In this paper, we suggest a design method of a wide-band Butler matrix working at 5.9 GHz for V2X communication antennas. Since V2X communication needs beam-forming and beam-steering antennas to make transportation systems, mobile comm platforms, saturated frequency-resources, and signal TX-and-RX smart, multi-functional, resolved, and efficient utmost, respectively, the proper Butler matrix and its radiating elements as a low-profile geometry are realized. The constitutive components of the basic Butler matrix of a narrow band are designed first. And then, it is extended to a wide-band version to make its frequency-shift less affected by the event of the antenna system being mounted on a car body. The beam-forming and beam-steering performance is presented as the common feature tagged along with the different bandwidths of the frequency responses as the comparison between the narrow- and wide-band cases.

Reference white in color television receiver can be achieved by adjusting the RGB gun current ratio and it is necessary to provide additional gain ratio adjustment for the RGB video signal. Generally, the gun current density profile has a gaussian distribution and the gain-bandwidth product of RGB channel amplifieris constant. Therefore brightness and spatial resolution are changed with variations in reference white of receiver. In this paper, the effect of RGB gun current and channel gain ratios on brightness and resolution of CPT is analyzed. Brightness is increased with the color temperature of referenc white because of Helmholtz-kohlrausch effect. The change in ligh output is more abrupt and spatial resolution is improved with unity current ratio. For more bright and improved ressolution we also present the range of color temperature of reference white for P22 phosphors.
Among the sensors mainly used for displacement measurement, there are a linear CCD(Charge Coupled Device) and a PSD(Position Sensitive Detector) as a non-contact type. Their structures are different very much, which means that the signal processing of both sensors should be applied in the different ways. Most of the displacement measurement systems to get the 3-D shape profile of an object using a linear CCD are a computer-based system. It means that all of algorithms and mathematical operations are performed through a computer program to measure the displacement. However, in this paper, the developed system has microprocessor and other digital components that make the system measure the displacement of an object without a computer. The thing different from the previous system is that AVR microprocessor and FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) technology, and a comparator is used to play the role of an A/D(Analog to Digital) converter. Furthermore, an ATC(Automatic Threshold Control) algorithm is applied to find the highest pixel data that has the real displacement information. According to the size of the light circle incident on the surface of the CCD, the threshold value to remove the noise and useless data is changed by the operation of AVR microprocessor. The total system consists of FPGA, AVR microprocessor, and the comparator. The developed system has the improvement and shows the better performance than the system not using the ATC algorithm for displacement measurement.
Spectral phase interferometry for direct electric-field reconstruction (SPIDER) was fabricated and used to characterize pulses from a Ti:sapphire oscillator. In the SPIDER apparatus, two replicas of the input pulse were generated with a time delay of 200 fs and were upconverted by use of sum-frequency generation with a strongly chirped pulse using a 8-cm-long SFIO glass block at a 30-11m-thick type II BBO (p-BaBz04) crystal. The resulting interferogram was recorded with a UV-enhanced CCD array in the spectrometer. The spectral phase was retrieved by SPIDER algorithm in combination with independently measured pulse spectrum and the corresponding temporal intensity profile was reconstructed with a duration of 19 fs. As an independent cross-check of the accuracy of the method, we compared the interferometric autocorrelation (lAC) signal calculated from the SPIDER data with a separately measured lAC. The conventional, but unjustified, method of fitting a sechz pulse to the autocorrelation deceivingly yielded a pulse duration of 15 fs. This systematic underestimation of the pulse duration affirms the need for a complete characterization method. From the consideration in this paper, we concluded that the SPIDER could provide an accurate characterization of femtosecond pulses. ulses.
Acanthamoeba infection is difficult to treat because of the resistance property of Acanthamoeba cyst against the host immune system, diverse antibiotics, and therapeutic agents. To identify encystation mediating factors of Acanthamoeba, we compared the transcription profile between cysts and trophozoites using microarray analysis. The DNA chip was composed of 12,544 genes based on expressed sequence tag (EST) from an Acanthamoeba ESTs database (DB) constructed in our laboratory, genetic information of Acanthamoeba from TBest DB, and all of Acanthamoeba related genes registered in the NCBI. Microarray analysis indicated that 701 genes showed higher expression than 2 folds in cysts than in trophozoites, and 859 genes were less expressed in cysts than in trophozoites. The results of real-time PCR analysis of randomly selected 9 genes of which expression was increased during cyst formation were coincided well with the microarray results. Eukaryotic orthologous groups (KOG) analysis showed an increment in T article (signal transduction mechanisms) and O article (posttranslational modification, protein turnover, and chaperones) whereas significant decrement of C article (energy production and conversion) during cyst formation. Especially, cystein proteinases showed high expression changes (282 folds) with significant increases in real-time PCR, suggesting a pivotal role of this proteinase in the cyst formation of Acanthamoeba. The present study provides important clues for the identification and characterization of encystation mediating factors of Acanthamoeba.

