This study utilized the non-invasive MyotonPRO® device to analyze the stiffness in breast muscles of commercial broilers (Ross 308 and Arbor Acres) and compared these findings with data reported for Ross 708, where Woody Breast (WB) symptoms had been previously documented. The research revealed that Ross 308 and Arbor Acres displayed relatively lower stiffness values compared to Ross 708, suggesting a lack of WB expression. These results indicate differentiation in breast muscle traits across strains and underscore the necessity for further research into factors influencing WB manifestation. The study also measured additional muscle tone characteristics such as Frequency, Decrement, Relaxation, and Creep across various growth stages (2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks), finding significant variations with pronounced severity at weeks 2 and 8. An increase in stiffness was observed as the broilers aged, pointing to potential growth-related or stress-induced changes affecting WB severity. A strong positive correlation was established between increased breast meat weight and WB severity, highlighting that heavier breast meat could exacerbate the condition. This correlation is vital for the poultry industry, suggesting that weight management could help mitigate WB effects. Moreover, the potential for genetic selection and breeding strategies to reduce WB occurrence was emphasized, which could aid in enhancing management practices in commercial poultry production. Collectively, these insights contribute to a deeper understanding of WB in broilers and propose avenues for future research and practical strategies to minimize its impact.

Recently, the advancement of mechanical tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology and the characteristics of subsea railway tunnels subjected to hydrostatic pressure have led to the widespread application of shield TBM methods in the design and construction of subsea railway tunnels. Subsea railway tunnels are exposed in a constant pore water pressure and are influenced by the amplification of seismic waves during earthquake. In particular, seismic loads acting on subsea railway tunnels under various ground conditions such as soft ground, soft soil-rock composite ground, and fractured zones can cause significant changes in tunnel displacement and stress, thereby affecting tunnel safety. Additionally, the dynamic response of the ground and tunnel varies based on seismic load parameters such as frequency characteristics, seismic waveform, and peak acceleration, adding complexity to the behavior of the ground-tunnel structure system. In this study, a finite difference method is employed to model the entire ground-tunnel structure system, considering hydrostatic pressure, for the investigation of dynamic behavior of subsea railway tunnel during earthquake. Since the key factors influencing the dynamic behavior during seismic events are ground conditions and seismic waves, six analysis cases are established based on virtual ground conditions: Case-1 with weathered soil, Case-2 with hard rock, Case-3 with a composite ground of soil and hard rock in the tunnel longitudinal direction, Case-4 with the tunnel passing through a narrow fault zone, Case-5 with a composite ground of soft soil and hard rock in the tunnel longitudinal direction, and Case-6 with the tunnel passing through a wide fractured zone. As a result, horizontal displacements due to earthquakes tend to increase with an increase in ground stiffness, however, the displacements tend to be restrained due to the confining effects of the ground and the rigid shield segments. On the contrary, peak compressive stress of segment significantly increases with weaker ground stiffness and the effects of displacement restrain contribute the increase of peak compressive stress of segment.
This study empirically analyzed the factors affecting acceptance intention when introducing digital transformation in the passenger vehicle transportation business, and examined the moderating effect of corporate agility. Based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the technology-organization-environment (TOE) model, the study set introduction usability, ease of introduction, digital transformation capability, CEO support, customer demand, and competitive pressure as independent variables, and 316 effective samples were analyzed by setting corporate agility as a modulating variable. As a result of the analysis, ease of introduction, digital transformation capability, CEO support, customer demand, and competitive pressure all had a significant influence on the intention to accept digital transformation, and in particular, digital transformation capability had the greatest influence. This suggests that the ability of companies to effectively utilize digital technology is an essential factor in the success of digital transformation. On the other hand, the usefulness of introduction did not significantly affect the intention to accept, which means that concerns about costs and risks can have a greater impact on the introduction of digital transformation. In addition, corporate agility showed a positive moderating effect in the relationship between acceptance intention and independent variables, and it was shown that the more agile the company can effectively solve the challenges that arise in the process of introducing digital transformation. In particular, when corporate agility is high, the effect of usefulness of introduction changes positively. This study is the first attempt to systematically analyze digital transformation in the passenger vehicle transportation business, and in practice, it has great academic significance and confirmed the importance of digital transformation capabilities and CEO support. However, since the scope of the study is limited to the passenger vehicle transportation business, there is a limit to generalization, research expanded to various industries and fields is needed in the future.
