We analyzed the impulse on 24 sensors location under the foot using the Parotec system for the investigation of the relationship between the shoe type and the foot pathologies. Total 7 kinds of shoes, i.e. sport shoe, high heel shoes (5cm heel, 8cm heel, 13cm heel), platform shoe, inline skate, and heelys were evaluated for 20 normal subjects. Compared with the impulse distribution of the sport shoe, greater impulses were shown at the 1$^{st}$ phalange and the 1$^{st}$ metatarsal-phalangeal head in high-heel shoes, lateral tarsal bone and medial metatarsal bone in platform shoe, medial tarsal bone in inline-skate, and medial tarsal bone and 1st phalange in heelys shoe. The result of this study is expected to provide useful information about the relationship between the shoe type and the foot pathologies.ies.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the Flex-OA shoe, a specific functional shoe, in terms of the range of motion (ROM) of hip and knee joint during walking when compared to a standardized shoe. Methods : Twenty-six healthy adults (18 males, 6 females) participated in this study. Subjects performed 8 walking trials consisting of two different shoe conditions to evaluate the hip and knee ROM using a three-dimensional motion capture system. Visual 3D motion analysis software was finally used to coordinate the kinematic data. Result : The total ROM and maximal abduction range of the hip joint in the coronal planes when wearing the Flex-OA shoe were significantly increased during walking compared to wearing a standard shoe (p<.05). On the other hand, significantly increased ROM was observed in the sagittal plane when wearing the Flex-OA shoe in the knee joints compared to a standard shoe (p<.05). Conclusion : Although clinical application of the specific functional shoe has known clearly positive effects on knee moments, the results of this study could provide important clues to explain the background of these effects in terms of the hip and knee joints when applying a specific functional shoe.
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the management environment Provincial and Municipal Professional Soccer Teams based on financial statements at a time when strengthening the financial soundness of domestic professional soccer teams is emphasized. Research design, data, and methodology: This study was sampled using convenience sampling and a total of 607 questionnaires were used. In this study, questionnaires were used as a survey tool, consisting of eight questions in a total of four areas, measuring demographic characteristics, shoe design, shoe functionality, shoe price, and promotion. Results: First, the importance of outdoor brand shoe selection attributes was high in cost-effectiveness, discount, and promotional models, while the satisfaction level was high in shoe size, content, and Model. Second, IPA analysis revealed shoe sizes, promotional models, and discount factors as maintenance and management continuation areas. Content factors have emerged as a competency-focused area. A sense of cushioning and wearing has emerged as an area of further improvement. As a status quo area, shoe laces and cost-effectiveness factors appeared. Conclusions: First, consumers considered the cost-effectiveness of choosing shoes, followed by discounts, and efforts are needed to diversify promotional content to maximize promotion for shoe sales. 3. Domestic outdoor brands are not yet satisfied with consumers.

A roughing process is one of the most important and indispensable shoe manufacturing processes of various types of shoes. This basic process to rough the upper of the shoe is studied to improve the productivity and to reduce the processing time. In this study, the CAM system for shoe roughing is developed. The B-spline surface generated by the developed CAM system ignores the small inclinations of the real roughing surface because the developed roughing tool has potential to rough the roughing surface of the shoe properly. The roughing tool roughs the roughing surface using its side along the generated tool paths. The generated NC codes were applied to 5-axis polishing machine for the test. Experimental results show good evaluation result. The upper of the shoe is roughed properly along the roughing path line and the roughing surface was good to cement the outsole of the shoe.
In this paper, we investigated the braking performance of a composite brake shoe for power car. Laboratory bench test and field tests were carried out to characterize the braking performance by the parameters such as friction coefficient, wear rate, braking temperature and stopping distance. Density distribution was found to have a significant influence on the wear rate. The composite brake shoe with even density distribution showed better braking performance. The braking performance of a composite brake shoe was also compared with that of a cast iron brake shoe which is currently being used. The result indicated the performance of the composite brake shoe is better than the cast iron brake shoe.

