주파수 영역 등화기를 사용하는 단일 반송파 전송 시스템을 위한 저 전력 전송 기법 (Low Power Transmission Technique for Single-Carrier Modulation with Frequency Domain Equalization)

  • This paper proposes a low power transmission technique for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization. As time domain signals and frequency domain signals have unique corresponding functions, inserting zeros after each symbol causes a repetition in other domain, so maximal ratio combining technique using repetitive transmission can be applied in the frequency domain. In this paper, we configure transmit signals to insert zeros after each symbols for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization and maximal ratio receive combining block in the receiver structures, propose a structure for transmitter and receiver and show that its performance is better than the traditional algorithm by simulations.

Póincare Sphere Analysis of the Pretilt Angle Effect on the Viewing Angle of a Single-Domain FFS Liquid-Crystal Mode

  • We demonstrated the pretilt angle effect on the viewing angle properties of a single-domain fringe-field switching (FFS) liquid crystal (LC) mode. By performing the Póincare sphere analysis, we investigated, in detail, the origin of the viewing angle asymmetry that exists in the single-domain FFS LC mode both in the field-on and field-off states. Using this analysis, we confirmed that the pretilt angle reduces the viewing angle symmetry in the single-domain FFS LC mode. Finally, we examined the effect of a zero pretilt angle on the viewing angle symmetry by evaluating real single-domain FFS LC cells.

Preparation of Nd2Fe14B Single Domain Particles from Nd-Fe-B Alloy Ingot Using a Combination of HDDR and Mechanical Milling

  • This study examined the feasibility of the combining HDDR-process (hydrogenation, disproportionation, desorption and recombination) with mechanical milling to prepare single domain $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ particles from a Nd-Fe-B alloy ingot. The $Nd_{15}Fe_{77}B_8$ alloy was HDDR-treated and then subjected to a roller-milling. In the HDDR-treated $Nd_{15}Fe_{77}B_8$ alloy, very small $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ grains comparable to their critical single domain size(0.3 ${\mu}m$) were observed. These fine individual grains were separated successfully along the grain boundaries by a roller-milling. The separated $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ grains were found to be single domain particles. These results suggest that single domain particles of the $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ phase can be prepared from a Nd-Fe-B ingot alloy by combining a HDDR-process with mechanical milling.

Domain Switching and Crack Propagation of $BaTiO_3$ Single Crystal in Different Environments

  • The influence of a moist atmosphere on $90^{\circ}$ domain switching under a sustained electric field, stress corrosion cracking of an indentation crack in water and an aggressive solution, and the relation between penetrating crack propagation and domain switching were studied using $BaTiO_3$ single crystal. The results indicate that enlarging the domain switching zone and crack propagation could be facilitated by a moist atmosphere or an aggressive solution due to the indentation residual stress. A moist atmosphere exerts remarkable influence upon the polarization of $BaTiO_3$ single crystal under a sustained electric field, and the surface energy of the c domain was much lower than that of the a domain. Domain switching ahead of a penetrating indentation crack tip was an essential requirement for crack propagation under constant stress.

  • This paper proposes a multiplexed space-frequency block coding (SFBC) technique for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization. Multiplexed space-frequency block coding technique for single-carrier modulation uses multiple groups of two transmitters and suppresses the interference signals of other SFBC groups at the receiver. In this paper, we reconfigure transmit signals to adapt them for multiplexed SFBC for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization and receiver structures and propose a structure for transmitter and receiver, show its performance is better than the traditional algorithm by simulations.

Domain Wall Motions in Ferromagnetic Thin Film Induced by Laser Heating Pulse

  • Soft ferromagnetic materials are utilized for various electromagnetic devices such as magnetic recording heads and magnetic shielding. In situ observation of magnetic microstructures and domain wall motions are prerequisite for understanding and improving their magnetic properties. In this work, by the Fresnel (out-of-focus) method of Lorentz microscopy, we observe the domain wall motions of polycrystalline Ni/Ti thin film layers triggered by single-shot laser pulse. Random motions of domain walls were visualized at every single pulse.

PCB상 Single 및 Differential Via의 전기적 파라미터 추출 (Extraction of Electrical Parameters for Single and Differential Vias on PCB)

  • 본 논문은 인쇄 회로 기판에 있는 through hole vias를 시간 영역과 주파수 영역 측정을 통하여 characterization을 하였다. Via characterization은 Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR)를 이용하여 시간 영역에서 측정하고 HSPICE fitting 시뮬레이션으로 via 모델 파라미터를 추출하였다. 또한 2 port Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)로 주파수 영역에서 측정하고 Advanced Design System (ADS) fitting 시뮬레이션 하였다. VNA를 이용한 측정에서는 같은 평면에서 probing하기 위해 ABCD matrix 를 이용하여 do-embedding 수식을 유도하였다. 그리고 single via characterization 결과를 바탕으로 differential signaling을 위한 differential via characterization을 TDR과 VNA 측정을 통하여 수행하였다. Differential via characterization은 TDR 모듈의 odd mode와 even mode 소스들을 이용하여 시간 영역에서 측정하고 HSPICE로 fitting 시뮬레이션으로 모델 파라미터를 추출하였다. 추출된 모든 data는 측정 및 simulation 결과를 비교한 결과 single via의 경우, 최대 $14\%$, differential via의 경우 최대 $17\%$의 오차를 나타내었다.

  • Recently, single-domain antibodies (sdAb) are bioengineered for molecular imaging applications. Single-domain antibody, obtained from naturally occurring antibodies in camelid species and cartilaginous fish is the smallest fully functional antigen-binding antibody fragments of heavy-chain. Since their discovery, they have been investigated extensively in clinical therapeutics, monitoring and diagnostics. Their small size is important advantage for high solubility, high stability, fast blood clearance and rapid targeting. This review article summarizes the recent status of this new antibody to visualize, diagnose or inhibit specific targets of cancer.

  • The domain formation phenomena of {{{{ { LiLbO}_{ 3} }}}} crystals was investigated and the method for the periodic domain formation in {{{{ { LiLbO}_{ 3} }}}} single crystals during growth was proposed in this study. The strees-induced domain formation mechanism was proposed and explained. The strong piezoelectric effect of{{{{ { LiLbO}_{ 3} }}}} at elevated temperature would be the direct driving force for the inversion of the tensile component of the internal stresses can inverse the original direction of the spontaneous polarization.

주파수축 등화기를 사용하는 단일 안테나 단일 반송파 시스템을 위한 다이버시티 전송 기술 (A Diversity Transmission Technique for Single-Antenna Single-Carrier Systems with Frequency-Domain Equalization)

  • OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)은 그 우수한 성능으로 인해 광대역 무선통신 시스템에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 OFDM은 평균전송전력 대비 최대전송전력이 높다는 단점을 가지고 있으며 이를 극복하기 위한 방법으로 SC-FDE(Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization)가 제안되었다. SC-FDE는 OFDM과 비슷한 성능 및 복잡도를 유지하면서 비선형성 전력 증폭기에 덜 민감하다는 장점을 가진다. 이 논문에서는 단일 안테나를 가지는 BPSK SC-FDE 시스템에서 BPSK로 전송하는 대신 QPSK로 반복 전송하며 전송할 때의 데이터 패턴을 조절함으로써 주파수축의 다이버시티 효과를 얻는 방법을 제안한다.
