역충전재 및 치근단 절제 각도와 와동 형성 기구에 따른 역충전물의 변연 누출에 관한 전기화학적 연구 (AN ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDY ON MICROLEAKAGE OF RETROGRADE FILLING USING DIFFERENT RETROGRANE FILLING MATERIALS, ROOT RESECTION ANGLE AND CAVITY PREPARATION INSTRUMENTS)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microleakage electrochemically using different retrograde filling materials, different root resection angle, and different cavity preparation instruments. 104 extracted single-rooted teeth were selected for this study. 100 teeth were used as experimental groups and four was used as controls. Anatomical crowns were resected, root canals were prepared, and the apical 2 mm of roots were removed. The experimental roots were randomly divided into five equal groups. Experimental groups : Group 1. no bevel, cavity preparation with ultrasonic instruments, amalgam filling Group 2. no bevel, cavity preparation with ultrasonic instruments, SuperEBA cement filling Group 3. no bevel, cavity preparation with ultrasonic instruments, desiccated ZOE filling Group 4. $45^{\circ}$ bevel, cavity preparation with ultrasonic instruments, amalgam filling Group 5. no bevel, cavity preparation with conventional bur, amalgam filling Microleakage was measured once a day for 30 days using electrochemical method and were analyzed statistically. The results were as follows : 1. The group with Super EBA cement filling showed the least marginal leakage from second to fourth day(p<0.05), there was no significant difference between the group with amalgam filling during eighth to eighteenth day(p>0.05), but after the nineteenth day here was a higher marginal leakage than the group with amalgam filling(p<0.05). 2. The group with desiccated ZOE filling demostrated that the highest marginal leakage, started on the eighth day(p<0.05). 3. The group using ultrasonic instrument showed lower marginal leakage than the group using bur until the nineteenth day(p<0.05), but there was no significant differnce with the group using bur after twentythird day(p>0.05). 4. The group without bevel showed lower marginal leakage than the group with bevel (p<0.05). 5. Whether bevel or nor had much more effect on marginal leakage than with cavity perparation instrument when the cavity was retrogrdefilled with amalgam(stepwise regression).

Single-Feed Composite Cavity-Backed Four-Arm Curl Antenna

  • A single-feed composite cavity-backed four-arm curl antenna is presented for use in global positioning systems (GPS). Its primary radiating element is fed by a vacant-quarter printed ring, which helps the antenna directly match to a $50-{\Omega}$ coaxial line and produce a good circular polarization (CP). The cavity-backed reflector is employed to improve the CP radiation characteristics in terms of 3-dB axial ratio (AR) beamwidth and minimum AR value. The optimized design with an overall size of $90{\times}90{\times}25mm^3$ ($0.4725{\lambda}_o{\times}0.4725{\lambda}_o{\times}0.13{\lambda}_o$ at 1,575 MHz) results in a ${\mid}S_{11}{\mid}&lt;-10dB$ bandwidth of 8.66% (1,514-1,651 MHz) and a 3-dB AR bandwidth of 2.23% (1,555-1,590 MHz). The antenna radiates a widebeam right-hand circular polarization and operates with a measured radiation efficiency greater than 90% within its impedance matching bandwidth.

Bonding of a resin-modified glass ionomer cement to dentin using universal adhesives

  • Objectives: This study aims to assess the effect of universal adhesives pretreatment on the bond strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement to dentin. Materials and Methods: Fifty caries-free human third molars were employed. The teeth were randomly assigned into five groups (n = 10) based on dentin surface pretreatments: Single Bond Universal (3M Oral Care), Gluma Bond Universal (Heraeus Kulzer), Prime&Bond Elect (Dentsply), Cavity Conditioner (GC) and control (no surface treatment). After Fuji II LC (GC) was bonded to the dentin surfaces, the specimens were stored for 7 days at 37℃. The specimens were segmented into microspecimens, and the microspecimens were subjugated to microtensile bond strength testing (1.0 mm/min). The modes of failure analyzed using a stereomicroscope and scanning electron microscopy. Data were statistically analyzed with one-way analysis of variance and Duncan tests (p = 0.05). Results: The surface pretreatments with the universal adhesives and conditioner increased the bond strength of Fuji II LC to dentin (p < 0.05). Single Bond Universal and Gluma Bond Universal provided higher bond strength to Fuji II LC than Cavity Conditioner (p < 0.05). The bond strengths obtained from Prime&Bond Elect and Cavity Conditioner were not statistically different (p > 0.05). Conclusions: The universal adhesives and polyacrylic acid conditioner could increase the bond strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) to dentin. The use of universal adhesives before the application of RMGIC may be more beneficial in improving bond strength.

