  • 1. This study was conducted to examine the effects of change of the short range nozzle hole on the travelling distance. The results of this study are summarized as follows; a) Effect of change of the cap hole diameter on the travelling distance of sprayed particles was generally a linear, the increasing rate was about 0.27. b) When the difference between the sectional area of cap hole and that of grooves of swirl plate, was small the travelling distance was decreased by the decreasing of spraying speed at cap hole. 2. This study was conducted to examine the effects of change of the short range nozzle hole on the size of spraying particles. The results of this study are summarized as follows; a) The diameter of sprayed particles on travelling distances in the short range nozzle did not coincide with the kinetic energy principle derived from the momentum and the resistance. b) The average diameter of sprayed particle between 1m and 3m in which amount of sprayed particle was particularly a great deal, was big, because that some of sprayed particles were absorbed each other on the way to fall c) Effect of increase of cap hole diameter was generally enlarged the average diameter of sprayed particle with small rate.

  • Since the SRRs(Short Range Radar) load on the GVESs(Ground Vehicle Equipment System) are operated within several hundred meters, it is important to suppress the interferences between the SRRs. These interference are reduced using the frequency separation between channels, however this method isn't a perfect solution owing to a difficulty of a realization for the interference suppression. Thus, a pulse-to-pulse coding used to suppress the interference fundamentally is proposed in this paper. The concept, the application method and the test results of the proposed method have been described in this paper.

  • This paper has been studied for a comparison of the propagation and noise characteristics between ultrasonic and electromagnetic wave for the high speed communication of the short range telemetry. We analyze the propagation depth of electromagnetic and ultrasonic wave by skin depth effect and by ultrasonic loss ratio. We also studied several effects such as near field effect in electromagnetic wave and Rayleigh scattering noise of ultrasonic wave, etc. We show the experimental results of their propagation loss and modulation experiments in water. The experimental results show that both method is good for the implementation of short range telemetry.

  • A conventional wireless rf communication has relatively high ratio of power dissipation to transmit power for short-range links, susceptibility to interference, interception and jamming of electromagnetic wave. The study on alternative using ultraviolet signal to remedy the shortcomings of conventional rf communication has recently received attention. In this paper, the simulation results about the data rate performance of ultraviolet non-line-of-sight communication are provided. It is found that the direction of transmitting beam, receiving field of view width and the transmitting signal power have a seriously effect on the data rate of on-off-keying non-line-of-sight ultraviolet communication.

  • This paper proposes to increase the node energy efficiency, which rapidly drops during the transmission of L-TEEN (Layered Threshold sensitive Energy Efficient sensor Network protocol), using the method of DL-TEEN (Dual-hop Layered TEEN). By introducing dual-hop method in the data transmission, the proposed single-hop method for short-range transmission and multi-hop transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduce. By introducing a partial multi-hop method in the data transmission, a single-hop method for short range transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduces. In the proposed DL-TEEN, the energy consumption of cluster head for remote transmission reduces and increases the energy efficiency of sensor node by reducing the transmission distance and simplifying the transmission routine for short-range transmission. As compared the general L-TEEN, it was adapted to a wider sensor field.

  • This paper proposes to increase the efficiency of energy in nodes, which rapidly drops during the transmission of the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), through the use of dual-hop layered application in the sensor field. Along with introducing the dual-hop method in the data transmission, the proposed single-hop method for short-range transmission and multi-hop transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission were also introduced. Additionally, by introducing a partial multi-hop method in the data transmission, a single-hop method for short range transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was used. In the proposed DL-LEACH, the energy consumption of the cluster head for remote transmission reduced, as well as increased the energy efficiency of the sensor node by reducing the transmission distance and simplifying the transmission route for short-range transmission. As compared the general LEACH, it was adapted to a wider sensor field.

  • This paper treats performance analysis and improvement of DSRC physical layer which is discussed for standardization at the ISO TC-204 WG-15. DSRC is a short range wireless communication for which distance is less than 100m between RSU and O BE, since DSRC requires cheap and simple modulation technique, ASK is being developed as standard modulation system among PSK, FSK and ASK in our country. This paper analyzes the performance of DSRC physical layer system which is at the first stage of development under Rician fading channel, more sepcifically, the validity of the system and the performance limitations are shown. Both equalizer and antenna diversity techniques are simulated to improve the ASK system performance.

  • Recently, research and development for next-generation mobile communication and short-range wireless communication has begun worldwide along with the provision of commercial services of 5G mobile communication technology. In response to this trend, the THz band has attracted considerable attention as a frequency band for transmitting 100 Gbps of large-capacity wireless data. For communication in the THz band, research and development of approaches based on photonics and electronics is being actively performed; the configurations, characteristics, and performances of these two methods for THz transmission have been seriously examined. Among them, we reviewed the technical issues in implementing THz wireless transmission technology using photonics technology. We also introduced the Electronic and Telecommunications Research Institute's (ETRI) development of photonics-based THz short-range transmission technology starting from 2019 and including some initial results. In the near future, 100 Gbps high-capacity wireless data transmission technology utilizing photonics technology is expected to be commercially available and applied to various applications, such as 3D hologram transmission, uncompressed large capacity medical data transmission, and multiple augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR).