During this study I examined closely the relationship between the system of the Jeongganbo and the Buddhist sutra and Sanskirt grammatical particles. King Sejong invented the Jeongganbo during the Josun Dynasty. It had 32 cells on one line and next king Sejo reformed it to have 16 cells with 4 partitions. From ancient times in Eastern music, any numbers with each instrument, music piece, tone scale, mode -even if it was just one tone- were symbolized with some meaning. Consequently, despite being unable to locate the appropriate records, I never doubted that the musical systems of Sejong and Sejo had meaning. Finally, I discovered the same numbers and symbolized meaning in Buddhist sutra as had the system of word formation in ancient Indian sanskrit. Moreover, it related to the Korean alphabet characters, Hangeul, invented by King Sejong. Firstly, there is a story that a person who has 32 moral characters entering the priesthood may become a Great Buddha. Alternatively, if he lives a secular life he will be a great leader, this according to the Buddhist sutra, Dirghagama. This myth goes back to two dharmas of Nivrtti laksha and Pravrtti Lakshaone in Veda. In later days, most Buddhist sutra described the 32 virtued person as embodying the character of Buddha. Especially in the 『Goanchaljebeobhang Sutra(觀察諸法行經)』, it is said that a significant man has 32 virtues, and the 16 sanskrit character as the door to entrance to the enlightened world. Initially Siddham, which is one kind of ancient sanskrit, was a 12 vowel alphabet. Thereafter a further 4 characters were added and it became 16 letters. In Buddhism, this alphabet was utilized as the method for the practice of Buddhistic austerities by recitation or imagining one after another. Finally, it became a mantra chanting. King Sejong formulated Hangeul to be a phonetic symbol script like sanskrit rather than Chinese characters. After its creation, several mantra books were written using the newly made Hangeul, Siddham and Chinese characters together. Also Hangeul was used for writing Buddha's life story and praising Buddha and the Bodhisattvas. Notable also is the resemblance in structure and pattern of rhythm between Korean and Indian traditional music. Considering these elements and factors, I was able to postulate that the Jeongganbo, with 32 cells and 16 cells, resulted from Buddhism and Siddham characters. But what we could not establish on record was the link with Josun Dynasty suppression of Buddhism. At that time, Confucianism was the official policy, but the King and common people believed and followed Buddhism, following long established customs since the Silla area.
This study analyzes the changes in the coastal ferry transport network in South Korea due to the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the domestic shipping and logistics sector. Focusing on the small-sized ports network distributed across mainland and islands that make up the coastal ferry transport network, the research employs Social Network Analysis (SNA) methods to examine the structural changes and characteristics of the network from 2018 to 2021, distinguishing between the periods before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. By utilizing centrality indices such as the degree centrality, closeness centrality, and betweenness centrality, the study assesses the changes in the influence of small-sized ports within the network before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The scope of this study focuses on Mokpo and Wando region in the Jellanamdo province, which have the largest coastal ferry transport networks and notable passenger transport performance in South Korea. It examines the primary ports in these regions and the small-sized ports located on the islands. Analysis of the Mokpo coastal ferry transport network indicates that the number of connected islands decreased before and after the pandemic, and connectivity to other islands within the network diminished. Factors such as the decline in tourist numbers due to COVID-19, the connecting with land bridges between the mainland and islands, and subsequent closure of ferry sea routes are believed to have impacted these network changes. In the Wando region, the sharp decrease in both island residents and tourists after the pandemic led to the suspension of ferry operations, resulting in disrupted connectivity with some small-sized ports on the coastal ferry transport network. This has affected network characteristics such as concentration and average path length in the Wando region. This study aims to analyze the changes in the domestic shipping and logistics, coastal ferry, network due to the COVID-19 pandemic, providing insights to predict potential network changes caused by uncertain events in the future and contributing to the formulation of proactive policies for effective responses.