The flow around a circular cylinder which oscillates rotationally with a relatively high forcing frequency has been investigated experimentally using flow visualization and hot-wire measurements. Dominant parameters are Reynolds number (Re), oscillation amplitude $({\theta}_A)$, and frequency ratio $F_R=f_f/f_n$, where $f_f$ is the forcing frequency and $f_n$ is the natural frequency of vortex shedding. Experiments were carried out under the conditions of $Re=4.14{\times}10^3,\;{\theta}_A={\pi}/6$, and $0{\leq}F_R{\leq}2$. The effect of frequency ratio $F_R$ on the flow structure of wake was evaluated by measuring wake velocity profile and spectral analysis of hot-wire signal. Depending on the frequency ratio $F_R$, the cylinder wake has 5 different flow regimes. The vortex formation length and vortex shedding frequency are changed significantly before and after the lock-on regime. The drag coefficient was reduced under the condition of $F_R<1.0$ and the maximum drag reduction is about 33% at $F_R=0.8$. However, the drag is increased as $F_R$ increases beyond $F_R=1.0$. This active flow control method can be effective in aerodynamic applications, if the forcing parameters are selected optimally.

Because internal space of combat vehicle reachs about $80^{\circ}C$ at high temperature period, Proximity Sensor exposed high temperature and humidity, which has function to sense the distance and transfer signal for control unit, have enlarged sensing distance and finally locked on. Malfunction of sensing itself occur frequently, therefore we carried out cause analysis and improvement. We accomplish improvement activity secondly. Through-out many trial and error, we find out that malfunction of sensor occur at high temperature circumstance. To improve, the another Emitter Coil is added to increase voltage difference and improve sensing accuracy about 5~10 times. And we accomplish design improvement to dull temperature and humity change after increasing molding surface to add vibration and shock resistance. We prove that the improved product do not fail after enduring 136hr at $85^{\circ}C$ temperature and 85% relative humidity circumstance chamber.

Objective: To explore the differential protein expression profile in EC304 gastric cancer cells induced by alphastatin. Methods: Cultured EC304 cells in the exponential phase of growth were randomly divided into alphastatin and control groups. Total proteins were extracted and the two dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) technique was applied to analyze differences in expression with ImageMaster 2D Platinum 5.0 software. Proteins were identified using the MASCOT database and selected differently expressed proteins were characterised by western blotting and immunofluorescence. Results: $1350{\pm}90$ protein spots were detected by the ImageMaster software in the 2-DE gel images from the control and alphastatin groups. The match rate was about 72-80% for the spectrum profiles, with 29 significantly different protein spots being identified, 10 upregulated, 16 downregulated, two new and one lost. The MASCOT search scores were 64-666 and the peptide matching numbers were 3-27 with sequence coverage of 8-62%. Twenty-three proteins were checked by mass spectrometry, including decrease in Nm23 and profilin-2 isoform b associated with the regulation of actin multimerisation induced by extracellular signals. Conclusion: The proteome in EC304 cells is dramatically altered by alphastatin, which appears to play an important role in modulating cellular activity and anti-angiogenesis by regulating protein expression and signal transduction pathways through Nm23 and profilin-2 isoform b, providing new research directions for anti-angiogenic therapy of gastric cancer.
Multi-channel images of 11-MUA(11-Mercaptoundecanoic acid) and 11-MUOH(11-Mercaptoundecanol) self-assembled monolayers were obtained by using two-dimensional surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption. The patterning process was simplified by exploiting direct photo-oxidation of thiol bonding (photolysis) instead of conventional photolithography. Sharper images were resolved by using a white light source in combination with a narrow bandpass filter in the visible region, minimizing the diffraction patterns on the images. The line profile calibration of the image contrast caused by different resonance conditions at each point on the sensor surface (at a fixed incident angle) enables us to discriminate the monolayer thickness in nanometer scale. Furthermore, there is no signal degradation such as photo bleaching or quenching, which are common in the detection methods based on fluorescence.
A compact electric field probe sensor incorporating two different electro-optic materials of $LiNbO_3$ and GaAs was proposed and fabricated, and it was used to measure the strength of the horizontal and vertical fields generated by a microstrip ring-resonator filter. The sensitivities of the sensors in $LiNbO_3$ and GaAs were $9.315{\mu}V/\sqrt{Hz}$ and ${\sim}49.346{\mu}V/\sqrt{Hz}$ respectively, and their signal to noise ratios were approximately ${\sim}50\;dB$ and ${\sim}40\;dB$ respectively. And the operating frequency range was up to ${\sim}1.2\;GHz$. The electric field profile for the test circuit was scanned and found to be in good agreement with that obtained by using the HFSS simulation.
