Recently, brand equity is paid much attention in various industries. However, container liner shipping companies are still unfamiliar with this concept, and also the brand equity model has not been tested yet in shipping context. This study, therefore, aims to measure the relative importance of brand equity factors of container liner shipping companies by employing AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). This study concludes that perceived quality, in particular cost-related service quality, is the most influential factor of brand equity, while weak support is found for brand association. In addition to this, group comparisons were conducted between shipping companies, freight forwarders and academics. The results will be useful as they firstly define brand equity and its role in shipping context, highlighting the significance of brand management to container liner shipping firms. This evaluation is not an end in itself, but will eventually be utilised as a tool to build competitive advantage which cannot be easily imitated by competitors.

Purpose - Conventional supply chains (SCs) must identify facilitating roles, such as port or terminal operators, shipping companies, and freight forwarders in executing the various logistical activities that support the organizational strategies of shippers. Meanwhile, supply chain collaborative practices can engender a willingness to share relevant and mutually helpful information. To this end, this study seeks to identify the impact of supply chain integration (SCI) on information sharing (IS) and the operational performance (OP) of Korea's container-shipping industry from the perspective of social capital. Design/methodology - We established the research model for this study based on previous studies. In administering the survey, we obtained 149 valid responses from employees working in liner-shipping companies and freight forwarders in Korea. With the collected questionnaires, the study's hypotheses were tested using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 Findings - The results indicate the existence of a mediated relationship where the impact of SCI on OP is mediated by IS. The effect of external integration (EI) on OP is fully mediated by information quality (IQ) and information-sharing content (ISC). Furthermore, EI, IQ and ISC partially mediate the relationship between internal integration (II) and OP. Originality/value - This study expands SCI contexts, where ISC and IQ respectively serve as bridges between EI and OP which has crucial implications for container-shipping companies in terms of improving their performance.

해운 물류에서 대량의 컨테이너는 선박, 트럭, 철도 등 복합 운송의 형태로 항만을 거쳐 목적지로 이동된다. 선사, 화주와 같은 물류 주체는 화물의 주요 물류 거점에 대한 실시간 반 출입 정보를 필요로 한다. 특히 항만은 해운과 내륙을 연결하는 중요한 공간으로써 물류 주체의 관심이 높다. 본 논문에서는 GPS를 이용한 위치 추적을 점 단위가 아닌 면 단위를 기반으로 동적으로 나타낸다. 즉 어느 항만의 영역 안으로 들어가는지, 나가는지, 또는 통과하는지와 같은 동적인 위치 추적을 나타내고 있다. 이전 연구의 위치 추적 알고리즘을 기반으로 능동형(Active) IP-RFID 기술을 활용한 항만 진출입, 항만 내부에서의 실시간 위치 추적 알고리즘을 제안한다.

본 연구의 목적은 시뮬레이션을 통하여 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 ATC에 의한 이적작업의 효과를 분석하는 것이다. 자동화 컨테이너터미널은 수직배치의 장치장 형태이며 한 블록에서 반입, 반출, 양하, 적하의 네가지 작업이 발생하게 되므로 운영측면에서 장치장 할당이 매우 중요한 문제이다. 그러므로 효율적인 장치장 운영을 위해서 ATC에 의한 한 블록내에서의 이적작업이 반드시 필요하다. 시뮬레이션 실험을 통하여 이적작업의 효율성을 분석하고 장치장 할당에 관한 방법을 제시한다.

지속적인 컨테이너 물동량의 증가와 컨테이너선의 대형화에 따라서 항만간의 경쟁은 점점 치열해지고 있다. 주요 항만 하역장비 제조사들은 획기적인 생산성 향상을 제공할 수 있는 새로운 개념의 하역장비 개발에 많은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 항만의 대표적 하역장비인 컨테이너 크레인에 대해서 다양한 개발 대안들이 존재할 때, 최적의 개발 대안을 선정하는 절차를 제시한다. 절차는 두 단계로 구성되는데, 첫 번째 단계에서는 요구되는 필수요소들을 만족하지 못하는 대안을 제거하고 두 번째 단계에서는 전문가의 평가와 선형 할당법을 적용하여 최종적인 개발 대안을 선정한다. 마지막으로, 제시한 절차를 적용한 사례를 제시한다.