Background/Aims: In Korea, the incidence of primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the central nervous system (PCNSL) is increasing and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has improved the survival of younger patients. We explored our real-world experience with PCNSL at Asan Medical Center (AMC). Methods: We used the AMC lymphoma registry to collect patient data prospectively. We analyzed 279 patients diagnosed from 2002 until August 2019. Results: The PCNSL incidence at AMC increased progressively and comprised 7.4-8.9% of new non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients annually during the most recent 4 years. The median age was 60 years (range, 17-85) and males comprised 55%. Patients under 65 years of age (n = 183) had no significant differences in characteristics compared to those aged 65 years or over, with the exception of less occipital lobe involvement and lower beta-2 microglobulin levels. Rituximab, methotrexate, procarbazine, and vincristine (R-MPV) combination induction had the best overall response, of 95%. The median overall survival was 3.8 years with 5- and 10-year survival rates of 41.5% and 30.2%, respectively. Survival was better in younger patients and those treated with ASCT. Thiotepa, busulfan, and cytoxan (TBC) conditioning chemotherapy had better survival than other combinations. The International Extranodal Lymphoma Study Group and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center prognostic score systems were valid in this cohort. Age and performance status were independent prognostic factors. Exclusive extra-central nervous system failure occurred in six patients (5.6%) among 107 failures. Conclusions: The incidence of PCNSL is rising. R-MPV induction therapy followed by ASCT with TBC has improved the survival of young, fit PCNSL patients.

Background/Aims: Carbapenems are recommended for treating bacteremia caused by extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) producing Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL-E). However, this has resulted in a significant rise in the utilization of carbapenems in cases of ESBL-E infection. We evaluated the clinical outcomes of patients with ESBL-E bacteremia treated with non-carbapenem antimicrobials. Methods: We conducted a retrospective case-control study of a cohort of patients with documented ESBL-E bacteremia from January 2021 to December 2021. The patients were divided into two groups according to whether they received non-carbapenem or carbapenem therapy. The rates of treatment failure, 30-day mortality and microbiologic failure, and the durations of hospitalization and of antimicrobial therapy were compared between the two groups. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing and phenotypic identification of ESBL-E were performed using the Vitek 2 system. Results: Of 118 patients with ESBL-E bacteremia, 54 received non-carbapenem drugs (non-carbapenem group [NCG]) and 64 received carbapenems (carbapenem group [CG]). Treatment failure at 30 days occurred in 16.7% of the patients in the NCG and in 18.8% in the CG (p = 0.65). The 30-day mortality rate was 14.8% in the NCG and 17.2% in the CG (p = 0.63). Extra-urinary tract infection and prior antimicrobial therapy within 30 days were risk factors for treatment failure in patients with ESBL-E bacteremia. The clinical outcomes did not differ significantly between the two groups, challenging the prevailing preference for carbapenems in the treatment of ESBL-E bacteremia. Conclusions: Non-carbapenem antimicrobials such as piperacillin/tazobactam are recommended for patients with mild ESBL-E bacteremia in South Korea.

This study aimed to identify sustainable dietary practices, concepts, and factors that hinder practice from the perspective of high school students and suggest what the current sustainable dietary education should be supplemented. The study utilized photovoice to compare and analyze the differences in sustainable dietary practices based on the implementation of sustainable dietary education among high school students. A group of 7 participants, who did not provide sustainable dietary education, submitted 65 photos, while a group of 8 participants who underwent the education submitted 80 photos. The results of this study showed that the overall awareness of sustainable diet concepts among all participants was highest in the health area (66.54%), followed by the environment (23.74%) and consideration (9.73%). Categorizing the results according to the sustainable dietary area revealed a diverse range of concepts extracted through sustainable dietary education, with an increase in the number of small areas. It was observed that the majority of the research participants were consuming foods with high sugar and sodium content, and they tended to consume more delivery food or dining out rather than cooking meals themselves. Interview results also indicated that while students demonstrated a conceptual understanding of sustainable dietary habits, there were cases where this understanding needed to translate into practical actions. This study is significant in utilizing the qualitative research method of photovoice to uncover the meaning and practical examples of sustainable dietary habits from the perspective of high school students. The results can be utilized to enhance and guide sustainable dietary education programs.

