The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of modern consumer society and to analyze how the meaning of postmodern-feminism is consumed into what image of preference in fashion. The function of modern society has changed into the system which is centered around consumption from the one that emphasizes labor and production of mass consumption age by mass production. In this consumer society, consumption means just not to waste of production but to consume the commodity sign reflected on the desire of a moderner. In other words, it means what is consumed will be the meaning, preference, symbol, and image mood not goods itself with physical feature. Existing feminism has affected by postmodernism. Due to that, postmodern-feminism has developed, taking to pieces the paternal argument since the late 1960s. It has tried to give up hope this idea, regarding sex distinction as a socially organized category contrary to women's identity of biological aspect suppressed in the paternal system of value. Especially it has demanded only one type on sex should be translated into a distinctive quality, multiple meaning, and sex. Accordingly in modern fashion, this aspect is expressed like the followings : distinction into women's image evaded fixation, multiple meaning into image of androgyny, multiple sex into that of mixture. And this is used as the image of symbolic goods, also the purpose of brand difference.

In this paper, we consider changes of algebra strands around the world. And we suggest needs of designing new computer environment where we make and manipulate geometric recursive patterns. For this purpose, we first consider relations among symbols, meanings and patterns. And we also consider Logo environment and characterize algebraic features. Then we introduce L-system which is considered as action letters and subgroup of turtle group. There are needs to be improved since there exists some ambiguity between sign and action. Based on needs of improving the previous L-system, we suggest new commands in JavaMAL microworld. So we design a microworld for recursive patterns and consider meanings of letters in new environments. Finally, we consider the method to integrate L-system and other existing microworlds, such as Logo and DGS. Specially, combining Logo and DGS, we consider the movement of such tiles and folding nets by L-system commands. And we discuss possible benefits in this environment.

본 논문은 하이퍼 수화문장의 구성요소 중 하나인 신체요소 동작기호 데이터베이스와 수화동작 데이터베이스를 구축하는 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 다룬다. 청각장애인과 수화사용자가 수화단어를 간편하게 편집할 수 있도록 신체요소 동작기호 편집 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 이를 이용하여 약 1,300 개의 수화단어 데이터베이스를 구축하였다.

기호학 이론은 현실주의 영화의 해석에 있어 매우 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 현실주의 영화는 현실 생활의 사건과 상황을 반영하는데 집중하며, 사실적인 묘사를 통해 관객에게 현실의 문제를 생각하도록 한다. 이 과정에서, 기호학 이론은 영화 속의 상징적인 요소와 그 배후에 함축되어 있는 깊은 의미를 해석할 수 있도록 유도한다. 본 연구는 리얼리즘 영화에 나타난 기호학적 특징을 소쉬르의 기의와 기표의 개념을 통해 접근하고, 특히 영화의 기호에 나타난 임의성과 2급 기호 체계(언어체계+신화 체계)가 영화의 기호적 함의와 영화의 문화적 의의에 작용하는 과정을 분석하고자 하였다. 그리고 <도가니>의 사례에서 적용되는 과정을 살펴봄으로써 영화 속의 함축적인 서사 구조, 의미 구조, 이데올로기가 사회를 반영하는 대중문화 속에서 드러내는 영향과 효과를 연구하고자 하였다. 연구를 통해 영화의 기호가 전달하고자 하는 잠재적 정보의 다채로운 가능성을 볼 수 있었으며, 기호학을 통해 창의적 견해와 해석을 가능성을 볼 수 있었다.

공공시설물에서의 사인은 정확한 의미전달을 목적으로 하고 있다. 특히 유도사인의 경우는 우리 주위환경과 루트를 적절히 표시하고 인식시키면서 우리의 행위를 유도해 주고 있다. 그런데 현재의 유도사인은 3차원적 공간의 방향을 2차원적 관점에서 보여주고 있는 것이 대부분으로, 이는 실제의 3차원 공간 속을 이동할 때 혼란을 유발시키는 한 요인으로 간주된 다. 따라서, 본 연구는 현재의 유도사인의 역할을 재 검토해보고 시지각적 측면에서 효율적인 유도사인의 방향을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 우선, 본 논문에서는 지하철역을 대상으로 한 의식조사를 통해 이용자의 유도사인에 대한 인지적 태도를 알아보았다. 그 결과, 현재 이용되는 역의 유도 사인은 방향정보 전달의 기능이 제대로 수행되고 있지 않으며, 특히 화살표의 표현방법이 재고되어야 함을 시사해 주고 있다. 본 연구는 인간의 공간 인지적 메카니즘을 토대로, 방향 정보 전달에 있어 현행의 2차원적 화살표 표현의 문제점을 고찰한다. 이러한 새로운 모색은 효율적인 유도사인의 구축에 도움이 되리라 생각된다.