Measurement of Birefringence with Brillouin Spectroscopy

  • An alternative way to determine the birefringence for uniaxial crystals with Brillouin scattering experiments equipped with a Fabry-Perot interferometer is presented. The value of the minimum cavity spacing of the interferometer to observe the birefringence was found, and it is shown that the experimental error of the birefringence could be reduced by increasing the cavity spacing. For a single crystal of $\alpha$-LiIO$_3$, the birefringence was found to be 0.14814$\pm$0.0007 at 514.5 nm.

  • The unsteady supersonic flow over two- and three-Dimensional cavities has been analyzed by the integration of unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) with the k - w turbulence model. The unsteady flow is characterized by the periodicity due to the mutual relation between the shear layer and the internal flow in cavities. Numerical method is upwind TVD scheme based on the flux vector split with the Van Leer limiters, and time accuracy is used explicit 4th stage Runge-Kutta scheme. Cavity flows are Comparison of two- and three-dimensional. The cavity has a L/D ratio of 3 for two-dimensional case. and same L/D and W/D ratio is 1 for three-dimensional case. The Mach and Reynolds numbers are held constant at 1.5 and 450000 respectively. For the three-dimensional case, the flow field is observed to oscillate in the 'shear layer mode' with a feedback mechanism that follow Rossiter's formula. On the other hand, the self-sustained oscillating flow transitions to a 'wake mode' for the two-dimensional simulation, with more violent fluctuations inside the cavity.

In the three-dimensional flow, the 1st mode of frequency could be seen.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 T-DMB 방송 송신기 및 중계기에서 사용하는 공동여파기를 설계하고 제작한다. 설계를 위하여 3차원 field 시뮬레이션 툴인 HFSS를 이용한다. T-DMB 여파기는 Q값이 높아야 하고 대전력인 이유로 공동여파기가 주로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공동공진기의 설계를 보다 쉽고 정확한 특성을 얻기 위하여 HFSS를 이용한다. 시뮬레이션된 특성을 바탕으로 여파기를 제작하고 특성을 측정하여 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교한다. 측정한 결과 공진주파수 211.8MHz에서 대역폭 0.1MHz의 특성을 얻음으로써 시뮬레이션 결과와 설계치에 잘 부합되었음을 밝힌다.

  • Generally, progressive type GMP process is more efficient than batch type because there are advantages that problems of each stage(heating, press, cooling etc.) are easily grasped and a time of production is shortened. But if single cavity is used in progressive type GMP process, there is disadvantage that productivity is decreased. So, in order to improve productivity of progressive type GMP process, it is essential to secure multi cavity mold technic. In this study, as a fundamental study to develop multi cavity used in glass lens molding, we conducted a compression test for PBK40.

구형 캐비티 부착형 고이득 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 (Design of a High Gain Microstrip Antenna with Rectangular Cavity Backed)

  • 본 논문에서는 구형 캐비티 부착형 고이득 마이크로스트립 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 단일 마이크로스트립 패치는 기본적으로 이득이 낮다. 이득개선법에 따라 상층기판을 두는 기술이 캐비티 부착형 $2\times2$ 마이크로스트립 배열 안테나에 적용된다. 안테나를 설계함에 있어서 비록 캐비티가 커짐에 따라 이득이 증가하지만 캐비티 크기가 $3\times3$ 파장이면 충분하다. 방사 소자간의 길이는 1.5배의 자유공간 파장으로 한다. 안테나 방사특성은 IE3D 소프트웨어로 계산되고 측정치와 실험적으로 비교한다. 실험 결과는 최대 이득이 9.16GHz에서 18.6dBi의 이득을 가지고 이는 계산결과와 잘 일치한다.
