IS-95역방향 링크에서 단일 적분 및 이중 적분 검색 방식의 성능 분석 (Performance evaluation of the single-dwell and double-dwell detection schemes in the IS-95 reverse link)

  • This paper considers the evaluation of the ecquistion performance for an accesschannel preamble based on a random access procedure of direct sequence code division multiple access(DS/CDMA) reverse link. The parallel acquistion technique that employs the single-well detection scheme and the multiple-dwell(double-dwell) detection scheme is mentioned. The acquisition performance for two detection schemes is compared in therms of the acquisition probability and the acquisition time. The parallel acquisition is done by a bank of N parallel I/Q noncoherent correlators. Expressions on the detection, false alarm, and miss probabilities of the single-dwell and multiple-dwell(double-well) detection schemes are derived for multiple H$_{1}$ cells and multipath Rayleight fading channel. comparing the single-dwell detection scheme with the multiple-dwell(double-dwell) detection scheme in the case of employing the parallel acquisition technique in the reverse link,the numerical results show that the single-dwell detection scheme deomonstrates a better performance.

실내 무선 환경에서 UWB 시스템을 위한 고속 두 단계 동기 획득 알고리즘 (A Rapid Two-Step Acquisition Algorithm for UWB Systems in Indoor Wireless Channels)

  • 본 논문에서는 전형적인 실내 무선 채널 환경에서 초광대역 (Ultra Wide Band; UWB) 신호의 고속 동기 획득을 위한 두 단계 (Two-Step) 탐색 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법은 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘을 이용한 Single-Dwell 연속 동기 탐색 기법에 기초하고 있으며, 하나의 상관기에 연속적으로 두 개의 다른 임계값과 탐색창 (Search Window)을 적용한다. IEEE 802.15 Task Group 3a UWB 실내 무선 채널 환경에서의 모의실험 결과, 기존의 Single-Dwell Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘 뿐 아니라 두 개의 상관기를 이용하는 복잡한 구조의 Double-Dwell Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘보다도 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법의 정규화된 평균 동기 획득 소요 시간이 은 폭으로 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, 제안 .기법은 잡음이 인가된 환경에서도 빠르고 신뢰성 있는 동기 획득 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

An Efficient Code Acquisition Scheme for DSSS-based Real-Time Locating Systems

  • This paper proposes an efficient code acquisition scheme for direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) based real-time locating systems (RTLS). The proposed scheme employs multiple bit integration to significantly decrease false alarms when no packet signal is transmitted and increase the detection probability when the RTLS tags are excited. The performance of the proposed code acquisition scheme is analyzed and numerically evaluated, and compared with those of single-dwell and traditional double-dwell code acquisition schemes. The simulation results show that the proposed multiple-bit integration scheme outperforms single-dwell and double-dwell schemes.

Calibration of Timetable Parameters for Rail-Guided Systems

  • In order to achieve a comprehensive utilization of railway networks, it is necessary to accurately assess the timetable indicators that effect the train operation. This paper describes the parameter calibration for two timetable indicators: scheduled running time and scheduled dwell time. For the scheduled running time, an existing model is employed and the single timetable parameter (percentage of minimum running time) in that model is optimized. For the scheduled dwell time, two intrinsic characteristics: the significance of stations and the average headway at each station are proposed firstly to form a new model, and the corresponding timetable parameters (the weight of the significance and the weight of the average headway) are calibrated subsequently. The Floyd Algorithm is used to obtain the connectivity among stations, which represents the significance of the stations. A case study is conducted in a light rail transportation system with 17 underground stations. The results of this research show that the optimal value of the scheduled running time parameter can be automatically determined, and the proposed model for the scheduled dwell time works well with a high coefficient of determination and low relative root mean square error through the leave-one-out validation.

실내 무선 환경에서 프레임 및 탐색 단위 구간에 따른 UWB 신호 동기 획득 알고리즘의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of UMB Signal Acquisition Algorithms According to Frame Interval and Bin Spacing in indoor Wireless Channels)

