3차원 재구성법을 이용한 수복물의 정량적 미세누출도 측정 (NEW QUANTITATIVE MEASURING TECHNIQUE FOR MICROLEAKAGE OF THE RESTORED TOOTH THROUGH 3D RECONSTRUCTION)

  • Established microleakage tests have their own disadvantages. In this study, 3D reconstruction method was tried to overcome these disadvantages. Four types of microleakage tests were used and relationships among them were estimated: penetrated dye volume: marginal adaptability: degree of dye penetration and relative penetrated length to cavity wall. Twenty-four Class V cavities were bulk filled with composite (Esthet X) following surface treatments: N group (no treatment): E group (etching only): T group (etching + Prime & Bond NT). 50% silver nitrate was used as a dye solution after thermocycling ($5^{\circ}C{\;}&{\;}55^{\circ}C$, 1.000 times). Teeth were serially ground with a thickness of 0.2 mm. Volume of dye penetration was estimated from a three-dimensionally reconstructed image with a software (3D-DOCTOR). Percentage of margin without gap was estimated from SEM and degree of dye penetration and the relative length of dye penetration to overall cavity wall were also estimated. ANOVA and Scheffe test for dye volume, Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney test for marginal quality, Spearman's rho test for checking of relationships among methods were used. The results were as follows: 1. Dye penetration could be seen from several directions, furthermore, its volumetric estimation was possible. 2. Reverse relationship was found between dye volume and marginal quality (r = -0.881/ p = 0.004). 3. Very low relationship was seen between dye volume and two-dimensional tests (degree of dye penetration and relative length). However, 2D evaluation methods showed high relationship (p = 0.002-0.054) each other. 4. Three times vertical section could be recommended as a 2D test.

Micro-CT evaluation of internal adaptation in resin fillings with different dentin adhesives

  • Objectives: The purpose of present study was to evaluate the internal adaptation of composite restorations using different adhesive systems. Materials and Methods: Typical class I cavities were prepared in 32 human third molars. The teeth were divided into the following four groups: 3-step etch-and-rinse, 2-step etch-and-rinse, 2-step self-etch and 1-step self-etch system were used. After the dentin adhesives were applied, composite resins were filled and light-cured in two layers. Then, silver nitrate solution was infiltrated, and all of the samples were scanned by micro-CT before and after thermo-mechanical load cycling. For each image, the length to which silver nitrate infiltrated, as a percentage of the whole pulpal floor length, was calculated (%SP). To evaluate the internal adaptation using conventional method, the samples were cut into 3 pieces by two sectioning at an interval of 1 mm in the middle of the cavity and they were dyed with Rhodamine-B. The cross sections of the specimens were examined by stereomicroscope. The lengths of the parts where actual leakage was shown were measured and calculated as a percentage of real leakage (%RP). The values for %SP and %RP were compared. Results: After thermo-mechanical loading, all specimens showed significantly increased %SP compared to before thermo-mechanical loading and 1-step self-etch system had the highest %SP (p < 0.05). There was a tendency for %SP and %RP to show similar microleakage percentage depending on its sectioning. Conclusions: After thermo-mechanical load cycling, there were differences in internal adaptation among the groups using different adhesive systems.

Bulk fill 유동성 복합레진의 변연 누출에서 다른 중합시간의 영향에 대해 마이크로시티를 이용한 평가 (Evaluation of marginal leakage of bulk fill flowable composite resin filling with different curing time using micro-computed tomography technology)

  • 목적: 중합 시간이 bulk fill 유동성 복합레진의 미세누출에 미치는 영향을 마이크로시티를 이용하여 평가하고자 하였다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 30개의 발거된 인간 대구치에 변형된 2급 와동인 vertical slot cavity를 형성하였다. SonicFill과 SureFil SDR flow을 단일 충전하였으며, 다른 중합시간(20, 40, 60초)으로 광중합 하였다. 모든 표본은 5000번의 thermal cycle을 시행하였다. 치아는 silver nitrate 용액에 24시간 동안 침전 후 8시간 동안 현상액에 침전하였다. 마이크로시티를 사용하여 시편을 촬영 후 침투된 silver nitrate solution을 3차원적으로 재건하여 그 부피를 측정하였다. 변연 누출 결과값의 통계 처리는 Mann-Whitney test를 사용하였다. 결과: 광중합 시간의 증가는 두 bulk fill 유동성 복합레진에서 변연 누출을 증가시켰다. 두 복합레진 사이 유의한 차이는 없었다. 결론: 중합 시간은 bulk fill 유동성 복합레진의 변연 누출을 증가시킬 수 있는 요인이었다. 또한 마이크로시티를 통해 레진-치아 계면에서 변연 누출의 양을 비파괴적 방법으로 3차원적으로 재건하여 측정할 수 있었다.

