The underwater explosion shock test is performed for the evaluation of the shock-resistant capability which is a very critical factor considering the survivability of the battle ship. Some measured signals have impulsive noise and gaussian white noise because of the unstable power supply system and the transient movement of cables during the underwater explosion shock test. The advanced shock signal analysis method which remove the noise of measured signal using the threshold policy of the median filter and the orthogonal wavelet coefficients are proposed. It is verified that the signal-to-noise ratio was improved about 30㏈ by the numerical simulation.
This paper proposes a portable cable fault detection system with automatic fault distinction and distance measurement using time-frequency correlation and reference signal elimination method and automatic fault classification algorithm in order to have more accurate fault determination and location detection than conventional time domain refelectometry (TDR) system despite increased signal attenuation due to the long distance to cable fault location. The performance of the developed system method was validated via an experiment in the test field constructed for the standardized performance test of power cable fault location equipments. The performance evaluation showed that accuracy of the developed system is less than 1.34%. Also, an error of automatic fault type and location by detection of phase and peak value through elimination of the reference signal and normalization of correlation coefficient and automatic fault classification algorithm not occurred.
Recently, advance signal analysis which is called "Time-Frequency Analysis" has been developed. Wavelet and Wigner Distribution are used to the method. Wavelet transform(WT) is applied to time-frequency analysis of waveforms obtained by an ultrasonic pulse-echo technique. The Gabor function is adopted as the analyzing wavelet. Wavelet analysis method is an attractive technique for evolution of material characterization evoluation. In this paper, the feasibility of suppression of ultrasonic background noise signal using WT has been presented. These results suggest that ultrasonic background noise ginal can be suppressed and enhanced even for SNR of 20.8 dB. This property of the WT is extremely useful for the detecting flaw echos embedded in background noise.und noise.
The objective of this study is to find the change of signal characteristics of matrix cracks due to the different specimen shapes. As the concept of the smart structure, monitoring of acoustic emission (AE) can be applied to inspect the fracture of the structures in operating condition using built-in sensors. To understand the characteristics of matrix crack signals, we performed tensile tests by changing the thickness and width of the specimens. This paper describes the implementation of time-frequency analysis such as wavelet transform (WT) fur the quantitative evaluation of fracture signals. The experimental result shows the distinctive signal features in frequency domain due to the different specimen shapes.
This paper presents a development of the multi-channel data acquisition/logging system for a sensor signal processing and a method of the evaluation and a temperature compensation for the A/D converters with the specific analog and digital circuit including the software. Also, we have designed a hardware and a software filters with smart algorithm for better signal processing of the proposed system. Software approach was adopted to obtain the stable data from A/D converter.
Ultraprecision machining and MEMS technology have been taken more and more important position in machining of microparts. Micro endmilling is one of the prominent technology that has wide spectrum of application field ranging from macro parts to micro products. Also, the method of micro-grooving using micro endmilling is used widely owing to many merit, but has problems of precision and quality of products due to tool wear and tool fracture. This investigation deals with state monitoring using acoustic emission(AE) signal in the micro-grooving. Characteristic evaluation of AE raw signal, AE hit and frequency analysis for state monitoring is also presented in the paper.
In this paper, we evaluate performance of a hybrid decode-amplify-forward relaying protocol in underlay cognitive radio. In the proposed protocol, a secondary relay which is chosen by partial relay selection method helps a transmission between a secondary source and a secondary destination. In particular, if the chosen relay decodes the secondary source's signal successfully, it will forward the decoded signal to the secondary destination. Otherwise, it will amplify the signal received from the secondary source and will forward the amplified signal to the secondary destination. We evaluate the performance of our scheme via theory and simulation. Results show that the proposed protocol outperforms the amplify-and-forward and decode-and-forward protocols in terms of outage probability.
To provide ameliorated aided environment to hearing impaired listeners, background noise reduction techniques are investigated as a front-end of conventional hearing aids, and their effects are tested in a subjective manner. Several speech enhancement schemes were implemented and preference tests or normal listeners are performed to select the best possible scheme or hearing impaired listeners. Results indicated that SDT scores without the speech enhancement scheme drop more sharply as SNR decreases than those with the speech enhancement techniques. SDT scores obtained or hearing impaired listeners with hearing aids showed large variability. However, all impaired listeners preferred noise suppressed sounds to unsuppressed ones.
Speech synthesis can classify by synthesis way, that is waveform coding, source coding and mixture coding. Specially, waveform coding is suitable for high quality synthesis. However, it is not desirable by synthesis techniques of syllable or phoneme unit because it do not separate and handles excitation and formant part. Therefore, there is a need for pitch alteration method applied in synthesis by the rule in waveform coding. This study propose about pitch alteration method that use spectrum scaling after do to flatten spectra by subband linear approximation to minimize spectrum distortion. This paper show evaluation whether show excellency of some measure compared with LPC, Cepstrum, lifter function and method that propose. estimation method seeks distribution of each flattened signal and measured degree of flattened spectra Signal flattened is normalized, So that highest point amounts to zero, and distribution of signal ,whose average is zero, is calculated. this show result that measure the spectrum distortion rate to estimate performance of method that propose. The average spectrum distortion rate was kept below the average 2.12%, so the method that propose is superiors than existent method.

The goal of this paper is to analyze, through simulations and experiments, GNSS interference mitigation performance under various types of antenna structures against wideband and narrowband interferences using spatial-temporal adaptive signal processing (STAP) techniques. The STAP approach, which combines spatial and temporal processing, is a viable means of GNSS array signal processing that enhancing the desired signal quality and providing protection against interference. In this paper, we consider four types of 3D antenna array structure - Uniform Linear Array (ULA), Uniform Rectangular Array (URA), Uniform Circular Array (UCA), and the Single-Ring Cylindrical Array (SRCA) under an interference environment. Analytical evaluation and simulations are performed to investigate the system performance. This is followed by simulation GPS orbits in interfered environment are used to evaluate the STAP performance. Furthermore, experiments using a 2x2 URA hardware simulator data show that with the removal of wideband and narrowband interference through the STAP techniques, the signal tracking performance can be enhanced.