  • 본 논문에서는 전형적인 실내 무선 채널 환경에서 초광대역 (Ultra Wide Band; UWB) 신호의 고속 동기 획득을 위한 Single-Dwell 연속 통기 탐색 기반의 Linear 탐색 알고리즘 및 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘에 대한 성능분석을 수행하였다. IEEE 802.15 Task Group 3a UWB 실내 무선 채널 환경에서 프레임 구간 및 탐색 단위 구간 등의 변화에 따른 모의실험 결과. Linear 탐색 알고리즘보다 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘이 정규화된 평균 동기 획득 소요 시간에 대해 단연 우수함을 확인하였으며, 탐색 종료 구간의 범위 변화에 따른 정규화된 평균 동기 획득 소요 시간이 이상적인 경우와 거의 일치함을 확인하였다. 특히, Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘의 경우 탐색 단위 구간이 세밀할수록 동일한 소요 시간에 대해 더욱 정확한 동기 획득 성능을 얻음을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Shuttle-Based Storage/Retrieval System (SBS/RS) is relatively new to industry. The system is in the category of Automated Storage/Retrieval System (AS/RS), but it is different in that the SBS/RS uses shuttles as Storage/Retrieval (SR) machine instead using a stacker crane. The shuttles are assigned to each tier on multi-tier system and operated for pick-up or drop-off order. Since the system can handle multiple orders simultaneously, it can provide much higher throughput than that of general AS/RS with single stocker crane. Thus, this new system is well fit to recent tendency of increasing small quantity batch production and orders. One of the drawback of this system is that it needs a lot of investment to set up. The efficient operation of the system would be one of the critical matters to increase economic efficiency of capital investment. In this study, we focused on the dwell point policy for shuttles to find efficient way of operating the system. There are four basic policies for the dwell point and we had simulation-based experiment for two different scenarios based on the speed of the shuttle and inter-arrival time of the loads coming to the system combined with four different policies. As it was mentioned above, this SBS/RS relatively new to the field and there is no such experiment shown on previous research and the study of dwell point policy for this SBS/RS could provide the direct comparison of each policy with different hardware specification; the capability of the system. The policy that achieves most efficient operation among the given environment is proposed and the usability of the system is discussed.

고속 고신뢰의 UWB 신호 동기획득을 위한 향상된 두 단계 탐색 기법 (Enhanced Two-Step Search Scheme for Rapid and Reliable UWB Signal Acquisition)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중경로 채널 환경의 초광대역 (Ultra Wide Band; UWB) 시스템에서 고속 고신뢰의 동기획득을 위한 향상된 두 단계 신호 탐색 기법인 TSS-LS(Two-Step Search scheme with the Linear search based Second step) 를 제안한다. 제안된 TSS-LS는 기존에 본 저자들이 제안하였던 TSS-BS (Two-Step Search scheme with the Bit reversal search based Second step)와 견줄만한 매우 빠른 동기획득 성능을 달성할 수 있도록 Single-Dwell 연속 동기탐색 기법에 기초하고 있으며 두 개의 다른 임계값과 탐색창을 적용한다. 반면, 제안된 TSS-LS는 UWB 시스템에서 통기획득의 고신뢰성을 보장하기 위해 두번째 단계에서 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘을 사용하는 TSS-BS와는 달리 Linear 탐색 알고리즘을 적용하게 된다. IEEE 802.15.3a의 UWB 다중경로 채별 환경에서의 모의실험 결과, 일반적인 탐색 기법보다 본 논문에서 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법의 정규화된 평균 동기획득 소요 시간이 큰 폭으로 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, 신호 동기획득 과정과 연동된 비트오율 성능 평가에서 제안된 TSS-LS 기법의 경우 높은 신호대 잡음비에 대해 이상적인 성능에 필적하는 매우 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Study on the Growth of Monoclinic VO2 Phase Applicable for Thermochromic Ceramic Tile

  • Vanadium dioxide ($VO_2$) of monoclinic phase exhibits Metal Insulator Phase Transition (MIPT) phenomenon involving a sharp change in electrical and optical properties at $68^{\circ}C$. Solution-based process is applied to form uniform $VO_2$ coating layer on ceramic tiles. This can selectively block the near-infrared light to possibly reduce the energy loss and prevent dew condensation caused by the temperature difference. Heat treatment conditions including temperature and dwell time were examined to obtain a monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase. Both rutile and monoclinic $VO_2$ phases were observed from in the tiles post-annealed below $700^{\circ}C$. Desired monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase was grown in the tiles heat treated at $750^{\circ}C$. Nano facets of irregular size were observed in the monoclinic $VO_2$ phase involving the phase-transition. Grain growth of monoclinic $VO_2$ phase was observed as a function of dwell time at $750^{\circ}C$.

배치 인출 창고시스템에서 저장/인출 차량의 주문 인출 소요시간 (The order Picking Time of the S/R Vehicle in a Batch Picking Warehouse System)

  • This paper addresses the analysis of the travel distance and order picking time of the vehicle in a aisle when items are picked by the batch in a warehouse system. Batching is to combine several orders in a single tour of the storage/retrieval machine. An advantage of batching is that the length of a tour for a batch of orders is shorter than the sum of the individual orders' tour lengths. The average travel distance and order picking time when a batch is picked in a aisle of the warehouse systems are analyzed for the batch size. And when the vehicle is idle, the dwell point of the vehicle to minimize to the response distance is analyzed. As the batch size is increased, average order picking time per item is decreased. The problem is analyzed and a numerical example is showed to explain the problem.

  • There are many elements that affect the average torque of the single phase SRM. It is related with the stator and rotor pole arcs, the dwell angle of the exciting current, the turn on/off angle, etc., Most of all, the turn on/off angle is affect the design procedure of the driving and control circuit. So, in this study, it is intend to analyze the effect that the variations of the turn on/off angle affects the average torque. and then this analyses will be used to design the control driver of the single phase SRM.
