Research on the Effectiveness of Diagnostic Ultrasound Transmission Media (초음파진단 시 전파매질의 유용성)

  • When diagnostic ultrasounds are used, an ultrasonic transmission media is used to effectively transmit the ultrasonic energy. Types of ingredients of polymer hydro gel, emulsion, and oil gel were compared with commercialized products by measuring characteristics of ultrasonic transmission media such as skin lubricity, skin moisturizing, and dryness speed which were contained in each different media. The mean friction coefficient measured to investigate skin lubricity showed high in the agent containing a large amount of oil, whereas the mean friction coefficient of the low viscosity emulsion did not show a significant difference with that of the polymer hydro gel. The moisture evaporation measured to investigate the dryness speed of the agent showed highest in polymer hydro gel. This showed that the larger amount of oil it had, the less moisture evaporation occurred. For skin moisture measured to investigate moisturizing characteristics of skin, low viscosity emulsion showed high in moisture content, whereas it showed slowest reduction in moisture content. As a type of emulsion appropriately containing water and oil is superior in skin moisturizing and skin tenderness, it is expected to serve as a dosage form of new ultrasonic transmission media.

A Study on the Minimization of Tie-plate Loss of Cast Resin Transformer using Surface Impedance Boundary Condition (표면 임피던스 경계조건을 이용한 몰드변압기 Tie-plate 손실 최소화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a tie-plate shape is optimized by using the numerical technique to reduce the stray load loss of the tie-plate which is a mechanical structure for assembling and supporting of the transformer core. The eddy current loss of the structure is calculated by an electromagnetic field FEM program and the results are compared with 4 different shapes of tie-plates. Since the thickness of the tie-plate is very thin, and the skin depth is very small, the number of FE elements for 3-D transformer model is too big to solve. So, the surface impedance boundary condition (SIBC) is used to reduce the system matrix size and its computing time. To verify the method a 2.5 MVA 22,900/380V distribution transformer is simulated using one objective function and three design variables with some constraints. The final optimized tie-plate has three slots of 6 mm width and 23 mm gap, and the loss is reduced by 75 %. Consequently, the proposed algorithm seems to be considerably applicable to electric machinery as well as power transformer.

Development of Pneumography Impedance Based Respiration Measurement System Using Kalman Filter (칼만 필터를 이용한 흉곽 임피던스법 기반의 호흡 신호 계측시스템 개발)

  • A respiration measurement system for vital signs was developed. Respiration signals were measured, processed, and analyzed. Four electrodes, attached on the surface of the skin, were used to monitor respiration signals by impedance pneumography. The measured signals were amplified, detrended, filtered, and transferred toan embedded module. The Kalman filter was used to remove motion artifact from the respiration signals. Experiments were conducted at stable condition and walking condition to evaluate the performance of the system. Respiration rates of five males and five females were measured and analyzed at each condition. The referenced respiration signal was determined by temperature of nose surroundings. The results showed that the respiration rates at the walking condition had more motion artifacts than the stable condition. The accuracies of the respiration measurement system with Kalman filter were found as 96% at the stable condition and 95% at the walking condition. The results showed that the Kalman filter was an effective tool to remove the motion artifact from the respiration signal.

  • Magneto-Impedance(MI) sensor is a highly sensitive sensor, which was able to detect a weak geomagnetic field. It also has a merit to be able to build in the low power system. In this study, their magnetic permeability and anisotropy field(H$\sub$k/) as a function of some different thickness of sputtered amorphous CoZrNb films with zero-magnetostriction and soft magnetic property are investigated. In order to make a uniaxial anisotropy, film was subjected to the post annealing in a static magnetic field with 1KOe intensity at 250, 300, and 320$^{\circ}C$ respectively for 2 hours. Magnetic properties of films are measured by using a M-H loop tracer. Magnetic permeability of a film is measured over the frequency range from 1 ㎒ to 750㎒. By thickening a CoZrNb film relatively, magnetic permeability and impedance are examine to design the. MI sensor which drives at 50㎒, and thereof fabricated the MI sensor which drives at the 50㎒.

