  • 본 연구에서는 조화기진력이 작용하는 구조물에서 보조변수법을 사용하여 치수설계 민감도가 계산되었다. 제한함수는 구조물의 진동응력이고 설계변수는 막구조의 두께, 보구조의 굽힘관성모멘트, 봉구조의 응력이며 신뢰성있는 민감도값이 계산되었다. 민감도값의 크기와 방향이 plot되어 응력에 민감한 부분이 인지되고 정확도는 유한차분치와 비교되었으며, 또한 계산된 민감도가 사용되어 three-bar 구조물의 제한조건이 만족되고 중량이 최소화되는 최적설계가 수행되었다.

통계적 최적화를 위한 확률적 글리치 예측 및 경로 균등화 방법 (Stochastic Glitch Estimation and Path Balancing for Statistical Optimization)

  • 이 논문에서는 공정 변이의 고려를 위한 통계적 시간 분석(statistical timing analysis)에서 전력감소를 고려한 회로의 최적화를 위해 글리치 및 지연시간의 확률적 모델 및 연산을 이용하여 각 경로 및 경로상의 게이트의 민감도(sensitivity)를 계산하고 이를 이용한 사이징(sizing)을 통해 회로의 지연시간의 증가 없이 글리치를 감소하는 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 통계적 시간 분석에 근거한 회로의 전후방 탐색을 이용하여 공정 변수를 고려한 확률적 글리치 발생률을 예측한다. 또한 글리치 발생률을 고려한 게이트의 선택 및 사이징 가능한 지연시간의 최적화된 계산을 통해 효율적인 게이트 사이징 기법과 글리치 감소를 위한 경로균등화 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 효율성은 $0.16{\mu}m$ 모델 파라미터를 이용하여 ISCAS85 벤치마크 회로에 대한 실험을 통해 검증되었다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안된 알고리즘은 글리치 예측에 있어 8.6%의 정확도의 개선을 보였고, 경로균등화에 의한 최적화에 있어 9.5%의 개선을 보였다.

승용차용 터보과급기 로터의 관성모멘트 측정 (Measurement of Inertia of Turbocharger Rotor in a Passenger Vehicle)

  • The turbocharger is an essential component to realize the engine down-sizing. The moment of inertia of turbocharger rotor is an important parameter with respect to acceleration performance of the vehicle. It can be calculated from the CAD software based the geometry data and the material properties. But the accurate value of the inertia of turbocharger rotor must be measured through the experimental method. In this study, the measurement of moment of inertia of turbocharger rotor for 2.0 L spark-ignition engine was carried out. First, an experimental equipment using a trifilar method was designed and fabricated. Some optical devices, that is, photo sensor, counter, convex lens, etc, were used to increase the accuracy of the measurement. Second, error sensitivity for the equipment was analyzed. The error of period time and the radius can give big affects to the accuracy of the moment of inertia. When the amount of error of these two were each 1.0 %, maximum error of the moment of inertia was under 3.0 %. Third, the calibration for the equipment was performed using a calibration rotor which has similar shape to turbine rotor but simple. Calculated value from CAD software and measured one for the calibration rotor were compared. The total error of the equipment and the measurement is about 1.3 %. This result shows that the equipment can give the good result with resonable accuracy. Finally the moment of inertia of the turbine rotor and compressor wheel were measured. The coefficient of variations, the ratio of standard deviation to mean value, were reasonably small at 0.57 % and 0.73 % respectively. Therefore this equipment is suitable for the measurement of the moment of inertia of the turbine rotor and compressor wheel.

  • P/M enables the economical production of components for many kinds of gears. Functionally, the sub gear requires high tooth accuracy and bending fatigue strength. The whole tooth profile was sized after sintering to satisfy the gear tooth accuracy specification. The part was redesigned to reduce machining requirements. The required bending fatigue strength was achieved through appropriate material choice and induction of compressive residual stress by shotpeening after carburizing. The P/M sub gear replaced a forged steel gear, satisfied performance requirements, expanded the use of P/M applications and provided over 30% cost reduction.

  • This study is aimed at the application of the apparel size system to be applied for the Internet shopping mall in Korea. Especially this is focused on the presumption of the body measurement according to the age groups and the figure groups. In this regard, a sizing system is to be developed that could be used to approach consumers more easily and provide more fitness and accuracy in terms of size. The target study was on a group of women nineteen to forty-nine years of age. The 4th National Anthropometry Survey data were used in the examination. The results in the study are as follows ; (1) On the Internet apparel shopping malls in relation with this study, no matter what size in the ready-to-wear enterprises was selected by the consumers who once put their information in the member registration, the most appropriate sizes for them are automatically given and transferred to the order forms of chosen enterprises with aid of internal programs of the internet webpage. In addition, when consumers enter their body sizes in the units that are familiar to them, such as inches or centimeters, the units are automatically programed so that they can be converted for the sake of convenience. ; (2) To extract an estimation equation of body size through Multiple Regression Analysis, the circumferences of chest and hip could be presumed by stature, weight, and waist circumference of which most consumers were well aware. For more accurate regression equations, groupings were made in the three categories of age(19∼29/30∼39/40∼49) and in the three body types(Type N, A and H). Then, the regression equations were established for three sectors, $\circled1$ 'chest circumference not filled up', $\circled2$ 'hip circumference not filled up' and $\circled3$ 'neither filled up for chest nor for hip circumference'.   • 시판 드레스셔츠의 치수 구분 적합성 (The Suitability of the Size Classification of Dress Shirts on the Market)

