영상처리기법을 이용한 소화기 조준감사 자동화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bore-Sighting Automation for Small Arms Using the Image Processing)

  • This paper is launched to get an exact bore-sighting value in the process of assembling for a dual-barrel weapon. Image processing method with a CCD(Charged Coupled Device) camera is chosen for the error reduction of bore-sighting. The results of this method by using a CCD camera and the testing target method are described in this paper. After the performance of the dual-barrel weapon and that of the fire-control system in the dual barrel weapon system is confirmed, the bore-sighting which is a part of the process in the system assembly is accomplished. In this process, the position of the barrel is identified by using the testing target method that is an existing bore-sighting method. Then, the fixing line of the fire-control system is checked by a day-optical part. The precision of the bore-sighting is required within several mils, however the manual method using the naked eyes makes it worse. Therefore, a CCD camera is installed in the eyepieces. Next, we can get an image of the sighting and the center coordinate values of the laser-pointer from each barrel by image processing method. A required bore-sighting value is calculated from the eccentricity of the center coordinate. Finally, It can be applied to adopt this result in the assembling process of the dual-barrel weapon.

제주도 북동해역에서 관경을 위한 목시조사 (A Sighting Survey of Dolphin Watching in the Northeastern Waters of Jeju)

  • This study presents the results of basic sighting surveys conducted for dolphin watching from 2004 to 2006 in the northeastern waters of Jeju. The sighting probability of dolphins (bottlenose dolphin, Tursiops truncatus) was 71.9% (82 sightings out of 114 surveys). The dolphin's attractive behaviors observed included leaping, tail or peduncle slapping and surfing. The findings of this study provide useful baseline data for dolphin watching in the northeastern waters of Jeju.

남해안 상괭이(Finless porpoise)의 분포 (Finless porpoise, Neophocaena phocaenoides, Distribution in the South Sea of Korea)

  • To confirm the distributon of finless porpoise, Neophocaena phocaenoides, in the South Sea of Korea, data on bycatch, stranding, and drifting of finless porpoises from 1999 to 2009 were used and a sighting survey was conducted from the R/V Tamgu No. 9 and 10 in June and November, 2009 and March, 2010. The total number of bycaught, stranded, and drifting finless porpoises was 607, with position being known for 186 of these. At the center of Yeosu, there were few position data on bycaught, stranded, and drifting finless porpoises, and data could not confirm the distribution of finless porpoises. Thus, there were limits on the usefulness of bycaught, stranded, and drifting data for confirming the distribution of finless porpoises. In the three sighting surveys, the sighting rate was highest at 0.231 ind./n.m. in the western South Sea in June, 2009. Sighting rate was less than 0.1 ind./n.m. in November, 2009 and March, 2010. This is likely to be due to seasonal migration in western South Sea. All sighting rates in the eastern South Sea were over 0.13 ind./n.m.. According to the results of the sighting survey, finless porpoises are distributed around the islands and inner bay along the path of the research vessel in the South Sea. There were numerous finless porpoises in the offshore areas of Mokpo, Yeosu, Tongyeong, Dadaepo, and Gaduk-do. This study will be utilized as part of a future abundance assessment of finless porpoise in the South Sea of Korea.

Development of Optical Sighting System for Moving Target Tracking

  • In this study, we developed an optical sighting system capable of shooting at a long-distance target by operating a digital gyro mirror composed of a gyro sensor and an FSM. The optical sighting system consists of a reticle part, a digital gyro mirror (FSM), a parallax correction lens, a reticle-ray reflection mirror, and a partial reflection window. In order to obtain the optimal volume and to calculate the leading angle range according to the driving angle of the FSM, a calculation program using Euler rotation angles and a three-dimensional reflection matrix was developed. With this program we have confirmed that the horizontal leading angle of the developed optical sighting system can be implemented under about ${\pm}8^{\circ}$ for the maximum horizontal driving angle (${\beta}={\pm}12.5^{\circ}$) of the current FSM. Also, if the ${\beta}$ horizontal driving angle of the FSM is under about ${\pm}15.5^{\circ}$, it can be confirmed that the horizontal direction leading angle can be under ${\pm}10.0^{\circ}$. If diagonal leading angles are allowed, we confirmed that we can achieve a diagonal leading angle of ${\pm}10.0^{\circ}$ with a vertical driving angle ${\alpha}$ of ${\pm}7.1^{\circ}$ and horizontal driving angle ${\beta}$ of ${\pm}12.5^{\circ}$.

주시(Eye Dominance)에 관한 조사 및 인간공학적 분석 (Surveying and the Ergonomic Analysis of Eye Dominance)

  • It is known that most people have a dominant eye, even though each of their two eyes in isolation may provide equal vision. In this study, 600 Korean male and female subjects aging from 11 to 78 were selected to investigate the various statistics about eye dominance( whether the left or right eye is dominant} in Korean and their employment characteristics of preferred eye in sighting diverse things. A simple sighting test was applied such that subjects are requested to aim a distance target through small hole in B4 sized paper with both eyes open. The dominant eye was determined by alternate occlusion: when viewing with the dominant eye into the hole is aligned with the target, whereas when viewing with the other eye into the hole appears offset to one side. The descriptive statistics showed that 83.7% and 16.3% were right and left eye dominant respectively. Moreover, various statistical analysis revealed that general tendency of eye dominance was varied by age, gender, hand dominance and visual acuity. It was thus found from these results that people sighting their eyes differently depending on the eye dominance when they sight things.

