유도전동기 회전자 시정수 변동에 강인한 간접 벡터제어 (A robust indirect vector control for the rotor time constant variation of induction motors)

  • This paper presents the effects of rotor time constant variation and the on-line tuning algorithm of the rotor time constant. If the value of the rotor time constant is set incorrectly, the IFOC (Indirect Field Oriented Control)scheme exhibits deteriorated performance according to the wrong slip command. These variation effects of the rotor time constant are caused by the slip calculator where it is known that the rotor time constant play an important role in the aligned rotor flux. Using the two torque angles (stationary torque angle, rotating torque angle), the variation of the rotor time constant is identified, and the rotor time constant of the controller is tuned to the proper value of the machine. As the result, with the proposed algorithm, the dynamics of the deteriorated IFOC system, where the rotor time constant is varied, is improved. For the purpose of the validity of this proposed algorithm, the computer simulations and the experiments have been performed and the explanation of the results is presented. 슬립폼 공법 적용 시 단면변화에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Section Change Using the Slip-Form Method)

  • 슬립폼 공법은 기존의 공법들에 비해 많은 기술적, 경제적인 효과에도 불구하고 대부분 싸이로, 교각 등 특수구조물에 국한되어 적용되고 있는 실정이다. 이미 코어윌 선행공법이나 아파트 벽식구조와 같이 일반건축물에 일부분 적용하여 공법적용의 적정성을 검토한바 있었으며 다소 시행착오는 있었지만 나름대로 슬립폼 공법을 심도 있게 검토하는 계기가 되었다고 사료된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 슬립포 공법을 1)Sliding 중 슬라브 타설, 2)RC구조+SRC구조(일부구간), 3)내부의 단면변화(직선-대각선-원형) 등과 같이 그동안 적용되지 않았던 구조물을 실제 시공을 통하여 가능성 여부를 알아보고자 했다. 추후 실제 슬립폼 공법적용을 통해 나타난 문제점을 계속 보완하고, 설계 및 엔지니어링, 기획단계에서부터 철저한 사전검토가 이루어진다면 공기단축, 원가절감, 작업의 안정성 등, 좋은 품질의 시공성을 확보할 수 있으며, 슬립폼 공법의 영역을 확대, 발전시킬 수 있는 단초가 되리라 판단된다.

Design of geocell reinforcement for supporting embankments on soft ground

  • The methods of design available for geocell-supported embankments are very few. Two of the earlier methods are considered in this paper and a third method is proposed and compared with them. In the first method called slip line method, plastic bearing failure of the soil was assumed and the additional resistance due to geocell layer is calculated using a non-symmetric slip line field in the soft foundation soil. In the second method based on slope stability analysis, general-purpose slope stability program was used to design the geocell mattress of required strength for embankment. In the third method proposed in this paper, geocell reinforcement is designed based on the plane strain finite element analysis of embankments. The geocell layer is modelled as an equivalent composite layer with modified strength and stiffness values. The strength and dimensions of geocell layer is estimated for the required bearing capacity or permissible deformations. These three design methods are compared through a design example. It is observed that the design method based on finite element simulations is most comprehensive because it addresses the issue of permissible deformations and also gives complete stress, deformation and strain behaviour of the embankment under given loading conditions.

GPS에 의한 장기선 이동측량의 효율성 검토 (A Study on the Effective Use of Long-Baseline Kinematic Surveying by GPS)