본 연구의 목적은 HSS 장치시스템에 대한 2가지 블록배치안(수평, 수직방향)의 효율성을 평가하는 것이다 수평배치형은 터미널의 선석방향과 평행하게 장치블록을 배열하는 형태이며, 수직배치형은 선석방향과 직교되게 블록을 배치하는 설계형태를 말한다. 이러한 장치장의 블록배치형태에 따라 야드시스템과 이송시스템의 하역성능이 달라지기 때문에 효율적인 설계가 요구된다고 할 수 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 HSS 장치시스템의 2가지의 블록배치안에 대해 장치용량, 생산성, 시설투자, 반출입 외부트럭의 서비스면에서 그 효율성을 상호 비교해 보았다.

본 연구에서는 컨테이너 터미널의 물류역량이 서비스 품질과 고객반응에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악하여 향후 컨테이너 터미널의 마케팅 전략 수립에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 표본설계는 한국선주협회, 한국선박관리업협회에 등록된 선사 중 부산항 컨테이너 터미널을 이용하고 있는 선사별로 2011년 12월 5일부터 23일까지 5~8부의 설문지를 직접방문을 통하여 배포하고 회수된 설문지 243부를 분석하였다. 실증분석 결과 서비스 품질과 고객반응에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 물류역량 요인 중 관리역량이 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 고객반응에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 서비스품질 요인 중 공감성이 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 컨테이너 터미널에서는 적/양하를 계획할 때 고객의 요구사항을 정확히 파악하여 이를 적극적으로 반영하고 고객에게 최상의 서비스를 제공하여야 할 것이다.

항만물류산업은 교역과 부가가치 창출, 높은 경제적 효과를 지닌 중요한 산업으로 그 영역이 점차 확대되고 있다. 항만물류산업의 효율화는 국가 경쟁력을 증대할 수 있는 방안 중 하나이며, 다수의 선행연구에서 그 영향에 대해 연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구에서 산업 분류의 기준이 되는 한국표준산업분류의 9차 개정을 활용하고, 2010년 최초 시행된 경제총조사 자료를 활용하여 울산지역을 대상으로 항만물류산업이 지역경제에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 우리나라 5대 항만도시간 항만물류산업을 비교하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째 2010년 기준 직접 항만물류산업은 종사자(11.7%)와 매출액(13.1%)에서 높은 비중을 보였으며, 지역 내 높은 고용과 경제적 영향이 있음을 나타냈다. 둘째, 5대 항만도시의 2007~2011년 기준 항만물류산업간 비교에서 광양(5.72%)과 울산(4.23%)은 전국평균(1.74%)보다 높은 사업체수의 연평균 증가와, 직접 항만물류산업의 종사자에서 울산(23.82%), 평택(25.74%)은 높은 연평균 증가를 나타냈다.

The demands of complicated data communications have issued a new challenge to port logistics systems. Customers expect ports to handle their generated administrative data while a vessel is docked in a port. One port logistics system, known as the Vessel Clearance Process (VCP), manages large numbers of documents related to port of entry. In the VCP, information flows through many organizations such as the port authority, shipping agents, marine offices, immigration offices, and others. Therefore, for effective management of the Business Process (BP) of the VCP, a standardized method of BP modeling is essential, especially in heterogeneous system environments. In a port, according to port policy, terms and data are sued that are similar to but different from those of other logistics partners, which hinders standardized modeling of the BP. In order to avoid tedious and time-consuming document customization work, more convenient modeling of BP for VCP is essential. This paper proposes an ontology-based process similarity measurement to assist designer for process modeling in port domain, especially VCP. We expect that this methodology will use convenient and quick modeling of port business processes.

본 연구는 남해안지역 진출을 위한 거점항만으로서의 마산항이 경제의 중추적 역할을 담당하기 위해 마산지역항의 해양 정보통신기술의 활용방안을 위한 연구로 기존의 마산항만의 현황과 적용중인 ICT를 바탕으로 중장기적으로 추구해야 할 해양 정보화 기술의 활용에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다.
