This study investigated the location of grading lines and grading amount for a jacket item by the target age groups (20-30, 30-40, and 40-50) for 17 women's wear brands. This study then utilized 7th SizeKorea data to analyze the increase rate of body size and to suggest the grading deviation distribution ratio of the jackets using regression analysis. The increase in neck girth of the jackets targeting aged 30-40s did not reflect the human body change rate. The shoulder length increased by 4.6%-8.1% with the bust girth increase; however, the brands produced longer shoulder length reflecting 20-35% of the bust girth increase. The armhole girth was 54.9% - 59.7% of bust circumstance increase rate. However, the 20-30 target age group brands distributed 80% of bust girth to armhole girth and the 30-40 and the 40-50 target age group brands distributed 50% of the bust girth to armhole. In particular, the 20-30 target age group brands were found to produce a large margin around the armhole. When it came to length items, the brands targeting 20-30s and the 40-50s reflected deviation distribution rate of length from underarm to waist and length from waist to hip in comparison with the overall jacket length deviation. The 30-40 target age group brands, 8 out of 20 brands distributed the jacket length deviation in the length from the back of neck to the underarm; consequently, only 22% percent should be distributed in this part.

Rapid Prototyping(RP) techniques have unique characteristics according to their working principle: the stair-stepped surface of a part due to layer-by-layer stacking, low building speed, and additional post-processing to improve surface roughness. A new RP process, Variable Lamination Manufacturing by using expandable polystyrene foam(VLM-S), has been developed to overcome the unfavorable characteristics. The objective of this study is to investigate the thermal characteristics and skeleton size effects as the hotwire cuts EPS foam sheet in order to improve dimensional accuracy of the parts, which is produced by VLM-S. Empirical and analytical approaches are performed to find the relationship between cutting speed and heat input, and the relationship between maximum available cutting speed and heat input. In addition, empirical approaches are carried out to find the relationship between cutting error and skeleton size, and cutting deviation and skeleton size. Based on these results, the optimal hotwire cutting condition and available minimum skeleton size are derived. The outcomes of this study are reflecting in the enhancement of VLM-S input data generation S/W.
In the data from synthetic resin makers, there is no shrinkage deviation through injection molding. But, after making the required products, even in the same conditions, there are some size-deviation in colors. Into our research, we checked main factor by the injection molding conditions. Our tests have shown this results, there are some shrinkage deviation in collors and, in the injection molding conditions, packing pressure is the main factor.