  • 단시간으로 많은 3차원 지형정보를 획득할 수 있는 GPS 이동측량은 수 km 이하의 단기선에서 주로 활용되고 있으며, 장기선에 대한 위치결정은 비교적 오랜 시간이 요구되는 정지 측량에 의존하고 있어 단시간으로 장기선 위치결정을 할 수 있는 방법이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 GPS에 의한 장기선 이동측량의 효율적 이용 가능성을 검토하기 위하여 수 십 km 이상의 기선에 대한 기선 거리별, 궤도력별 그리고 관측시간대별로 기선해석 정확도를 정지측량 결과와 비교 분석하고자 한다. 연구결과, cycle slip이 발생한 경우 기선해석 정확도가 크게 저하됨을 알 수 있었다 정밀궤도력을 이용한 경우 70km 이내에서 수 분의 이동측량으로 1ppm 이하의 정확도를 얻을 수 있었다. 앞으로 좀더 심도 있는 연구가 수행된다면, 수 십 km 이내에서 GPS 이동측량을 이용하여 국토개발을 비롯한 각종 건설분야에 필요한 지형정보를 보다 효율적으로 획득할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

이종금속간의 마멸에 관한 이론적 연구 (A study on theoretical analysis of wear between different metals)

  • The perfect and accurate methods to control the wear are not made clear so far. For this phenomenon only mating surface has been studied. In order to control the wear the essence of it has to be made clear. It is reported that adhesive wear might occure as a result of plastic deformation, the fracture and removal or transfer asperities on close contacting surfaces. On this view point the plastic flow was attempted to compare with fluid or electromagnetic flow. The partial differential equations of equilibrium for the plane strain deformation will make use of the method of characteristics. The characteristic curves or characteristics of the hyperbolic equation coincide with the slip lines by R. Hill's papers. By Hencky's stress equation, it is evident that if P and .phi. are prescribed for a boundary condition then it may be possible to proceed along constant .alpha. and .betha. lines to determine the value of the hydrostatic pressure everywhere in the slip line field net work. A wedge formation mechanism has been considered for an explanation of this matters. The analysis shows that there is a critical value, which depends on the hardness ratio and the shear stress on the interface, for the top angle of asperity is less than this critical value, the asperity can yield plastically despite of being harder than the mating surface.

한반도 남동부 제4기 단층의 대자율이방성(AMS): 단층의 운동감각과 고응력장 해석 (Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) of the Quaternary Faults, SE Korea: Application to the Determination of Fault Slip Sense and Paleo-stress Field)

  • 한반도 남동부 일원에는 주요 지질구조선(양산단층대, 울산단층, 연일구조선, 오천단층계 등)을 따라 제4기 단층들이 도처에 분포하고 있으며, 이들의 기하와 운동학적 특징은 한반도의 제4기 지각변형사와 현생응력상태 등을 이해하는 데 중요한 정보들을 제공한다. 이번 연구에서는 진티단층, 모화단층, 수성지2단층 그리고 왕산단층을 대상으로 대자율이방성 방법을 적용하여 단층가우지의 미세구조를 분석하고 단층의 운동감각을 해석하였으며, 그 결과를 바탕으로 단층암의 미세구조 발달과정과 제4기 응력장에 대해 논의하였다. 대자율이방성 측정을 통해 구해진 자기미세구조로부터 단층의 운동감각을 분석한 결과, 왕산단층을 제외한 나머지 세 단층은 모두 역이동성이 우세한 단층운동에 의한 미세구조가 발달되어 있다. 단층면에 거의 평행한 편평형의 미세구조가 발달하는 점과 이방성정도가 클수록 편평형의 정도가 증가하는 특징에 근거할 때, 단층가우지의 미세구조는 점진적인 변형에 의한 최종응력변형이 기록된 것으로 해석된다. 또한, 최후기에 재활된 역단층운동으로 기존의 단층가우지 내에 존재하는 미세구조들은 모두 지워지고 최후기의 운동에 의한 미세구조만이 기록된 것으로 판단된다. 단층가우지의 자기미세구조 분석을 통해 유추된 운동감각으로부터 구해진 고응력장은 동북동-서남서 방향의 압축력이며, 이 응력장은 지진원 메커니즘, 수압파쇄시험 그리고 단층 지구조분석결과를 통해 구해진 한반도 남동부의 고응력장과 부합된다. 결론적으로 한반도 일원은 제4기 동안 동-서 내지 동북동-서남서 방향의 압축성 응력장이 지배적이었던 것으로 해석된다.