In South Korea, 50-65% of the annual precipitation is concentrated during the summer monsoon season, which is called Changma. In 2023, extreme precipitation was observed during Changma period, and was recorded the highest amount in southern part of Korea. Extreme precipitation in forest region is one of significant factors related to the landslide. Therefore, accurate monitoring and understanding of precipitation patterns are crucial for preventing the landslide disasters in Changma period. This study investigated the precipitation patterns including precipitation intensity, duration, and total amount in mountainous and non-mountainous regions during the Changma period using dataset observed from the Korea Forest Service's Automatic Mountain Meteorology Observation Station (AMOS) and the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). Precipitation map produced from the Modified Korean-Parameter elevation Regressions an Independent Slopes Model (MK-PRISM) was also used to verify precipitation patterns in areas affected by landslides in Gyeongsangbuk-do province. The results used from precipitation observations revealed that the total amount of precipitation was greater at elevations such as mountainous regions. In particular, extreme precipitation events such as precipitation duration exceeding 50 hours with amount of over 300 mm and heavy rainfalls of over 30 mm/hr occurred at landslide areas including Mungyeong, Bonghwa, and Yeongju in Gyeongsangbuk-do province. Total amount of precipitation produced by MK-PRISM in these areas during Changma period were more than double compared with 30 years mean values obtained from KMA. The results conducted in this study indicate that it is essential to establish the thresolds considering recent precipitation patterns to effectively prepare and prevent for landslide disasters.

This study was conducted to develop a model for predicting the growth of kimchi cabbage using image data and environmental data. Kimchi cabbages of the 'Cheongmyeong Gaual' variety were planted three times on July 11th, July 19th, and July 27th at a test field located at Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do (37°37' N 128°32' E, 510 elevation), and data on growth, images, and environmental conditions were collected until September 12th. To select key factors for the kimchi cabbage growth prediction model, a correlation analysis was conducted using the collected growth data and meteorological data. The correlation coefficient between fresh weight and growth degree days (GDD) and between fresh weight and integrated solar radiation showed a high correlation coefficient of 0.88. Additionally, fresh weight had significant correlations with height and leaf area of kimchi cabbages, with correlation coefficients of 0.78 and 0.79, respectively. Canopy coverage was selected from the image data and GDD was selected from the environmental data based on references from previous researches. A prediction model for kimchi cabbage of biomass, leaf count, and leaf area was developed by combining GDD, canopy coverage and growth data. Single-factor models, including quadratic, sigmoid, and logistic models, were created and the sigmoid prediction model showed the best explanatory power according to the evaluation results. Developing a multi-factor growth prediction model by combining GDD and canopy coverage resulted in improved determination coefficients of 0.9, 0.95, and 0.89 for biomass, leaf count, and leaf area, respectively, compared to single-factor prediction models. To validate the developed model, validation was conducted and the determination coefficient between measured and predicted fresh weight was 0.91, with an RMSE of 134.2 g, indicating high prediction accuracy. In the past, kimchi cabbage growth prediction was often based on meteorological or image data, which resulted in low predictive accuracy due to the inability to reflect on-site conditions or the heading up of kimchi cabbage. Combining these two prediction methods is expected to enhance the accuracy of crop yield predictions by compensating for the weaknesses of each observation method.

① 당 사이트는 회원이 서비스 이용내용에 있어서 본 약관 제 11조 내용을 위반하거나, 다음 각 호에 해당하는

- 기타 정상적인 서비스 운영에 방해가 될 경우
② 상기 이용제한 규정에 따라 서비스를 이용하는 회원에게 서비스 이용에 대하여 별도 공지 없이 서비스 이용의
일시정지, 이용계약 해지 할 수 있습니다.
제 17 조 (전자우편주소 수집 금지)
회원은 전자우편주소 추출기 등을 이용하여 전자우편주소를 수집 또는 제3자에게 제공할 수 없습니다.
제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.

1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