  • Many studies have been investigated on high density plasma source (Electron Cyclotron Resonance[ECR], Inductively Coupled Plasma[ICP], Helicon plasma) for large area source after It is announced that productivity of plasma process depends on plasma density. Among them, Some researchers have been studied on multiple sources In this study, we attempted to determine the possibility of multiple inductively coupled plasma (ICP), and helicon plasma sources for large-area processes. Experiments were performed with the one and two coils to measure plasma and electrical parameters, and a circuit simulation was performed to measure the current at each coil in the 2-coil experiment. Based on the result, we could determine the possibility of multiple ICP sources due to a direct change of impedance due to current and saturation of impedance due to the skin-depth effect. However, a helicon plasma source is difficult to adapt to the multiple sources due to the consistent change of real impedance due to mode transition and the low uniformity of the B-field confinement. As a result, it is expected that ICP can be adapted to multiple source for large-area processes.

Its structure is simple, which makes it easier to prepare a miniature.   • We are designed to control the lipoid variation of the structure system with the stratum corneum on the skin. The skin structure is consisted of a morphology how to use the lipoid component, and the given skin structure is consisted of the mechanical shapes of the intercellular route and transcellular route, and is confirmed to control the variation state of the structure capacity. The skin impedance is appeared to result the value of measurement such as shapes of ${\lambda}-Lip-RSC$, ${\lambda}-Lip-RSL$, ${\lambda}-Lip-CSG$, ${\lambda}-Lip-CSS$ and ${\lambda}-Lip-RSB$. The condition is showed to the alteration difference value of the intercellular route and transcellular route. And, composition condition is established to separate the division parts for conversion system that is constructed with the alteration modeling. We will be possible to progress the improvement effectiveness of the continuous skin control system on the skin.

  • We are made up to the variation of the structure modeling of the stratum corneum by the skin on the hydration. The given skin structure is consist of the control level of the intercellular route and transcellular route, and is confirmed to the variation of the modeling for algorithm. Hydration condition is consisted to modeling by the size, form and combination, that skin impedance is appeared to result the value of measurement by the several layer such as forms of ${\xi}-R-SC-RH$, ${\xi}-R-SL-RH$, ${\xi}-R-SG-RH$, ${\xi}-R-SS-RH$ and ${\xi}-R-SB-RH$. Hydration condition is showed to the alteration difference value of S-Corneum, S-Lucidum, S-Granulosum, S-Spinosum and S-Basale. And, composition condition was constructed with the alteration modeling that was established to separate the division parts for conversion system. We will be possible to progress the improvement effectiveness of the skin and to consist of the continuous hydration control system for functional on the skin.   • This paper presents a development of interface device for electro-oculogram(EOG) signal and it's application to the wireless mouse of wearable PC. The interface device is composed of five bio-electrodes for detecting oculomotor motion, several band-pass filters, instrumentation amplifier and a microprocessor. we have first analyzed impedance characteristics between skin and a bio-electrode. since the impedance highly depends on human face, it's magnitude differs from person. this interface device was applied to develop a wireless mouse for wearable PC, as a Bio Machine Interface(BMI). Where in the prompt on PC monitor is controlled by only EOG signals. this system was implemented in a Head Mount Display(HMD) unit. experimental results show the accuracy of above 90%.

  • Many cellular phone volunteer studies have been conducted since such a social issue is raised that the long time usage of cellular phone may increase health risk. While there were various volunteer studies using GSM cellular phone on heart rate and blood pressure at abroad, very few studies using CDMA phone were conducted in domestic and abroad. In this study, the volunteer groups of 21 adults were exposed at 300 mW for half an hour, and the physiological parameters such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, and skin impedance were measured. All the parameters' results did not reveal any differences between exposure and non-exposure conditions in adults.
