Comparison of Alpha Particle Signals with respect to Incident Direction onto n-Si:H pin diodes

  • For the application of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) p-i-n structural diode as the alpha particle spectroscopy, the induced charge collection was simulated based on a relevant non-uniform charge generation model. The simulation was accomplished for two extreme cases of the incident direction of alpha particle, p-and n-side, respectively. As expected, for the complete charge collection, the hole collection should be severely considered due to its poor mobility and the full depletion bias required. For the comparison of signal corresponding to the detector configuration or structure, although n-i-p configuration shows a wider range of linearity to the energy, p-i-n configuration is more suitable in the viewpoint of linearity and signal value for the considering energy range.

  • In high-capacity disk drives with ever-growing track density, the allowable level of position error signal (PES) is becoming smaller and smaller. A substantial portion of the PES is caused by disk vibration. This can be reduced by using a head gimbal assemblies (HGAs) that do not confine the slider movement to the vertical direction to disks, but allow movement to the radial direction of disks with respect to disk vibration. Several types of HGAs are proposed for such radial motion of the slider. (omitted)

  • This paper is estimating a target direction of arrival with incident to receiver in spatial. This paper presented covariance using constraint matrix to correlation interference signal cancellation in multi input multi output array antennas system. we proposed a target direction of arrival estimation algorithm using cost function and minimum variance method. Through simulation, we were analysis a performance to compare general SPT-LCMV algorithm and proposal algorithm. We showed that proposal algorithm improve more target estimation than general SPT-LCMV algorithm in direction of arrival.

  • In this paper, we studied on an attenuation effect of automobile exhaust noise according to the direction of canceling speaker in duct-acoustic ANC system. Automobile exhaust noise was recorded at 800rpm, 3500rpm and 5000rpm of a diesel engine. Directions of canceling speaker can be set to $30^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$ and $150^{\circ}$ against the primary noise flow by acrylic ducts to be made for the experimentation. DSP board used to control the ANC system. The algorithm of this ANC system applied the Filtered-x-LMS algorithm that is modified to compensate for a property of DSP input signal and the secondary-path effect. As an experiment result, the direction of canceling speaker was proved to influence the reduction effect of noise. The $150^{\circ}$ duct in the attenuation effect of noise showed a better result than the $90^{\circ}$ or $30^{\circ}$ duct.

  • In this paper, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio about pulse, integration coherent, and integration non coherent system in radar system. It compared existing with proposal method in order to estimation two target direction of arrival. Generally, radar system radiate pulse wave in order to decreasing distortion of return wave and transmission wave. We analysed the performance integration coherent and integration non coherent. Integration coherent is processing system before doing envelop detection, and integration non coherent is processing system after doing envelop detection. Through simulation, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio to estimation two target range detection and estimated target direction of arrival. We showed that integration coherent system is the most good performance.

  • In this paper, an adaptive nulling algorithm which can be used to form nulls in the direction of jammer or interference signals in array antennas of single port system is proposed. The proposed adaptive algorithm does not require a priori knowledge of the incoming signal direction and can be applied to the partially adaptive arrays. This algorithm is the combination of the PSO(Particle Swam Optimization) algorithm and the gradient-based perturbation adaptive algorithm, which shows stable nulling performance adaptively even on the moving jammer environment where the incident direction of the interference signal is changing with time.

  • Micro wave seeker detects micro wave signal reflecting from a object and modifies the angle of a antenna in the direction of a reflecting signal. Gimbal structure makes a motion in the direction of an elevation axis and an azimuth axis and change the direction of a missile toward a object. As before, Micro wave seeker is a important part of a missile. Especially, gimbal structure is designed to resist a external force generated by a strong propelling power. For that reason, it is essential to analyze a vibration feature of gimbal structure. In this paper, we analyze dynamic characteristics of a gimbal structure of a micro wave seeker. And we measure frequency response functions of a gimbal structure in order to investigate the effect of a pre-load on bearing.

  • Automatic fingerprint identification is a process of direction extraction, binarization, thinning, minutiae extraction of fingerprint identification. In this process, binarization after direction extraction affects a process of thinning and minutiae extraction. The fasle binarization is increased the false minutiae extraction rate. In this paper, we proposed more exact minutiae extraction algorithm with more enhanced binarization method, compared with traditional binarization process. We could have more enhanced results by using the direction and the half distance between ridges as the threshold of binarization process. In an experiment, Fingerprint images from NIST DBI are tested and the result shows that the proposed binarization algorithm increases minutiae extraction.

  • The availability of the GPS signal has been expanded greatly in the field of society overall through the development and construction of the GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System). Furthermore, in the military, aviation and field of space, the GPS signal is applied widely through the combination of INS consisting of gyroscope and accelerometer, IMU, AHRS with the addition of magnetic sensor. Particularly, the performance of these equipments or sensors is very important with GPS and PAR(Precision Approach Radar) in the flight control of the aircraft. This paper deals with MATLAB simulation and ROLSO(Reduced Order Luenberger State Observer) design to reduce the load of system and realize the stable lateral direction approach control in an appropriate time for reduction of the horizontal error which is importantly considered while an aircraft lands instead of the FOLSO(Full Order Luenberger State Observer) using all measurement values. Consequently, ROLSO is expected to be used for the aircraft's attitude control in the aircraft landing causing the burden to the pilots.
