나노 실리카 졸을 이용한 잉크젯 프린팅용 고품질 인쇄용지 도공층의 인쇄적성 (Printability of coating layer with nano silica sol for inkjet printing high-end photo paper)

  • 최근 인쇄용지는 단순히 정보 전달의 기능을 넘어서 미적, 예술적 가치가 부가면서 고품질의 인쇄가 가능한 도공지(coated paper)에 대한 시장의 수요가 증가하고 있다. 특히 실사급 고품질의 인쇄가 가능한 잉크젯 프린팅의 도공지는 잉크의 인쇄적성을 향상시키기 위하여 표면에 젖음성(wettability)과 다공성 구조(porous structure)를 갖는 도공층의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 나노 실리카 졸 입자에 실란 커플링제로 표면처리하고 수용성 결합제인 폴리비닐알콜(PVA)와 혼합하여 도공액(coating color)를 제조하고 원지(base paper)에 코팅하여 도공층을 제조하였다. 실란 커플링제로 표면처리한 나노 실리카 도공층은 표면처리하지 않은 도공층과 비교하여 균일한 기공 분포 및 평탄한 표면 거칠기를 가지며, 판매용 고급 인화지와 유사한 광택도를 갖는 것을 확인하였다. 특히 잉크의 망점(dot)에 대한 진원도로 평가하는 인쇄적성 평가 결과 실란 커플링제로 표면처리한 도공지는 다층 구조의 도공층을 갖는 판매용 고급 인화지보다 더 우수한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 실란 커플링제 표면처리를 통하여 나노 실리카 입자의 분산성이 향상되어 우수한 젖음성과 균일한 기공 분포를 갖는 도공층 형성이 가능하였기 때문으로 확인되었다.

Analysis of PVDF Coating Properties with Addition of Hydrophobically Modified Fumed Silica

  • In this study, hydrophobically modified fumed silica was added to the PVDF coating to improve corrosion protection performance. Two types of silane modifiers, trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) and hexamethyldisilazane (HMDZ), were used for hydrophobic modification of the fumed silica. The composition of modified fumed silica was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The dispersion of modified fumed silica in the PVDF coating was observed by the transmission electron microscopy, and the hydrophobicity of PVDF coating was analyzed by the water contact angle. Surface properties were examined by the field emission scanning electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy. Potentiodynamic polarization was conducted to confirm corrosion protection performance of PVDF coating in terms of hydrophobically-modified fumed silica contents. As a result, the average surface roughness and the water contact angle of the PVDF coating increased with modifier contents. The results of the potentiodynamic polarization test showed an increase of the Ecorr values with increase of the hydrophobicity of PVDF coating. Thus, it clearly indicates that the corrosion protection performance of PVDF coating improved with the addition of the hydrophobic-modified fumed silica that prevents the penetration of moisture into the PVDF coating.

  • Colloidal Silica(CS)/methyltrimethoxy silane(MTMS) sol solutions were prepared in variation with synthesizing parameters such as kinds of CS, acidity and reaction time. In order to understand its surface properties, sol-gel coating films on glass were fabricated. The coating film obtained from CS/MTMS sol had stable contact angle and more enhanced flat surface at reaction time of 24 hours. In case of the initial and final period of reaction, the coating films had unstable contact angle and more rough surface. In addition, surface of CS/MTMS sol-gel coating film was more rougher with increasing of acidity.

3Y-$ZrO_2$ 세라믹과 교정용 브라켓계에서 세라믹의 표면 조건에 따른 접착 거동의 변화 (Effect of Surface Condition on the Bonding Characteristics of 3Y-$ZrO_2$-Metal Bracket System)

  • Purpose: To investigate shear bonding strength between dental zirconia ceramics with different surface treatment and metal bracket. Methods: Zirconia ceramics(LAVA, 3M ESPE, USA) were divided to 4 groups according to their surface treatment; no surface treatment(G1), sand blasting(G2), silane coating(G3), and sand blasting+silane coating(G4). Specimens were bonded to metal bracket using resin bond($Transbond^{TM}XT$, 3M Unitek, USA). Shear bond strength was measured using universal test machine(3366 INSTRON. U.S.A) with cross head speed of 1 mm/min. Microstructural investigation for fracture surface was performed after shear test. Results: Shear bonding strengths of single surface treatment groups (G2 and G3) were higher than no treatment group(G1). Combined Treatment Group (G4) showed the highest shear bond strength of 9.15MPa. Microstructural observation shows that higher shear bonding strength was obtained when debonding was occurred at metal bracket/resin interface rather than zirconia ceramic/resin interface. Conclusion: Surface treatment of zirconia is necessary to obtain higher bonding strength. Combined treatment can be more effective when surface the surfaces are kept clean and homogeneous.

  • Isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), poly(tetramethylene glycol)(PTMG), dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA)를 출발물질로하여 NCO terminated prepolymer가 합성되었다. 이 prepolymer의 NCO기를 실란으로 capping하기 위해 다양한 실란커플링제인 methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS), glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane(GPTMS), methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane(MPTMS), aminopropyl triethoxysilane(APS)이 첨가되었다. 제조된 용액의 평균 입경은 실란커플링제가 첨가되면서 증가하였다. 또한 실란커플링제인 GPTMS, MPTMS, APS의 첨가는 코팅 막의 연필경도를 향상시킬 수 있었으나, MTMS의 첨가는 코팅 막의 연필경도를 향상시킬 수 없었다.

Effect of surface treatments and universal adhesive application on the microshear bond strength of CAD/CAM materials

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microshear bond strength (µSBS) of four computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) blocks repaired with composite resin using three different surface treatment protocols. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Four different CAD/CAM blocks were used in this study: (1) flexible hybrid ceramic (FHC), (2) resin nanoceramic (RNC), (c) polymer infiltrated ceramic network (PICN) and (4) feldspar ceramic (FC). All groups were further divided into four subgroups according to surface treatment: control, hydrofluoric acid etching (HF), air-borne particle abrasion with aluminum oxide (AlO), and tribochemical silica coating (TSC). After surface treatments, silane was applied to half of the specimens. Then, a silane-containing universal adhesive was applied, and specimens were repaired with a composite, Next, µSBS test was performed. Additional specimens were examined with a contact profilometer and scanning electron microscopy. The data were analyzed with ANOVA and Tukey tests. RESULTS. The findings revealed that silane application yielded higher µSBS values (P<.05). All surface treatments were showed a significant increase in µSBS values compared to the control (P<.05). For FHC and RNC, the most influential treatments were AlO and TSC (P<.05). CONCLUSION. Surface treatment is mandatory when the silane is not preferred, but the best bond strength values were obtained with the combination of surface treatment and silane application. HF provides improved bond strength when the ceramic content of material increases, whereas AlO and TSC gives improved bond strength when the composite content of material increases.

실란계 사슬 이동제를 사용한 아크릴 바인더의 제조 (Preparation of Acryl Binder with Silane Type Chain Transfer Agent)

  • 디스플레이 전자 장치의 제작에 사용되는 대표적인 유기물첨가제는 아크릴 바인더이다. 이 아크릴 바인더는 라디칼 중합으로 제조되는데 본 연구에서는 glycidyl methacrylate(GMA), methyl methacrylate(MMA), methacrylic acid(MAA)를 이용하여 공중합을 시도하였다. 그리고 이 공중합체의 접착력 향상을 위해서 실란계 mercaptane 화합물을 사슬 이동제(CTA)로 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 CTA는 (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane(MPTMS)이며, 제조된 공중합체들의 분자량, 코팅의 두께, 투과도, 접착력 등의 물성 등을 살펴보았다. 사용된 MPTMS 함량에 따라 분자량이 조절되었고, MPTMS의 함량이 증가할수록 접착력이 향상되었다.

  • 이전에 존재하던 컴포지트와 새로운 컴포지트 사이의 결합강도의 강화는 미세 기계적 유지를 증진하기 위한 표면 거칠기의 증가가 필요하다. 이 연구는 시효처리 후의 레진 컴포지트의 repair 결합강도에 다른 표면처리의 효과를 평가하는 것이다. 알루미늄 옥사이드를 이용한 air abrasion, chair-side silica coating한 그룹들에서 대조군과 불산 적용에 비하여 유의하게 높은 결합강도를 보였다. 레진 수복물의 repair시에 air abrasion의 사용은 필요한 것으로 보이며 부가적으로 silane의 적용은 결합강도에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다.

  • We have characterized the previously undescribed parameters for engineering the electrical properties of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) films for technological applications. The surface tension of the top coating passivation material and matching coefficients of thermal expansion for the substrate and carbon nanotube network are two crucial parameters for the fabrication of reliable and highly conductive single-walled carbon nanotube network thin films.
