  • The column for Steel Framed Reinforced Concrete Structure (SFRCS) and the column for Reinforced Concrete Structure (RCS) could be the most common building structure. The increasing of the need for massive space hasaffected the size of building components for supporting the massive structure. However, the changing of components size makes inefficient space of building. Hence. to meet the need for acquiring efficient space comparing the budget and cost the new structure method, Concrete Filled Tube Steel (CFT), was developed. CFT is the structure for which steel tube instead of other materials such as wood for holding concrete is used. The most benefit of this one is to help in reducing the size of the building components and local buckling because of tube steel holding concrete. For this reason, this research will examine the probability of applying CFT on construction sites by using the concrete $(800kg/cm^2)$ especially for CFT through the data from the real size mock-up.

Impact of Balance between Productivities on Repetitive Construction Projects

  • Fast delivery of construction projects provides more value to project owners. Batch production, which is production not in single pieces, but in batches, is a common approach in repetitive construction projects such as multi-unit residential building construction projects. In batch production, the use of a small batch size allows the early start of subsequent activities, and thus can lead to early completion of projects. In addition to batch size, balance between productivities in construction activities can affect project duration. However, the impact of the balance between productivities with regard to their order on project duration has not been studied. The main goal of this study is to test a hypothesis, which is that the order of construction activities' unbalanced productivities affects the amount of time reduction that can be achieved by using a small batch size. A computer-based simulation model was developed, and five different cases were simulated to test the hypothesis. The conclusion of the simulation result is that the order of productivities does not affect the time reduction achieved by using a small batch size. It is expected that the findings of this study can help general contractors make decisions in terms of batch size.

  • Trigonometric functions is the study based on the most simple and unique properties of right triangle that if an angular size was settled, the value of the ratio of these sides is constant regardless of the size of the triangle. If it is the angle of right triangle with the length of the lower base and the measured angle of building, the height of the building can be obtained by using trigonometry. it is considered as a good way to gauge the height of the building as the car moves.

  • Construction companies are now trying a variety of cost-cutting strategies in the midst of recent slump of construction market. Notably, contract workers and local hires are accounting for increasing portion of management manpower as a part of their cost-reduction drive. However, construction site manpower researches to date have focused primarily on productivity analysis of site laborers, with little attention to the productivity of site management resources. This study aims to analyze the staffing status of office building construction site management manpower in reference to project size. Conclusions herein will provide basic inputs for subsequent attempts to build a model to enable efficient staffing of construction site management manpower.

  • My questionaire survey revealed that even those experts that engage in architectural design did not precisely understand much of the regulations concerning ground-level. In terms of restricting the size of the building area, the generous policy of excluding balconies and basements from the calculation of building size actually causes problems. As far as the right to sunshine is concerned, the weighted average ground-level is determined to be the ground-level standard of the neighboring plot when the neighboring plot is a sloping bare ground. When the difference of heights is over 3 meters, it would be appropriate to assess the weighted ground-level standard every 3 meters.

Development of HVAC System to Lower the Conveyance Energy and Building Height

  • The new HVAC system is developed to lower the conveyance energy and building height using IAV(Increasing Air Volume) technique. IAV units which are equipped in each zone carry out air-conditioning and supply fresh air by induction of outdoor air in main duct. The design program which decides size of OAHU and IAV unit according to air conditioning load and fresh air demand of each zone is presented. The control system is developed to operate efficiently HVAC system and IAV unit, so that individual zone operation and well-deal with partial load and IAQ problem are possible. The new system is investigated in model building and makes more profit in conveyance energy. size of air conditioning facilities room and building height than VAV system. But in construction cost it is worse by about 15 percentage.

  • Analysis on structural effects which are reduction of friction coefficient and increase of tendon area by HDPE greased and large size strand in post-tensioning system of reactor containment building was carried out. Effective ratio of tendon force increases 67% to 83% by HDPE greased strand and vertical, horizontal internal section forces increased maximum 51%, 41% respectively. Tendon quantity could be reduced 30% by large size and HDPE greased strand that can maintain safety of ultimate internal pressure same as at present.

  • There are the relevant provisions that apply to building regulations about the Building codes, Fire Protection laws, and more Multi-using interior finish materials businesses etc. The differences between these regulations are as follows: The Building codes is defined the main use of the building according to facilities to used to set the scale by the use of the floor space, On the other hand, Fire Protection laws are the basic purpose and the act of using the architectural space(or sales) by separating object by fire. And Multiple-using Businesses Facilities consist of two regulations engaged in the kind of law and the size of the floor area. One building can not be based on operating facilities and together in Multiple use businesses Law. As such, the Buildings are applied to the Building codes, Fire Protection laws, such as Multi-using Businesses Facilities interior construction industry due to the structural differences in the position of the designer feeling a lot of difficulties and confusion. The Multi-use businesses Facilities engage in the kind of law, the size of the floor area and seating capacity. These can not be based on operating facilities, and consists of two regulations together in one building. This study is purposed to help improving the finish of the interior architecture that is related to the Building code regulations, Fire Protection laws, Multi-using Facilities interior finishing material relevant with the provisions from the law through analyze the case of developed countries, and the current Multiple use Businesses Facilities research range from the law of multiple-using facilities, interior finishing, interior architecture for supervision reasonably and compensation for the interior design. So, Result is as follows: First, interior decorations can be separated the fixed material and the moveable things. second, It should be included multi-using Business though small size business space at the basement floor. third, It should be established statute law that design and construction responsibility. forth, re-testing fire resist performance after some period. and finally, it need to mitigate regulation where be installed sprinkler.

A Study on the roof curved ratio and slope of Korean Traditional Wooden Building - Focused on the Central Hall of Buddhist Temple - (전통목조건축물 지붕곡과 기울기에 관한 연구 - 사찰의 주불전을 중심으로 -)

  • The aim of this study was to classify the central Buddhist temple among the state-designated cultural assets, which were measured precisely, into the gable roof buildings and the gambrel roof buildings to analyze the Ang-Goak, Inside waist, ridge ratio, and roof inclination represented on the roof, and prepare basic objective material for the restoration and repair of cultural assets. As a result, as for the relationship between the roof curve and the inclination of the gable roof building and gambrel roof building, the following conclusions could be drawn. First, the Ang-Goak and Inside waist of the gable roof building had a close correlation with the building size, and the internal high pillar existence. In addition, the Ang-Goak and Inside waist were shown in the 7-ryangga structure, which is greater in size than in the 5-ryangga structure. This was found to be related to the building size. Second, the Ang-Goak and Inside waist of the gable roof building has a correlation with each other, and it was found that Inside waist also was large in the building with a larger Ang-Goak. The roof inclination rarely had a connection with variable factors (plane factor, elevation factor, and cross section factor). The sizes of Ang-Goak, Inside waist, and ridge ratio were similar in the outside 1 chulmok and outside 2 chulmok of gongpo but those sizes were relatively larger in outside 3 chulmok. Third, the Ang-Goak and Inside waist of the gambrel roof building moved independently for each building without a correlation with each other, unlike the case of the gable roof building. The front and the side showed a correlation with each other, and in the building with the large curve of the front side, the curve was also large in the sides. Fourth, in the case of the building with a high pillar inside the gambrel roof building, the Ang-Goak and Inside waist were larger. On the other hand, they were smaller in the case of a building without a high pillar. This was found to have a close relationship with the building size. In addition, the ridge ratio has a close connection with the building size and building height. Therefore, the ridge ratio is larger in a high building or large sized building. The roof inclination rarely has a correlation with variable factors, as in the case of the gable roof building.