This study is about the process capability index (PCI). In this study, we introduce several indices including the index $C_{PR}$ and present the characteristics of the $C_{PR}$ as well as its validity. The difference between the other indices and the $C_{PR}$ is the way we use to estimate the standard deviation. Calculating the index, most indices use sample standard deviation while the index $C_{PR}$ uses range R. The sample standard deviation is generally a better estimator than the range R. But in the case of the panel process, the $C_{PR}$ has more consistency than the other indices at the point of non-conforming ratio which is an important term in quality control. The reason why the $C_{PR}$ using the range has better consistency is explained by introducing the concept of 'flatness ratio'. At least one million cells are present in one panel, so we can't inspect all of them. In estimating the PCI, it is necessary to consider the inspection cost together with the consistency. Even though we want smaller sample size at the point of inspection cost, the small sample size makes the PCI unreliable. There is 'trade off' between the inspection cost and the accuracy of the PCI. Therefore, we should obtain as large a sample size as possible under the allowed inspection cost. In order for $C_{PR}$ to be used throughout the industry, it is necessary to analyze the characteristics of the $C_{PR}$. Because the $C_{PR}$ is a kind of index including subgroup concept, the analysis should be done at the point of sample size of the subgroup. We present numerical analysis results of $C_{PR}$ by the data from the random number generating method. In this study, we also show the difference between the $C_{PR}$ using the range and the $C_P$ which is a representative index using the sample standard deviation. Regression analysis was used for the numerical analysis of the sample data. In addition, residual analysis and equal variance analysis was also conducted.
This paper proves that the standard bootstrap approximation for the least absolute deviation (LAD) estimate of .beta. in AR(1) processes with infinite variance error terms is asymptotically valid in probability when the bootstrap resample size is much smaller than the original sample size. The theoretical validity results are supported by simulation studies.
The High-frequency (30 ∼ 120 ㎑) bottom reflection loss at rough water-sediment interface is affected by the gram size distribution of the sediments. The roughness of the bottom surface is represented by "acoustical roughness. g/sub R/" The grain size of sandy sediments is g/sub R/∼O(1) and the dependence as a function of frequency. We suggest the modified bottom reflection loss model (HYBRL model , HanYang university Bottom Reflection Loss model) that include in the deviation of the reflection loss as a function of the grain size distribution and frequency dependence. And bottom reflection loss model of frequency dependence and deviation of bottom properties is verified by water tank and field experiments.
Lot sizing and shipment scheduling are two interrelated decisions made by a manufacturing plant and a third-party logistics distribution center. This paper analyzes a dynamic inbound ordering problem and shipment problem with a freight container cost, in which the order size of multiple products and single container type are simultaneously considered. In the problem, each ordered product placed in a period is immediately shipped by some freight containers in the period, and the total freight cost is proportional to the number of containers employed. It is assumed that the load size of each product is equal and backlogging is not allowed. The objective of this study is to simultaneously determine the lot-sizes and the shipment schedule that minimize the total costs, which consist of production cost, inventory holding cost, and freight cost. Because the problem is NP-hard, we propose three meta-heuristic algorithms: a simulated annealing algorithm, a genetic algorithm, and a new population-based evolutionary meta-heuristic called self-evolution algorithm. The performance of the meta-heuristic algorithms is compared with a local search heuristic proposed by the previous paper in terms of the average deviation from the optimal solution in small size problems and the average deviation from the best one among the replications of the meta-heuristic algorithms in large size problems.
This paper considers internal pressure fluctuations for a range of building volumes and dominant wall opening areas. The study recognizes that the air flow in and out of the dominant opening in the envelope generates Helmholtz resonance, which can amplify the internal pressure fluctuations compared to the external pressure, at the opening. Numerical methods were used to estimate fluctuating standard deviation and peak (i.e. design) internal pressures from full-scale measured external pressures. The ratios of standard deviation and peak internal pressures to the external pressures at a dominant windward wall opening of area, AW are presented in terms of the non-dimensional opening size to volume parameter, $S^*=(a_s/\bar{U}_h)^2(A_W^{3/2}/V_{Ie})$ where $a_s$ is the speed of sound, $\bar{U}_h$ is the mean wind speed at the top of the building and $V_{Ie}$ is the effective internal volume. The standard deviation of internal pressure exceeds the external pressures at the opening, for $S^*$ greater than about 0.75, showing increasing amplification with increasing $S^*$. The peak internal pressure can be expected to exceed the peak external pressure at the opening by 10% to 50%, for $S^*$ greater than about 5. A dominant leeward wall opening also produces similar fluctuating internal pressure characteristics.

In radiotherapy, it may happen to radiate surrounding normal tissue because of inconsistent field size by changing patient position during treatment. We are going to analyze errors reduced by using immobilization device with Electonic portal imaging device(EPID) in this study. We had treated the twenty-one patients in pelvic region with 10 MV X-ray from Aug. 1998 to Aug. 1999 at Chungnam National University Hospital. All patients were treated at supine position during treatment. They were separated to two groups, 11 patients without device and 10 patients with immobilization device. We used styrofoam for immobilization device and measured the errors of anterior direction for x, y axis and lateral direction for z, y axis from simulation film to EPID image using matching technique. For no immobilization device group, the mean deviation values of x axis and y axis are 0.19 mm. 0.48 mm, respectively and the standard deviations of systematic deviation are 2.38 mm, 2.19 mm, respectively and of random deviation for x axis and y axis are 1.92 mm. 1.29 mm, respectively. The mean deviation values of z axis and y axis are -3.61 mm. 2.07 mm, respectively and the standard deviations of systematic deviation are 3.20 mm, 2.29 mm, respectively and of random deviation for z axis and y axis are 2.73 mm. 1.62 mm, respectively. For immobilization device group, the mean deviation values of x axis and y axis are 0.71 mm. -1.07 mm, respectively and the standard deviations of systematic deviation are 1.80 mm, 2.26 mm, respectively and of random deviation for x axis and y axis are 1.56 mm. 1.27 mm, respectively. The mean deviation values of z axis and y axis are -1.76 mm. 1.08 mm, respectively and the standard deviations of systematic deviation are 1.87 mm, 2.83 mm, respectively and of random deviation for x axis and y axis are 1.68 mm, 1.65 mm, respectively. Because of reducing random and systematic error using immobilization device, we had obtained good reproducibility of patient setup during treatment so that we recommend the use of immobilization device in pelvic region of radiation treatment.
Consider the following problem in the large deviation theory. For constants $a_1, \cdots, a_p$ the tail probability $P(M_1 > a_1, \cdots, M_p > a_p)$ of the sample medians $(M_1, \cdots, M_p)$ is supposed to converge to zero as sample size increases. This paper shows that this probability converges to zero exponentially fast and estimates the convergence rates of the above tail probability of the sample medians. Also compare with the rates about the sample means.
