Until now, many guidance laws have been developed. They mainly used the classical tail-pursuit guidance method based on geometric angle information, the proportional navigation method based on the line of sight(LOS) rate, and the optimal guidance law based on optimal control theorem. In the augmented guidance law, target acceleration information and autopilot characteristics are added the guidance command. In this study, new guidance laws considering geometric angle are proposed. Two guidance laws are developed for the midcourse guidance law, and a guidance law is developed for the terminal guidance respectively. The proposed guidance laws utilize the LOS rate and the geometric angle information simultaneously. In the midcourse guidance, the guidance command is ...
This paper describes real-time unbalance moment compensation method for line of sight(LOS) stabilization control systems. The factors of system inertia, frictions and unbalance moment affect the control accuracy of drive systems that are equipped to on the move(OTM) platforms requiring LOS stabilization function. In case of the unbalance moment among those factors is continuously changed as variation of relative angle between gravity vector and drive torque vector. Then, consideration of the effect in real-time is very complicate. Therefore, its effect should be designed to be minimized, however, designing it almost zero is impossible in real condition. In other words, it is hard to achieve target performance overcoming stability issue of highly unbalanced systems. To solve these problems, this paper proposes calculation method of unbalance moment by using measured sensor data for LOS stabilization control and its use for control compensation. Also, kinematical converting process and control structure for compensation are explained. The effectiveness of the proposed method as variation of unbalance moment is verified under simulation circumstance modeled by assuming LOS control system with 2-axis gimbal structure.
The 4-th generation of mobile communication aims to realize global, fast and mobile communication service. The satellite communication charges a key role in this field. In this study, an OTM(On-The-Move) antenna which is mounted on ground vehicles and is used for mobile communication between vehicle and satellite was addressed. Since vehicles move during communication, active antenna line-of-sight stabilization is a core technology to guarantee high satellite communication quality. Stabilization of a satellite tracking antenna which consists of 2-DOF gimbals, an elevation gimbal over an azimuth gimbal, was considered in this study. Various disturbance torques such as static and dynamic mass imbalance torques, variation of moment of inertia according to elevation angle, friction torque related to vehicle motion, equivalent disturbance torque due to antenna roll motion, etc. were analyzed. As a robust stabilization control, rate feedback with sliding mode control and position feedback with proportional+integral control was suggested. To compensate antenna roll motion, a supplementary roll rate feed forward control was included beside of the feedback control loop. The feasibility of the analysis and the proposed control design were verified along with some simulation results.
This paper proposes a new linear recursive target state estimator for automotive collision warning system. The target motion is modeled in Cartesian coordinate system while the radar measurements such as range, line-of-sight angle and range rate are obtained in polar coordinate system. To solve the problem by nonlinear relation between these two coordinate system, a practical linear filter design scheme employing the predicted line-of-sight Cartesian coordinate system (PLCCS) is proposed. Especially, PLCCS can effectively incorporate range rate measurements into target tracking system. It is known that the utilization of range rate measurements enables the improvement of target tracking performance. Moreover, PLCCS based target tracking system is implemented by linear recursive filter structure and hence is more suitable scheme for the development of reliable collision warning system. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by computer simulations.
This paper suggests a new concept for missile guidance control, called linearized common curvature guidance law that enhances the probability to kill a target. The proposed guidance system is composed of two switching modes; one for the midcourse guidance and the other for the terminal guidance, which is switched by a specified critical value (.epsilon.). And the system and the commands are formulated and its simulations are provided in comparison with the conventional commanded line of sight guidance algorithm. Miss distance and angle of attack are denoted as performance of parameters. This new concept, common curvature guidance algorithm, revises the navigation guidance and accompanies, various considerations.
In this paper, The Frenet-Serret formula of classical geometric curve theory with the concept of a missile pointing velocity vector are used to analyze and design a missile guidance law. The capture capability of this guidance law is qualitatively studied by comparing the rotations of the velocity vectors of missile and target relative to the line of sight vector. when fuzzy Table look-up theory applied in target-missile distance & angle displacement, this research. It's performance is better then classical research.
By integrating the eye head-position monitioring devices, the present authors developed an eye-controlled human/computer interface based on the line-of-sight and an intentional blink to invoke commands. Also modified was an existing calibration method to reduce the visual angle between the target center and the intersection point of the derived line-of-sight. This modified calibration method allowed 108 or more command blocks to be displayed on the 14 inch monitor with the target acquisition probability(hit rate) of 98% when viewed at the distance of 500 mm apart. An active triggering method using an intentional blink was proposed and was shown to be a feasible and efficient alternative to invoke commands with total triggering time of 0.8 sec or less. The system could be used by the normal people as well as the handicapped individuals as a new human/computer interface.
A series of experiment has been performed on the spray characteristics in a cylindrical confined space with the injection pressure taken as a parameter. By using a single-hole patternator and the Malvern particle sizer, the spray mass flux, drop size and volume concentration distributions along the radial and axial directions were obtained ; the line-of- sight data by Malvern particle sizer have been converted to the ring-of-sight data by using the tomographical transformation techniqe. The experimental results show that, due to the restriction on the ambient gas entrainment by the wall boundary, the effective spray angle is increasing. The spray drops were measured to be smaller in the confined space because of a large number of floating small drops by recirculation of the gas phase and the breakup of large drops by the wall collision. Also the details on the flow behavior of the confined spray are discussed.
This paper proposes a real-time approach on the rotational motion estimation and correction for the roll stabilization of the sight system. This method first estimates a rotation center by the least-mean square algorithm based on the motion vectors of some feature points. And, then, a rotation angle is searched for a best matching block between a reference block image and seccessive input images using MPC(maximum pixel count) matching criterion. Finally, motion correction is performed by the bilinear interpolation technique. Various computer simulations show that the estimation performance is good and the proposed algorithm is a real-time implementable one to the TMS320C6415(500MHz) DSP.