본 논문은 LMS 알고리즘의 수렴 속도를 향상시키기 위한 효율적인 신호간섭 제어기법을 제안한다. 수신 데이터를 재활용하여 심볼 시간 주기에 계수들을 곱함으로써 적응되는 제안된 알고리즘의 수렴특성이 수렴 속도의 향상을 이론적으로 증명하기 위해 분석한다. 스텝-크기 매개변수 ${\mu}$가 증가 됨에 따라 알고리즘의 수렴 속도가 제어된다. 고유치 확산을 증가시킴에 따라 적응 등화기의 수렴속 도를 천천히 제어하고 평균 자승 에러의 안정-상태 값을 증가시키는 효과를 나타내며 데이터-재사 용 LMS 기술이 수렴속도를 (B+1)배만큼 증가시켜 적응 등화기에서 신호간섭제어의 우수성을 입증 한다.

지폐는 물물교환, 가치척도의 도구일 뿐만 아니라 한 국가의 정체성을 나타내는 문화적 상징 기호라 할 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 세계 선진국과 우리나라 지폐를 대상으로 디자인 특성을 분석하고, 문화코드로서 각국의 지폐 디자인에 나타난 국가 이미지 특성을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 연구결과 첫째, 지폐 디자인의 사용성 측면을 권종 수, 크기유형, 색상, 점자체계의 항목으로 평가하였으며, 스위스의 지폐와 유로화가 상대적으로 우수한 것으로 평가되었다. 둘째, 지폐 디자인에 표현된 이미지 유형은 우리나라를 비롯한 미국, 일본 등의 국가는 국가 체제 구축에 공헌한 인물을 주요 소재로 등장시켜 '국가주도형' 문화를 나타낸다. 반면에 유럽 국가는 예술가와 과학자, 그리고 여성 인물 등을 주요 소재로 선정하여 남녀평등의식이 반영, '시민문화 주도형'임을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 스위스, 네덜란드, 프랑스, 영국 등의 지폐는 작품형 소재를 사용하고, 화려한 색채, 컴퓨터그래픽 표현기법, 개성적인 구성 등으로 지폐 디자인을 하나의 시각 예술작품으로 표현하고 있다. 본 연구는 세계적 맥락에서 우리나라 지폐디자인의 현주소를 진단해보고자 하였으며 이로써 새로운 지폐 디자인 연구를 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다. 또한, 문화 디자인의 관점에서 각 나라의 국가 이미지를 상징하는 주요 매체로서 지폐 디자인의 중요성을 다시 한번 인식시키고자 하는데 의의를 갖는다.

본 논문에서는 엔트로피 복호화 과정을 부분적으로 수행하여 특징 벡터를 구성하는 새로운 JPEG-2000 압축 영상 검색 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 JPEG-2000 엔트로피 부호화 과정을 통해 발생하는 다양한 문맥 정보를 이용한다. 엔트로피 부호화 기술은 주위 인접한 웨이블릿 계수들의 부호 및 중요 상태 계수의 구조적인 패턴을 분석하여 세 가지의 부호화 패스 및 네 가지의 부호화 기술을 통해 총 19가지의 문맥 정보를 발생한다. 문맥 정보는 산술 부호화 과정에서 부호화 하는 심벌의 확률을 예측하기 위한 모델을 제공한다. 그리고 문맥 정보는 영상의 국부적인 특징을 서술 할 수 있기 때문에 다양한 패턴 특성을 나타내는 질감 영상을 효율적으로 정의할 수 있다. 또한 제안하는 알고리즘은 JPEG-2000 압축 영상에서 복호화 과정을 부분적으로 수행하기 때문에 영상 검색을 수행하기 위한 검색 시간에서 뛰어난 성능을 나타낼 수 있다. 실험을 위해 MIT VisTex 질감 영상을 이용하여 다양한 왜곡 영상 및 유사 영상 데이터베이스를 구성하였으며 기존 검색 알고리즘을 구현하여 제안하는 검색 시스템과 비교 및 평가한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 알고리즘이 기존 검색 방법보다 검색 성능에서 뛰어날 뿐만 아니라 검색 시간에서도 많은 이득을 얻을 수 있다.

South Sumatra's capital, Palembang, has long maintained a river-oriented transportation system. With road transportation's increased importance for exploiting natural resources, however, hundreds of roads have been constructed since the Dutch colonial period. This article examines how the construction of roads and bridges affected people's lives and social networks in Palembang, and what social and political significance it has in the context of a region in the postcolonial Indonesia, with a focus on the huge river called the Musi River, which horizontally crosses the city. After independence, there has been strong aspiration to link these two parts by road, and in 1965 the Musi Bridge (then the Sukarno Bridge) over the river was eventually opened. The construction of the bridge apparently initiated socioeconomic transformations and development in the region, including Ulu (the southern river bank)'s rapid urbanization. However, the features of regional development actually were prerequisites for "national" development. The regional development was impossible without financial support from the central government, and the local or regional aspiration for development was often supported only when it fitted with national envision. The Musi Bridge was a model case that fitted with such national envision. While it was the symbol of regional development, it was also celebrated as an exemplary sign of "national" development, by both Sukarno's government and Suharto's New Order regime. By analyzing the discussions and discourses regarding the Musi project since early 1950s, in addition to its social and economic impact after the construction, this article explores the continuities and changes in the roles and significance of the (construction of the) Musi Bridge with the changing political backstops in both regimes. Together with it, this article also aims to reexamine the interplay between "the national" and "the regional" in the prevalent aspiration for the national and regional "development" throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
