedimentation. The effects of parameters such as dosage of coagulant and homogenization time were examined. The results showed that DAF and sedimentation was affected aluminum sulfate and anion polymer coagulant differently. At the optimum dosage of aluminum sulfate, thickening efficiency of DAF and sedimentation process were increase 1.25 time and 2.02 time, respectively. At the optimum dosage of anion polymer coagulant, thickening efficiency of DAF process was increase 1.35 time, but thickening efficiency at sedimentation was 1.06 time. When anion polymer coagulant of 0.5 mg/l was added in DAF process, water content of sludge was decreased from 96.6% to 90.7% in dewatering process using Buchner funnel test device. After homogenization(20500 rpm, 10 min), Sauter mean diameter of sludge floc was decreased from 631 ${\mu}m$ to 427 ${\mu}m$, however increase of flotation efficiency by DAF was only 1.09 time.

  • 본 논문에서 고함수비 슬러지나 퇴적물들의 탈수에 지오텍스타일 튜브들의 이용이 연구되었고, 튜브들의 사용에 대한 실용성과 영향을 미치는 요인들도 평가되었다. 개조된 실험기를 사용하여 고함수비물질들과 두종류의 woven지오텍스타일 튜브에 대해서 압력여과시험들이 실험되었다. 실험결과, 1) 지오텍스타일 튜브안쪽에 형성된 필터케익이 튜브안에서 세립자 유지의 주 원인이며, 또한 튜브의 투수율 감수의 원인이고, 2) 필터케익형성을 조정해서 토사유지율과 투수율사이의 균형을 얻는것이 성공적인 지오텍스타일 튜브사용에 가장 중요한 것이며, 3) 지오텍스타일, 슬러지 특성, 여과압력등이 탈수효과 및 탈수율에 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다

총인슬러지의 1차 침전지 반송에 따른 하수처리장 고형물 제거특성 연구 (Evaluation of Solids Removal Characteristics on Sewage Treatment Plants Using T-P sludge Return into the Primary Settling Tank)

  • In this study, the solids removal characteristics using T-P sludge generated from PACl coagulation were analyzed by laboratory scale and full scale experiment. As the amounts of T-P sludge injection into the raw sewage influent increased at the rate of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 %, the suspended solids concentrations after 20 minutes setting test decreased to 210, 137, 91, 64, 43 mg/L, respectively. The filtration time required for dewatering test of the raw sewage influent decreased to 982, 728, 658, 581, 492 sec for 0, 1, 2, 3, 4% of T-P sludge injection, respectively. As the amounts of PACl coagulant into the effluent from final setting tank increased at 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 mg/L, the required filtration times for T-P sludge increased into 12.3, 41.7, 53.7, 67.2, 79.5 sec and the dewaterability of T-P sludge decreased. After T-P sludge returned into the primary settling tank on J-si sewage treatment plants, the effluent concentrations of COD, SS, T-N and T-P from primary settling tank into bioreactor decreased by 35.9, 27.9, 22.2, and 52.6% due to the coagulation effects of the T-P sludge. Finally, it was found that the return of T-P sludge into the primary settling tank could result into the sludge reduction having a lower water content of 3.03% p than in case of the only T-P sludge dehydration.

미생물배양조를 결합한 회전원판법에 의한 하수처리 효과 (The Effect of Wastewater Treatment by Rotating Biological Contactors with HBR)

  • This study was carried out to develop the new process for RBC process which is capable of nutrient removal and to obtain its design parameters for Sludge Settling Type Rotating Biological Contactors by comparing RBC with RBC combined with HBR (Hanmee Bio-Reactor). To achieve more than 90% of organic removal efficiency, organic loading rate less than $6.0g\;BOD/m^2/d$ is recommended. Nitrification rate was about 90% at $6.0g\;BOD/m^2/d$. TN removal efficiency of RBC+HBR was higher than those of RBC1 and RBC2. TN removal efficiency at condition of $5.0g\;BOD/m^2/d$ was about 60% in RBC1. When BOD loading rate was $6.0g\;BOD/m^2/d$. TN removal efficiencies in RBC2 and RBC+HBR were about 70%, 80%, respectively. TP removal efficiency was more than about 67% for RBC1, about 63% for RBC2 and about 71 % for RBC+HBR at the same loading rate. From the blank experiment to observe removal efficiency in the first stage, it can be known that COD removal efficiency was about 30% and suspend solids settling rate was about 45%. It was proved that RBC+HBR is much better in sludge dewatering than RBC.
