Design Characteristics of Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor for Short Reciprocating Trajectory

  • Design characteristics of PMLSM(Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor) considering the dynamic running condition under the limited input voltage and current for short reciprocating trajectory are presented. Particularly, the dynamic constraints resulted from the dynamic capability of PMLSM and the required motional performance of the repeated short stroke are applied to determine the design specification of PMLSM. In addition, optimal design flow based on the dynamic constraints is specified with the design parameters, such as coil resistances, the EMF constants, inductances, pole-pitch. Furthermore, proposed methods and results are validated by the experimental ones measured with the purpose-built prototype.

  • In this study, a hydrodynamic analysis of the reciprocating compressor crankshaft considering a finite bearing modelling of the journal bearings used in small refrigeration compressors is performed. In the problem formulation of the compression mechanism dynamics, all corresponding hydrodynamic forces and moments are considered using the finite bearing analysis in order to determine the crankshaft trajectory at each step. The solution of the Reynolds' equation is determined numerically using a finite difference method and a Newton-Raphson procedure was employed in solving the dynamic equations of the crankshaft. The crankshaft orbits fur the finite bearing model and short bearing theory were used to compare the effect of the hydrodynamic farces of the journal bearings on the dynamic and lubrication characteristics of the crankshaft-journal bearing system. Results show that the finite bearing model for the journal bearings must be considered in calculating for the accurate dynamic characteristics of the reciprocating compressor crankshaft.

  • 본 논문에서는 철심형 영구자석 선형동기전동기(PMLSM, Steel-Cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor)에서 운전 특성을 고려한 설계 특성 및 전략 등에 대한 내용을 다룬다. 특히 반송장치의 운송궤적에서 요구하는 동적특성과 전동기의 동적용량(Dynamic Capability)을 고려한 동적제약조건(Dynamic Constraints) 규정을 통하여, 짧은 변위의 급가감속 왕복운전을 위한 철심형 PMLSM의 최적설계 전략을 살펴본다. 이와 더불어 동특성이 두드러진 PMLSM의 설계특성으로 열적인 특성, 디텐트력 해석 및 저감, 그리고 자계의 포화특성에 대하여 추가 고찰한다.
