A steam generator of nuclear power plant has thousands of thin tubes. These tubes play an important role in maintaining the pressure boundary between the primary and secondary side of nuclear power plant. The steam generator tube is easy to be damaged because of the severe operating conditions such as the high temperature and pressure. Therefore, tremendous efforts are made to assess the structural integrity of the steam generator tubes. The eddy current test is the most popular non-destructive test to assess the integrity of the tubes. However, the eddy current test has the limitation to size the flaw accurately because the eddy current signal behavior depends on the total volume of flaw. This paper shows the possibility that the ultrasonic test method can be applied to detect the flaws in the steam generator tubes and to measure them quantitatively. From the test results, it is expected that if the ultrasonic test is put to practical use in the steam generator tube inspection, the inspection results will be improved.

In this paper, we studied about the radiated emission of EFT(Electrical Fast Transient)/Burst signal, referenced IEC-61000-4-4 of the international EMC standard and its effect on EUT(Equipment Under the Test) when EFT/Burst signal (Conducted noise) induced on a power cable to EUT. Firstly, we set up test sample by the standard and +4 kV standard signal is induced by EFT/Burst signal generator with 1 m length power cable for 1 minute. Consequently, we found not only induced EFT/Burst signal along power line, but also directly radiated emission signal from EFT/Burst signal generator (Radiated emission noise of EFT/Burst). The radiated emission signal of EFT/Burst was 30 dB which is higher than limit of CISPR 22 which is international EMC standard. Moreover, we measured the electric field strength by changing distance from maximum radiated emission point to electric field strength tester. As a result, this electric field strength was 23 V/m which is higher than international EMC standard test level(CISPR 24). Therefore, it was confirmed that the probability of malfunction may be high when radiated emission of EFT/Burst noise exists near the EUT.
TACAN(TACtical Air Navigation) was created to support military aircraft's short range navigation (200~300 mile). TACAN must fulfill a condition of MIL-STD-291C, the U.S. Military Standards, which addresses the sum of 15Hz and 135Hz should be within 55%, following the factor of modulations for both to be $21{\pm}9%$ each. Within the existing TACAN antenna, modulation factor for 15Hz and 135Hz are created differently depending on its diameter, wavelength, angle of gradient, internal modulation method or using frequency code. It brings up a problem where applications needed to be stopped and repaired when modulating signal exceeds the standard of MIL-STD-291C since the existing TACAN antenna does not have coordination function. Hence, plan and produce a modulating signal generator using FPGA, and check the changes in the modulation factor for 15HZ and 135Hz, depending on the values that have been set in each criteria. Moreover, allow the modulating signal generator to be automatically adjusted based on the monitoring signal emitted by antenna, and place alarm sound just in case if it exceeds the standard.

Eddy Current Examination is expected as the effective technique for nondestructive inspection of steam generator and various kinds of heat exchanging tubes made of STS - 304. In Case of E. C. T, a study on the various factors which have an effect on coil impedance is very important to the sensitivity of defect detection and the ratio of signal to noise. Therefore, this study analyzed coil impedance by means of the variational principle, the minimized theory of energy functional and the application of Finite Element Method. Really by using E. C. T, the relationship between the size of defects and the intensity of Eddy Current Signals can be obtained. Signal intensity becomes maximum at certain frequency. This frequency is affected by the characteristics and the position of signal sources.
In this study, we implement the multiple frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis system for body composition analysis. Overall system consists of : 1) conductivity electrodes to contact with hands and foots, 2) multiple frequency alternating current signal generator for generating 5, 50, 250kHz frequency and 800uA contained alternating current signal, 3) voltage signal detector, 4) phase signal detector, 5) key-pad to input individual information, 6) micro controller for data processing, 7) LCD for processed data to display, 8) system power, We explain the architecture of the system and required theory to implement the system. Finally, experimental results are illustrated to show the performance of the system.
In conventional small signal stability analysis, system is assumed to be invariant and the state space equations are used to calculate the eigenvalues of state matrix. However, when a system contains switching elements such as FACTS devices, it becomes non-continuous system. In this case, a mathematically rigorous approach to system small signal stability analysis is by means of eigenvalue analysis of the system periodic transition matrix based on discrete system analysis method. In this research, RCF(Resistive Companion Form) method is used to analyse small signal stability of a non-continuous system including switching elements'. Applying the RCF method to the differential and integral equations of power system, generator, controllers and FACTS devices including switching elements should be modeled in the form of state transition matrix. From this state transition matrix eigenvalues which are mapped to unit circle can be calculated.

One of the important topics concerning the safety of electrical and electronic system is the reliability of the wiring system. The Time-Frequency Domain Reflectometry(TFDR) is a state-of-the-art system for detection and estimation of the fault on a wiring/cable. The purpose of this paper is to implement a Labview based TFDR Real Time system though the instruments of PCI extensions for Instrumentation(PXI). The TFDR Real Time system consists of the five parts: Reference signal design, signal generation, signal acquisition, algorithm execution, results diplay part. In the signal generation and acquisition parts we adopt the Arbitrary Waveform Generator(AWG) and Digital Storage Oscilloscope(DSO) PXI modules which offer commonality, compatibility and easy integration at low cost. And execution of the PXI modules not only is controlled by the Labview programing but also the total system process is executed by the Labview application software.

Due to the miniaturization of electrical components and assembles on signal circuits, transient overvoltages caused by switching operation or lightning surges have become more interesting concern to the field of electrical engineering. In this paper, the development of surge protective devices(SPDs) that can protect sensitive signal device on shipboard from overvoltages are described. Two kinds of SPDs are designed and tested by using a combination surge generator which can produce the standard impulse current of 8/20${\mu}s$ 2.1kA according to the IEC 61000-4-5 standard. From the simulation and experimental results, it is confirmed that the proposed SPDs have an enough protection performance with a low insertion loss and a low clamping voltage.

In this paper, we present the fabrication and characteristic analysis of Sagnac interferometric optical fiber senior(OFS) system for detecting pulsed ultrasonic signal in underwater. The hollow cylindrical mandrel wound round by single mode optical fiber is used as sensing component. The ultrasonic signal source is simulated by the PZT actuator operated by an function generator. The distance dependency of the OFS's sensitivity was measured. The sensitivity has been shown to be inversely propotional to the square-root of distance between ultrasonic source and sensing component. It has also been shown that the OFS could detect the signals less affected by ultrasonic path comparing to conventional acousto-electric sensor. and accurate location of ultrasonic signal could be carried out using two OFSs.

In this paper, a general fuzzy syntactic method for recognition of flaw patterns and for the measurement of flaw characteristic parameters for a non-destructive inspections signal, called eddy-current, is presented. Solutions are given to the subtasks of primitive pattern selection, signal to symbol transformation, pattern grammar formulation, and event-synchronous flaw pattern extraction based on the grammars. Fuzzy attribute grammars are used as the model for the pattern grammar because of their descriptive power in the face of uncertain constraints caused by nose or distortion in the signal waveform, due to their ability to handle syntactic as well as semantic information. This approach has been implemented and the performance of eh resultant system has been evaluated using a library of law patterns obtained from steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants by an eddy current-based non-destructive inspection method.