그리기를 통한 초등학생의 시각과 청각 개념에 대한 이해 분석 (An Analysis of Elementary School Students' Understanding for Sighting and Hearing through Drawing)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the understanding of the sighting and hearing elementary school students have through drawing. For this purpose, we conducted a questionnaire survey of 602 elementary school students. The questionnaire was composed with open-ended question developed by West et al.(2008). This questionnaire was presented only appearance of face. And let them express the sensory pathway by drawing and writing. The students' responses for questionnaire were classified by 5 levels. Inner-researcher consistency was 0.89, inter-researcher consistency was 0.83. The data analyzed were ${\chi}^2$ by using SPSS. The result of this study were as following: First, elementary school students have misconception of sighting and hearing. There were no difference among the grade. In spite of becoming upper grade, students have still misconception. Second, scientific concept that male students have were significantly more than female. Third, the concepts of the anatomically organs are more exposed in real-life situations, students known better. Within these results, it would be used for developing teaching-learning strategies which can use misconceptions students have.

수평각관측에 있어서 구심오차가 관측치에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Eccentric Error in Horizontal Angle Measurement)

  • 수평각 관측에 있어서 관측값에 미치는 영향은 우연오차인 시준오차 및 읽기오차 뿐만 아니라 구심오차도 이에 수반된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위의 오차중 구심오차가 관측값에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위하여 구심오차의 이론식 및 평가식을 유도하고 이를 이용 관찰 시험관측을 통하여 고찰해보았다. 본 연구결과 구심오차는 시준거리, 관측각, 편심거리 및 편심각을 알므로서 산출되고, 3배각수로 관측함이 오차가 작아 실용적이며, 또한 기기의 성능에 따라 시준거리 및 관측각을 이용하여 그 평가가 가능하다.

  • 水平角 觀測에 있어서 測準誤差는 測角値의 精度에 큰 影響을 미친다. 名 測定距離에 따라 個個의 測角値에 이 測準誤差를 考慮한 값이 正確한가를 考察하기 위하여 三邊測量을 遂行하였다. 따라서, 本 硏究에서는 邊長에 의해 計算한 正確한 값과 實測角과의 比較를 통하여 測角誤差를 檢討하였다.

2000년대 초반 제주도 남방큰돌고래(Tursiops aduncus)의 분포 양상 (Occurrence of Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins Tursiops aduncus off Jeju Island, Korea during the Early 2000s)

  • The Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin Tursiops aduncus commonly inhabits the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea. An investigation was conducted using data from vessel sightings and point sightings from land. During 40 days of vessel sighting surveys between 2007 and 2010, a total of 18 dolphin groups were encountered. The overall sighting rate was 0.01 group/n.m. Most Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins were sighted within 500 m of the northern coast of Jeju Island during surveys. Also, dolphin groups were observed 47 times during 109 days of shore-based surveys conducted between 2011 and 2015. The results of a dolphin distribution survey conducted in 2011 were generally similar to the results of previous surveys. However, there were no dolphin sightings from 2012 in Hanllim-eup, in the north-western part of the island, where dolphins were sighted frequently until 2011, whereas dolphin observations increased in the southern part of the island. The mean group size was 35.4 (SD=18.08) individuals. The most frequently sighted group size was 36-40 individuals. To conserve resident dolphins off Jeju Island, long term sighting surveys and environmental assessment are required to monitor their distribution patterns.

목시조사(2000-2010)에 의한 한국 연안 고래류의 종류 및 분포 (Distribution of Whales and Dolphins in Korean Waters Based on a Sighting Survey from 2000 to 2010)

  • In the late 1970s, the National Fisheries Research & Development Institute (NFRDI) started cetacean research to submit the Korean whale catch record to the International Whaling Commission. This continued until the moratorium on commercial whaling in 1986. The NFRDI resumed cetacean research with a pilot whale sighting survey in 1999. Subsequently, the NFRDI has conducted 53 cetacean sighting surveys within the Korean exclusive economic zone between 2000 and 2010. The surveys took a total of 760 days and cruising for 23,866 nautical miles. The finless porpoise Neophocaena asiaeorientalis was sighted most frequently (735 times), followed by the minke whale Balaenoptera acutorostrata (396 times), the long-beaked common dolphin Delphinus capensis (102 times), and the Pacific white-sided dolphin Lagenorhynchus obliquidens (27 times). Minke whales were distributed in the Yellow Sea and coastal area of the East Sea from spring to fall. Pacific white-sided dolphin sightings were restricted to the middle and upper coastal areas of the East Sea in summer. Common dolphins were sighted from east of the southern coast to the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula from spring to fall. Finless porpoise occurred in all Korean coastal areas, except the middle and upper eastern coast.
