3차원 자유표면 유동의 수치 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Three Dimensional Free Surface Flow)

  • For the tracking of three dimensional free surface motions, a method referred to as the Volume of Fluid(VOF) algorithm is extended. In order to calculate the slope of three dimensional free surface which is the most important for the advection algorithm that decides the amount of fluid from cell to cell and for the application of free surface boundary condition, a simple method utilizing two dimensional slope informations is introduced. The extended algroithm is tested by demonstrating the simulation of a propagating sinusoidal wave through the channel whose width changes abruptly.

  • This paper describes a cross-regulation characteristics of a multi-output LLC resonant converter widely used in consumer electronics. The output characteristics of the multi-output LLC converter is derived from the assumption that the current and voltage to flow through the resonant network is sinusoidal and the duty loss is investigated. The simulation results are provided to verify the theoretic results.

  • MR(Magneto-rheological) fluid is smart fluid that can change its characteristics then magnetic fields are applied. Recently, many researches have been performed on this MR fluid for the application in a vareity of areas including automobile shock absorbers. This paper describes the design procedure of a MR damper and the analysis results of its dynamic characteristics. MR fluid in the magnetic field shows initial yield shear stress and increasing resistive viscosity with final saturation thereafter. Herschel-Bulkley model is used to simulate the flow characteristics of MR fluid and magnetic analysis is used to identify the magnetic property of the MR fluid in the orifice of the damper. The dynamic characteristics of the damper was predicted and compared with the experimental results for typical sinusoidal excitations.

  • Mathematical modeling provided a systematic analysis for the dynamic behavior of stock fluid in a paper machine pressurized headbox. Dynamic responses of liquid level, sheet basis weight and hydraulic pressure were predicted from the simulation model which represents the system. A unit step and asinusoidal wave load were considered as the input forcing functions in the headbox. Results are summarized as follows : 1. The dependence of sheet basis weight on liquid level in the pressurized-headbox was non -linear. 2. Liquid level in the head-box showed first-order lag with a unit step forcing to fluid input rate ; 3 . The amplitude of wave response of liquid level was inversely proportional to the time content for the sinusoidal input changes ; 4.Sheet basis weight showed second-order oscillating underamped responses for the step input load of flow rate ; 5. The damping factor in the second-order system was a function of air-pressure in the headbox ; and, 6. Dead-time existed in the measuring process for the headbox slice pressure.

  • The purposes of this study were to perform theoretical analysis of an electronic-hydraulic hitch control system for position and draft control of tractor implements and to investigate the performance of the control system through computer simulation. Computer simulation models which could predict the responses of the system to the step and sinusoidal inputs in position and draft controls were developed using the simulation package "TUTSIM". The effects of control mode, hydraulic flow rate, deadband, and proportional constant on control performance of the system were investigated. The simulated results were compard with the experimental ones to verify the simulation models. The simulation models appeared to be a useful means for the analysis and the design of the electronic-hydraulic hitch control system.

  • This paper proposes a new power converter which consists of two identical 3-phase PWM modulators and a novel resonant circuit. A new control strategy is integrated to realize the bidirectional power converter without an electrolytic link capacitor. The power flow between converters is bidirectional and the regenerative braking is inherent. The source side currents maintain sinusoidal waveforms with a unity power factor. It is observed in the experiment that by balancing the active power between the source and load side, the voltage across a small ceramic link capacitor can be maintained within a small deviation from the reference. Simulation results and experimental results are presented to verify the operational principles.

  • In order to improve the stall characteristics of the Wells turbine blade, experimental investigations have been made in the performance of the Wells turbine with 1), 2) grooved blade surface to reduce fraction drag against the steady and the sinusoidal flow condition. As the conclusion, the two methods are valid to improve the stall characteristics of the Wells turbine.

  • The present paper deals with the numerical study to analyze the self-starting performance of impulse turbine in a reciprocating air flow generated by sinusoidal motion of wave inside oscillating water column. Result was compared to that of Wells turbine, well-known wave energy conversion device, and showed that the impulse turbine has a superior self-starting ability. More detailed parametric study was performed to demonstrate the effects of moment of inertia of rotor, loading torque, tip clearance and angle of guide vane.

  • This paper describes the design, construction and implementation of matrix converter based on space vector modulation technique. The matrix converter provides sinusoidal input and output wave forms, bidirectional power flow, controllable input power factor and a compact design, compared to the VSI with diode rectification stage at the input. The implemented prototype of matrix converter is built using the exclusive IGBT module and has an input filter, overvoltage protection circuit and commutation means for overcoming practical issues. The good results tested using an induction motor are also presented.

  • Combination the several type of single phase power conversion utilized simply topology are proposed in this paper. Totally four kind of converter are investigated, they are Boost AC/AC Converter, Buck AC/AC Converter, Boost AC/DC Converter, and Buck DC/AC Converter. Two types action mode are presented to determine the functional of circuit. First is AC chopper action mode, representation of the AC/AC converter. AC chopper action mode offered the sinusoidal current waveform, better power factor, faster dynamics, and smaller input/output filter. They present high robustness, offer safe commutation and have high efficiency. The second is full bridge action mode, determined the transformation AC to DC power and otherwise. Four switching devices and one magnetic contactor will establish the mode operation of circuit and manage the flow of power proceed in proper. The correction and advance of the kind of converter are verified by simulation.