변형된 삼원촉매에 의한 저온시동조건에서의 메탄올엔진 배가스 정화효과에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Emission control of methanol engine exhaust with modified 3-way catalyst at cold start condition)

  • As the major methanol fueled vehicle exhaust components, formaldehyde & methanol conversion over the existing commercial 3-way catalyst was examined in a labolatory tains different Ag loadings on commercial 3-way catalyst, and german commercial catalysts for methanol engine exhaust manufactured by a commercial manufacturer. Silver catalysts were prepared by the wet impregnation of silver nitrate solution on commercial 3-way catalyst. These catalysts were characterized with BET Surface area and pore size distribution. In general, the formaldehyde(HCHO) conversion of the tested catalysts was similar to that of methanol$(CH_3OH)$. At 100$^\circ$C, which is equivalent to the cold start condition, 5wt% Ag cat. showed the most excellent HCHO and $CH_3OH$ conversion. The order of activity for conversion of HCHO & $CH_3OH$ to carbon dioxide and water vapor was as follows ; 5wt% Ag/3-way cat.>2wt% Ag/3-way cat.>german cat. front(1) > german cat. rear(2) > 10wt% Ag/3-way cat.> commercial 3-wat catalyst. However there was no significant activity difference between those tested catalysts in the hot run condition of 400$^\circ$C. Therefore, it could be concluded that the Ag-modified 3-way catalyst was the most effective and practical catalyst system which could be capable of removal the HCHO and methanol at the special condition of low temperature such as cold start condition.

Electrochemical Behavior of the Reduction of Thin Films of $Ag_3Fe(CN)_6$

  • A thin film of silver ferricyanide (Ag$_3$Fe(CN)$_6$) on a platinum or gold substrates can be reduced electrochemically to the salt of silver ferrocyanide in potassium nitrate solution. The color of these films are orange and these films are shown to be electrochromic. The voltammogram is shown the asymmetry of the oxidation compared to the reduction wave under various supporting electrolytes. The standard heterogeneous electron-transfer rate for these films and bare Pt electrode were 0.49 ${\times}$ l0$^{-2}$ and 1.30 ${\times}$ l0$^{-2}$ cm/s, respectively, obtained using a rotating disc electrode. Rough D$_0$ values, evaluated from the Levich equation, for Fe(CN)$_6^{3-/4-}$ at both SF thin film and a bare Pt disc electrode were shown as 1.2l ${\times}$ l0-6 and 0.94 ${\times}$ l0$^{-6}$ cm$^2$/s, respectively. The conductivities, as determined from the slops of the i-V curves for a ca. 1 mm sample for dried SF potassium rich and deficient bulk samples pressed between graphite electrodes, were 9.34 ${\times}$ l0$^{-9}$ and 5.80 ${\times}$ l0$^{-9}$ (${\Omega}$${\cdot}$cm)$^{-1}$, respectively.

  • 본 연구는 상아질 접착계면에서 collagenase와 esterase가 접착강도와 극미세누출에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 시행하였다. 발치된 치아의 교합면 상아질에 Single Bond 2(SB)와 Clearfil SE bond(SE)를 사용하여 상아질-레진 접착시편을 제작하고, 시편을 인산완충용액(PBS)에 24시간(I), 또는 PBS(II), collagenase 용액(III), esterase 용액(IV)에 4주간 보관 한 후 질산은 용액으로 염색하였다. 시편의 미세인장접착강도(${\mu}TBS$)와 질산은 침투 면적을 측정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. SB군의 접착강도가 $II{\sim}IV$군에서 SE군에 비해 낮은 값을 나타내었다(p<0.05). SB군은 $II{\sim}IV$군의 접착강도가 I군에 비해 낮은 값을 보였으나(p<0.05), SE군의 접착강도는 $I{\sim}IV$군간에 차이를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 2. SB군의 질산은 침투 면적이 SE군에 비해 높았으며(p<0.05), SB군과 SE군에서 질산은 침투 면적은 $I{\sim}IV$군간에 차이를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 3. 접착강도와 질산은 침투 면적은 SE군의 I, II, III군에서 음의 상관관계를 보였다(p<0.05).