This study developed and evaluated a shoe cushioning system to reduce impact force patterns during running. The shoe cushioning system is composed with a poly urethane pocket, which contains water and porous grains to absorb the force against the weight inside the pocket. Load-displacement curves for the shoe cushioning system were obtained from an instrumented testing machine and the results were compared with various pockets that have air, water or grains. Mechanical testings showed that the pocket with 5 g particles was the best for the shoe cushioning system. This founding will be helpful to designing the shoe.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to investigate the characteristics of a specific functional shoe in terms of the range of motion (ROM) of ankle and foot joints during walking when compared to a standardized shoe. METHODS: Kinematic ROM data pertaining to ankle, tarsometatarsal, and metatarsophalangeal joints were collected from twenty-six healthy individuals during walking using a ten-camera motion analysis system. Kinematic ROM of each joint in three planes was obtained over ten walking trials consisting of two different shoe conditions. Visual3D motion analysis was finally used to coordinate the kinematic data. All kinematic ROM data were interpolated using a cubic spline algorithm and low-pass filtered with a cutoff frequency of 6 Hz for smoothing. RESULTS: The overall ROM of the ankle joint in the sagittal and coronal planes when wearing the specific functional shoe was significantly decreased in both ankles during walking when compared to wearing a standard shoe (p<.05). Significantly more flexibility was observed when wearing the specific functional shoe in the tarsometatarsal and metatarsophalangeal joints compared to a standard shoe (p<.05). CONCLUSION: Although clinical application of the specific functional shoe has shown clear positive effects on knee and ankle moments, the results of this study provide important background information regarding the kinematic mechanisms of these effects.
The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of two shoe size conditions on foot pressure, ground reaction force (GRF), and lower extremity muscle fatigue. Seven healthy men participated. They randomly performed walking and running in two different conditions: proper shoe size and 10 mm greater than proper shoe size. Peak foot pressure, and vertical, anterior and mediolateral force components were recorded with the Parotec system and Kisler force platform. To assess fatigue, the participants performed treadmill running for twenty-five minutes twice, each time wearing a different shoe size. Surface electromyography was used to confirm localized muscle fatigue using power spectral analysis of four muscles (tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius medialis, rectus femoris, and biceps femoris). The results were as follows: 1) In walking conditions, there was a significantly higher peak pressure in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size insole sensor 1, 2, 14, and 18 (p<.05). 2) In running conditions, there was a significantly higher peak pressure in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size insole sensor 5, 14, and 15 (p<.05). 3) In walking conditions, there was a significantly higher first maximal vertical GRF in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size (p<.05). 4) In running conditions, no GRF components were significantly different between each shoe size condition (p>.05). 5) Muscle fatigue indexes of the tibialis anterior and rectus femoris were significantly increased in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size condition. These results indicate that wearing shoes that are too large could further exacerbate the problems of increased foot pressure, vertical GRF, and muscle fatigue.
Foot has two functions : one is walking (or propulsion), the other is supporting or protecting of human body. In spite of such important roles, the importance of foot in keeping health has been easily disregarded. The bottom of foot is usually regarded as the second heart, for it is the pocket edition of all the principal parts of human body. Shoe is one of the tools to protect foot, and to wear a good shoe is the most demanded point in keeping health, Shoe can be different in kinds and shapes according to each one's usage. That is, different conditions of different people should have the different results in the material, design, last, pattern and structure in manufacturing shoe. A good shoe is absolutely a shoe with its right suitability, elasticity and adaptability. To make this healthy shoe, it is needed to design in the way of human technology, and the relative and scientific materials are basically required in manufacturing it. Recently there is an increasing demand for milti-functional shoe that can improve the efficiency of work in parallel with the maintenance of health. Accordingly this paper put its main purpose on the development of a healthy shoe based on proper and right theory and test.

Productivity of shoe industry in Korea is still more excellent then that of China or Vietnam, But manufacturing technology and productive facility are underdevelopment in comparison advanced country. CAD/CAM system development, one of the most important technology, is totally nonexistent. specially, the automatic generation function and the grading function in shoe sole modeling are dependent of the foreign software. The CAD/CAM software only for shoe modeling is very expensive, so that it is going to weaken shoe industry of Korea. Therefore, We developed 3D gauge curve generation method using 2D NURBS curve in shoe sole modeling.