Fuzzy-Neuro Controller for Speed of Slip Energy Recovery and Active Power Filter Compensator

  • In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy-neuro controller to control the speed of wound rotor induction motor with slip energy recovery. The speed is limited at some range of sub-synchronous speed of the rotating magnetic field. Control speed by adjusting resistance value in the rotor circuit that occurs the efficiency of power are reduced, because of the slip energy is lost when it passes through the rotor resistance. The control system is designed to maintain efficiency of motor. Recently, the emergence of artificial neural networks has made it conductive to integrate fuzzy controllers and neural models for the development of fuzzy control systems, Fuzzy-neuro controller has been designed by integrating two neural network models with a basic fuzzy logic controller. Using the back propagation algorithm, the first neural network is trained as a plant emulator and the second neural network is used as a compensator for the basic fuzzy controller to improve its performance on-line. The function of the neural network plant emulator is to provide the correct error signal at the output of the neural fuzzy compensator without the need for any mathematical modeling of the plant. The difficulty of fine-tuning the scale factors and formulating the correct control rules in a basic fuzzy controller may be reduced using the proposed scheme. The scheme is applied to the control speed of a wound rotor induction motor process. The control system is designed to maintain efficiency of motor and compensate power factor of system. That is: the proposed controller gives the controlled system by keeping the speed constant and the good transient response without overshoot can be obtained.

Assessment of seismic stability of finite slope in c-ϕ soils - a plasticity approach

  • A forecast of slope behavior during catastrophic events, such as earthquakes is crucial to recognize the risk of slope failure. This paper endeavors to eliminate the significant supposition of predefined slip surfaces in the slope stability analysis, which questions the relevance of simple conventional methods under seismic conditions. To overcome such limitations, a methodology dependent on the slip line hypothesis, which permits an automatic generation of slip surfaces, is embraced to trace the extreme slope face under static and seismic conditions. The effect of earthquakes is considered using the pseudo-static approach. The current outcomes developed from a parametric study endorse a non-linear slope surface as the extreme profile, which is in accordance with the geomorphological aspect of slopes. The proposed methodology is compared with the finite element limit analysis to ensure credibility. Through the design charts obtained from the current investigation, the stability of slopes can be assessed under seismic conditions. It can be observed that the extreme slope profile demands a flat configuration to endure the condition of the limiting equilibrium at a higher level of seismicity. However, a concurrent enhancement in the shear strength of the slope medium suppresses this tendency by offering greater resistance to the seismic inertial forces induced in the medium. Unlike the traditional linear slopes, the extreme slope profiles mostly exhibit a steeper layout over a significant part of the slope height, thus ensuring a more optimized solution to the slope stability problem. Further, the susceptibility of the Longnan slope failure in the Huining-Wudu seismic belt is predicted using the current plasticity approach, which is found to be in close agreement with a case study reported in the literature. Finally, the concept of equivalent single or multi-tiered planar slopes is explored through an example problem, which exhibits the appropriateness of the proposed non-linear slope geometry under actual field conditions.

  • This paper presents a simple method to estimate fully plastic crack tip stresses of unequally notched specimen based on the equilibrium condition of the least upper bounds for plane strain deformation fields. The method is applied to unequally notched specimens under bending and tension. For various notch angle the limit loads and crack tip stresses are estimated from the present method and compared with results from finite element limit analyses.

  • This paper proposes J and CTOD estimation schemes applied to fracture toughness testing, covering typical homogeneous and bi-material specimens. Recommendations are based on the plastic limit analysis (either slip line field or finite element limit analyses), assuming the rigid plastic material behavior. The main outcome of the present study is that the J and CTOD estimation schemes (both codified and non-codified), recommended for homogeneous specimens, can be equally used for bi-material specimens with interface cracks. The effect of yield strength mismatch in bi-material specimens on the J-integral CTOD is discussed.
