  • A side channel analysis is a very efficient attack against small devices such as smart cards and wireless sensor nodes. In this paper, we propose an efficient key detection method using a peak selection algorithm in order to find the advanced encryption standard secret key from electromagnetic signals. The proposed method is applied to a correlation electromagnetic analysis (CEMA) attack against a wireless sensor node. Our approach results in increase in the correlation coefficient in comparison with the general CEMA. The experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently and reliably uncover the entire 128-bit key with a small number of traces, whereas some extant methods can reveal only partial subkeys by using a large number of traces in the same conditions.

  • A new flash EEPROM device with p^+ poly-Si control gate and n^+ poly-Si floating side gate was fabricated and characterized. The n^+ poly-Si gate is formed on both sides of the p^+ poly-Si gate, and controls the underneath channel conductivity depending on the number of electron in it. The cell was programmed by hot-carrier-injection at the drain extension, and erased by direct tunneling. The proposed EEPROM cell can be scaled down to 50 nm or less. Shown were measured programming and erasing characteristics. The channel resistance with the write operation was increased by at least 3 times.

  • In the present work, flow analysis has been performed for side channel type double stage ring blower by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation. Shear stress transport model is used as turbulent closure. The commercial CFD code CFX 11.0 is used for the calculations. Each of two stage is calculated separately and the second stage inlet flow is same as the first stage outlet flow so that consecutive calculation is possible. Velocity and pressure fields have been analyzed at the midplane between blades. The numerical results are validated with experimental data for head coefficients at different flow coefficients.

  • Plate and shell heat exchanger(P&SHE) has been applied to the refrigeration and air conditioning systems as evaporators or condensers fur their high efficiency and compactness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of pressure drop in plate and shell heat exchanger. An experiment for single phase (low pressure drop in plate and shell heat exchanger was performed. Also numerical work was conducted using the FLUENT code for $ {\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model. The dependence of friction factor on geometrical Parameters was numerically investigated. The study examines the internal flow and the pressure distribution in the channel of plate and shell heat exchanger. The results of CFD analysis compared with experimental data, and the difference of frictor factor in plate side and shell side are 10% and 12%, respectively. Therefore, the CFD analysis model is effectively predict the performance of plate and shell heat exchanger.

  • A series of numerical simulation has been carried out to study thermo-hydraulic characteristics of a primary surface type heat exchanger, which is designed for the evaporator and condenser of a geothermal ORC. Working fluid is geothermal water at hot side and R-245fa, which is a refrigerant designed for ORC, at cold side. Amplitude ratio of the channel and Reynolds number are considered as design parameters. Nusselt number is presented for the Reynolds number ranging from 50 to 150 and compared to analytic solutions. The result shows that higher amplitude ratio channel gives better heat transfer performance within the range of investigation.

  • The initial hull form of a 3 G/T and 30 knots class coastal leisure boat is newly developed. The performances measured, resistance, trim and sinkage, are investigated in a high-speed, circulating water channel (CWC). The effect of a fin attached on the hull side is studied together. Wave patterns are observed to clarify the relationship between the resistance performance and the wave characteristics. It can be found that the fin plays a role of increasing the resistance performance above a certain velocity.

  • The objectives of this paper are to study the characteristics of heat transfer and pressure drop of the micro channel heat exchangers using diffusion bonding technology. Four types of heat exchangers are designed and manufactured, which are straight type, long dot type, splited wavy type and straight double side type. Heat transfer and pressure drop performance of each heat exchangers are measured in various operating conditions, and compared each other. The results show that the $(j/f)^{1/3}$ performance of splited wavy type and long dot type increases about 10.3% and 6.1% at the Reynolds number 470 compared to that of straight type, respectively. On the other hand, $(j/f)^{1/3}$ performance of straight double side type decreases 19.7%.