Development of Diffusion - Precipitation Method to Determine AVS Concentrations in Freshwater Sediments

  • A diffusion - precipitation method was developed to determine acid volatile sulfide (AVS) concentrations in freshwater sediments. This method uses silver nitrate as a sulfide trap solution and the concentration of trapped sulfide is determined gravimetrically. The proposed diffusion - precipitation method is more rapid and less expensive than previously developed purge- and - trap methods. Spiked sodium sulfide recoveries using this method $(97\~120\%)$ were similar with a previously developed diffusion - absorption method $(93.8\~115\%)$ and about $20\%$ greater than a previously developed purge-and-trap method $(74.6\~105\%)$. Detection limit of this method $(0.1\;{\mu}mole\;S\;g^{-l})$ was comparable with that of diffusion-absorption method $(0.06\;{\mu}mole\;S\;g^{-l})$ and purge-and-trap method $(0.05\~0.5\;{\mu}mole\;S\;g^{-l})$.

Gradient 2-D PAGE를 이용한 양수 프로테옴 분석 (Proteome Analysis of Amniotic Fluid by gradient 2-D PAGI)

  • 양수 내에 존재하는 총 단백질을 이차원 전기영동을 이용하여 분리 분석하였고, gradient gel을 이용하여 양수 내에 소량으로 존재하는 미세 단백질까지 분리하였다. 양수 내에는 고농도로 존재하는 단백질이 있는데 이것이 serum albumin precursor임을 확인하였고, 8-18% gradient gel의 이용으로 분해능(resolution)이 향상되어 미세 단백질을 분리 분석할 수 있었다. 이차원 전기영동 후 MALDI-TOF를 이용하여 단백질을 identification하여 기존의 양수 protein database에 존재하는 단백질을 확인하였고, 존재하지 않는 새로운 단백질을 분리 분석하였다.

One-step phyto-mediated fabrication of silver nanoparticles and its anti-microbial properties

  • This manuscript describes the one-step eco-friendly green fabrication of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) through the in-situ bio-reduction of an aqueous solution of silver nitrate using Syzygium aromaticum leaf extract. UV-vis spectroscopy shows a characteristic SPR peak around 442 nm. FTIR spectroscopy showed that the AgNPs were capped with bioactive phyto-molecules. TEM images revealed oval and spherical particles with a mean diameter of ~12.6 nm. XRD analysis revealed crystalline and face-cantered cubic AgNPs. The phytosynthesized AgNPs showed broad-spectrum anti-microbial activity against two foodborne pathogenic bacteria, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus. The AgNPs showed a prominent ability to inhibit biofilms formed by L. monocytogenes and S. aureus in laboratory conditions through a crystal violet assay. The results suggest that the AgNPs could be a novel nanotool to develop effective antimicrobial and anti-biofilm agents in food preservation.

${\beta}-Ag_3SI$ 단결정막 전극에 관한 연구 (${\beta}-Ag_3SI$ Single Crystal Membrane Electrode)

  • ${\beta}-Ag_3SI$의 단결정을 만들어 막전극으로의 응용을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 할로겐 이온들에 대해 감응함을 알았고, 분리용액법과 혼합용액법으로 할로겐 이온들에 대한 선택계수를 얻어 이론값과 비교검토 하였으며, 전위시간 곡선으로 부터 이 전극이 유리 전극기구에 의해 전도함을 알았고, 넓은 pH 범위에서 전위가 일정한 값을 가짐을 알았다. 한편 분석화학에의 응용을 살펴 본 결과 할로겐이온의 혼합용액에서 좋은 지시전극으로 사용할 수 있음을 알았다