    • This study provides basic data that are helpful to prepare a sizing system for dress shirts that improves the wearer's size fitness. The 16 different parts of the dress shirts were measured for 24 pieces of dress shirts with three kinds of size (95, 100 and 105) among the eight different brands on the market. The measurement sizes of the dress shirts analyzed the accuracy of the size information, size classification by size designation, and differences of size by brand. The results of the study were: 1. The size information of dress shirts differed from customer demand. 2. The size increments between size designations differed from each other even though measurement sizes of the dress shirts increased as the size designation increase. 3. Measurement sizes of the dress shirts were different between brands even for dress shirts of the same size designation. It is necessary that manufacturers secure an accurate and standardized sizing system and provide accurate information for the measurement sizes of dress shirts on an online shopping mall.

    등속조인트용 외륜의 다단 냉간 단조공정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Multi-Stage Cold Forging for an Outer Race of a CV Joint)

    • This study deals with a series of experimental investigations on multi-stage cold forging of an outer race used for a constant velocity (CV) joint with six inner ball grooves. The multi-stage cold forging, which consists of forward extrusion, upsetting, backward extrusion, and combined sizing-necking including ironing, was used to produce a prototype of the outer race. The cold forging tools such as forging punches and dies required in this multi-stage cold forging were also designed and fabricated. For the combined sizing-necking, especially, the longitudinally six-segmentallized punches were developed to easily eject from the necked inner groove of the outer race with consideration of the operating mechanism. Spheroidized SCr420H billet was used in the experimental study. To verify the suitability of the proposed process, the obtained parts were obtained from each forging operation, and the geometries were compared with the target dimensions. It was confirmed that the outer race with six inner ball grooves was well forged by adopting the proposed multi-stage cold forging, and the dimensional accuracy of the forged outer race matched well with the requirements.

    Development of a Physics-Based Design Framework for Aircraft Design using Parametric Modeling

    • Handling constantly evolving configurations of aircraft can be inefficient and frustrating to design engineers, especially true in the early design phase when many design parameters are changeable throughout trade-off studies. In this paper, a physics-based design framework using parametric modeling is introduced, which is designated as DIAMOND/AIRCRAFT and developed for structural design of transport aircraft in the conceptual and preliminary design phase. DIAMOND/AIRCRAFT can relieve the burden of labor-intensive and time-consuming configuration changes with powerful parametric modeling techniques that can manipulate ever-changing geometric parameters for external layout of design alternatives. Furthermore, the design framework is capable of generating FE model in an automated fashion based on the internal structural layout, basically a set of design parameters describing the structural members in terms of their physical properties such as location, spacing and quantities. The design framework performs structural sizing using the FE model including both primary and secondary structural levels. This physics-based approach improves the accuracy of weight estimation significantly as compared with empirical methods. In this study, combining a physics-based model with parameter modeling techniques delivers a high-fidelity design framework, remarkably expediting otherwise slow and tedious design process of the early design phase.

    • A manufacturing process for a clutch gear which demands high strength and wear resistance, was developed by means of computer simulation. A preform was made by hot forging process and subsequent cold sizing process is applied to complete precise tooth part. Processes to obtain high dimensional accuracy and superior mechanical properties are analyzed and optimal heat treatment cycle to improve cold forgeability is introduced. Prototype was produced and the dimensional accuracy of the prototype was inspected to verify proposed process.

    Personalized Size Recommender System for Online Apparel Shopping: A Collaborative Filtering Approach

    • 본 연구는 의류의 디자인 간 치수의 불일치와 비표준화로 인해 온라인 구매 시 발생하는 치수 선택의 오류 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위해 수행되었다. 본 논문은 구매자에게 개인화된 치수를 제시할 수 있는 기계 학습 기반 추천 시스템의 구현 방안을 다루고 있다. 온라인 상거래로부터 발생된 구매 데이터를 사용하여 비음수 행렬 분해(NMF), 특이값 행렬 분해(SVD), k-최근접 이웃(KNN), 공동 클러스터링(Co-Clustering) 등 여러 검증된 협업 필터링 알고리즘을 훈련하였고, 이들 간에 성능을 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 비음수 행렬 분해 (NMF) 알고리즘이 다른 알고리즘들보다 뛰어난 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다. 동일한 계정을 사용하는 여러 구매자가 포함되는 구매 데이터의 특성에도 불구하고, 제안 모형은 충분한 정확도를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 치수 선택의 오류로 인한 반품률을 감소하고 전자상거래 플랫폼에서의 고객 경험을 향상시키는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
