  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influences of polystyrene content and St/UP on the setting shrinkage and strengths of polymer mortar with waste expanded polystyrene resin as a shrinkage-reducing agent, and to recommend the optimum binder formulations for product of low-shrinkage polymer mortar. In this paper, polymer mortar is prepared with waste expanded polystyrene content and St/UP, and tested for setting shrinkage, flexural and compressive strengths. From the test results, irrespective of increasing of waste expanded polystyrene resin, the strengths reduction of polymer mortar with waste expanded polystyrene(EPS) resin is not recognized. And the setting shrinkage is reduced with EPS resin content. The waste expanded polystyrene resin as a shrinkage-reducing agent can be used in the same manner as commercial polystyrene resin. In this study, we can obtain the optimum mix proportions of polymer mortar using EPS resin.

  • Comparing with traditional high performance concrete, ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) has the property of high-tenacity. However, drying shrinkage and autogenous shrinkage can be arisen as the major defect to UHPC. In this study, therefore, it was tested to reduce drying shrinkage and autogeneous shrinkage by adding expanding admixture (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA). As a result, for a case drying shrinkage, the shrinkage was decreased by 94% when EA was exchanged, and it was decreased by 64% when SRA was added. For the case of autogenous shrinkage, the mortar was expanded at early age and the shrinkage was decreased by 87% when EA was exchanged, and the shrinkage was decreased by 70% when SRA was added.

  • Concrete is cheap, easy to deal with, and the quality is satisfactory. Also, it is one of the easiest materials to get because chemical composition of cement is similar to chemical composition of surface. On the other hand, it is so vulnerable to transform because of weak binding capacity and low binding energy that it produces cracks. Cracks decline durability, usability, safety of structures and damage exterior. In order to decline drying shrinkage crack, this study used shrinkage reducing typed Superplasticizer, which is combination of and water-reducing agent for convenience, different with existing study using AE agent, water-reducing agent, shrinkage reducing agent,. Considering SRS field application possibility, this study planned to mix concrete and mortar generally used in ready-mixed concrete company and did basic experiment depending on a change of SRS content ratio and admixture. Based on the experiment result. It is judged that SRS admixture 2% is proper ratio when Given the intensity and length change. Also mass combination will conduct follow-up studies.

  • Ultra high strength concrete, nowadays, has been widely applied to construction of high-rise building. To improve ductility and mechanical properties, steel fiber is employed in UHSC. This study investigates practical application of expansive additives(EA) and shrinkage reducing agent(SRA), in order to secure volumetric stability and improved mechanical properties, such as autogenous shrinkage and dry shrinkage of steel-fiber-reinforced-ultra-high-strength-comet-mortar(FHSM). According to the test, individual addition of steel fiber does not affect shrinkage reduction, as expected. However FHSM, with combined addition of 5$\%$ of EA and 1$\%$ of SRA decreased 60$\%$ of autogenous shrinkage. It is considered that Proper combination of EA and SRA can secure the shrinkage resistance of FHSM.

  • The effects of polymer-binder ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the setting time and drying shrinkage of high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes are examined. As a result, the setting time of the high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes tends to delayed with increasing polymer-binder ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

  • This study is to investigate the engineering and shrinkage properties of concrete incorporating shrinkage reducing agent(SRA) and expansive additive(EA) in order to reduce shrinkage of concrete. According to results, as for the properties of fresh concrete, increase in, SRA and EA content leads to reduce the fluidity but to increase the air content, and as for setting time, there is little difference. For strength properties, it decreased with an increase in SRA dosage and increased up to 5% of EA content. For the properties of drying shrinkage, it shows decline tendency with an increase in SRA and EA content reiteratively. It alto reduces significantly with the combination of SRA-EA systems due to the combined effect of the admixture. In the scope of this paper, it is found that the use of SRA with 0.5% and EA with 5% has optimum effects on the various properties of concrete. And under the combination of SRA and EA, it can reduce drying shrinkage about 37%.

  • In this study, series of tests were performed for drying shrinkage characteristics of concrete with power type shrinkage reducing agent (SRA) and fly ash as a part of research to reduce drying shrinkage of concrete. Firstly, for the mechanical properties, a target strength was acquired securely. In the unrestraint shrinkage tests, the SRA decreased the drying shrinkage about $200{\mu}{\varepsilon}$. Lastly, in the ring tests, due to the tensile creep effect, the concrete with SRA showed the cracking times as much again as the concrete with ordinary Portland cement only did.

  • Since 3D printed concrete can be constructed without formwork, it is easy to construct an atypical structure, and the construction time and labor cost can be reduced. However, since the construction is exposed to the outside, shrinkage cracking due to moisture loss inside and outside the concrete occurs. Therefore, in order to improve the durability of the 3D printed concrete, a shrinkage reduction plan of the 3D printed concrete is required. In this study, glycol-based and alcohol-based shrinkage reducing agents were fabricated and evaluated for their performance. The shrinkage reducing agent samples showing excellent performance were selected and applied to 3D printed concrete. As a result, the compressive strength was increased by more than 10% and the shrinkage was reduced by more than 36% when using a shrinkage reducing agent. It is expected that the production of high quality 3D printed concrete will be possible because it is possible to increase the compressive strength and reduce the amount of dry shrinkage by applying a shrinkage reducing agent for 3D printed concrete.

  • In case that W/B is 20%, 30%, 40% respectively, the effects of additive and shrinkage reducing agent on the autogenous shrinkage for high strengthen concrete through the substitution of FA and SF analysis were obtained as following conclusions. When the ratio of FA increased, the compressive strength of high strengthen concrete is decreased in the early times. As the ratio of SF increase, the compressive strength also increased. Comparing with PC(Portland Cement) for 7 days curing, the strength is 13.8% of FA10 + SR0.5 and 19.2% of FA15 + SR0.5 decreased when W/B is 20%, and 6.1% of SF7.5 + SR0.5, 4.8% of SF15 + SR0.5, the strength are increased. In case that W/B is 30%, 13.1% of FA10 + SR0.5 19.1% of FA15 + SR0.5 the strength is decreased and 4.1% of SF 7.5 + SR0.5, 7.2% of SF15 + SR0.5 the strength are increased. In case of W/B 40%, 4.3% of FA10 + SR0.5, and 8.7% of FA15 + SR0.5, the strength is decreased and 3.3% of SF7.5 + SR0.5, 6.3% SF15 + SR0.5 the strength is increased. When the ratio of SR is 0.5%, autogenous shrinkage strain of OPC concrete appeared $-417{\times}10-6$ in 56days curing, the shrinkage strain is decreased 23.7%. The reducing effects of autogenous shrinkage when the mineral and shrinkage agent are used are the same as ones when only shrinkage agent used.
