Under the competitive environment of shipping industry, the improvement of the quality of shipping service could be one of the most important factors to be considered in the recent shipping industry. However, there has been little study on the clear concept of the service quality in the shipping so far. The subject of this study is to define the concept of the service quality in the shipping by way of making investigation into the related precedent literatures studied. The quality of service is recognized in general as a degree of gap between the customer's expectation and the perception. Therefore the service quality of shipping could be measured by evaluating the gaps between shipper's expectation and performance of shipping service. If the determinants of the service quality in the shipping are proved, and the discrepancies of expectations and perception between the shipping company and the shipper could be clarified, such a result would be an useful help to establish marketing strategy.

Shipping companies are key components of the logistics industry, which is extremely significant in enhancing the country's comprehensive national power and promoting global trade development. In the context of the implementation of the new development pattern strategy in China and the impact of the global novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this paper takes 22 Chinese shipping listed companies as the research object and analyses the operational efficiency of them from 2011 to 2020 based on the Super-SBM DEA Model and Window DEA Model. Factors affecting the efficiency are further analyzed with the Tobit model. The research conclude that the operational efficiency of Chinese shipping companies as a whole shows a steady increase from 2011 to 2020. Although most of them are in a relatively ef ective operation state, fewer are absolutely effective companies. Besides efficiency among companies differs obviously, which indicates the potential of further improvement and promotion. What's more, factors such as current economic development level, enterprise size, human resources quality and enterprise turnover speed have significant positive correlation to the operation efficiency of Chinese shipping listed companies, which is significant to improve the operation efficiency of Chinese shipping companies.

오늘날처럼 경쟁이 치열한 글로벌 해운시장 환경에 대한 외항선사의 대응능력은 기업성장과 물동량 창출에 매우 중요하다. 이러한 측면에서 본 연구는 우리나라 외항선사이 직면하고 있는 해운환경의 특성을 규명하고 이러한 환경 대응능력과 전략실행프로세스 및 경영성과와의 관계를 규명하여 외항선사의 경쟁력을 결정하게 되는 핵심요인이 환경대응력에 의해서만 결정되는 것이 아니고, 전략실행을 위한 내부프로세스와의 상호작용에 의해서도 달라진다는 것을 실증적으로 제시하였다. 이는 외항선사의 환경대응과 전략실행 및 경영성과의 관계를 종합적으로 검증한 것으로 해운환경변화에의 대응능력 향상과 적절한 전략수행의 유인을 통해 외항선사의 경쟁력 강화에 공헌할 수 있다는 데에 연구의 가치가 있다고 본다.

이 연구의 목적은 첫째, 항만국 통제의 의의 및 시행배경과 이론을 고찰하고, 둘째, 항만국 통제와 관련된 국제협약관계를 고찰하며, 셋째, 항만국 통제에 대한 국제비교와 우리나라 해운기업의 사례를 분석하며, 마지막으로 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 항만국 통제에 대한 우리나라 해운기업의 대응방안을 제시하는데 있다.

A recent trend of global shipping industry adopting Port State Control (PSC) system is recognized as a proficient mechanism in preventing costal traffic accident and protecting marine environment. Disadvantages of Korean shipping companies in PSC inspection are unavoidable as Tokyo MOU imposed priority listed flag to Korea. Having stated above, appropriate research and prompt preparation in compliance with current PSC requirements for the Korean shipping companies have become an immediate need. The objectives of this study are : First, to review in understanding of PSC in overall and foundation of enforcement. Second. to study interaction of international treaties regarding PSC. Third, to compare practical compliance among the countries and to open up a case study on Korean shipping companies in adopting PSC. Last, to suggest direction to the Korean shipping companies the most proficient way in compliance with the current Tokyo MOU requirement. Korean flagged vessels have become prioritized target in PSC inspection as Tokyo MOU imposed priority listed flag to Korea due to high detention rate of its fleet. Disadvantage of a priority listed flag is a burden in its proficient fleet operation. This study suggests solutions to the disadvantages as below. : 1) Change shore management system, and provide continuous & quality education to crew members 2) Form a network in sharing PSC information among the Korean shipping companies 3) Form a centralized function in which government, Korean Shipping register and shipowners can treat problems in a prompt manner.

Online exchange is a cost-effective approach to trade goods and information among multiple sellers and buyers. Shipping industry includes lots of global entities such as shippers, liners, ship owners and shipping agents. Marine insurance companies and ship repairers and many other groups are also supporting the industry. However, international shipping exchanges are located on few cities in the world. Its our motivation that a shipping market can be online so that market participants do the dealing while sitting where they are with more efficient manner, preferable price and larger pool of candidates of trading partners. This paper presents Korean governmental project of building a cyber shipping exchange. The exchange covers ship sale and purchase, charter, insurance, freight futures, repairs, supplying of ships oil and database service. The workflows of each business were analyzed and designed to fit for online environment. The project includes design of trading mechanism, online documents, data flow, data storage and security. Online match making and trading mechanisms such as auction, reverse auction, bid are used. The whole trading process involves multiple organizations and business processes. So, this Paper focuses on how each organization would play their roles so that users can complete transactions with integrated and transparent view. The online exchange selves also as maritime portal site that links to other sites for cooperation vertically or horizontally, and serves database and information in global perspective. Shipping industry continues to face dramatic changes in its environment ranging from development in containerization, computerization and telecommunications to the emergence of global marketplace. Perhaps the most significant trend - representing both a threat and opportunity - is the increasingly competitive nature of shipping service market. In order for the shipping companies to cope with those improvements and challenges, they should analyze and clarify customer's DM(decision making) process for the purchase of container shipping service. The major research findings from the study were found as follows; 1) The degree of shipper's involvement in purchasing shipping services was found to be a discriminating variable affecting the information sources consisting of personal and non-personal information sources. 2) The positive relationship was found between the experiences on shipping services and non-personal information sources. 3) It was observed that as people had more experience searching for information, the more in depth their searches became. 4) There existed a positive relationship between knowledges on shipping services and information search. 5) According to the SEM analysis, the shipper's information search on shipping services was also found to have a great influence on the shipper's purchasing behavior. The shipper's search was resulted in positive customer satisfaction.

Drop-shipping is a commonly adopted online-order fulfillment strategy in the Internet age. In this practice, online retailers leverage the fulfillment capabilities of suppliers to fulfill orders. On the other hand, purchase dependence is a frequent phenomenon and is characterized by the purchase of certain items together due to their unknown interior associations. Although this concept has been significantly examined in the marketing field (e.g. market basket analysis), it has largely remained unaddressed in operations management. This paper develops an (R, T) model to address an environment in which unmet demand orders are partially lost and partially backordered when purchase dependence exists. The partial backorders are fulfilled by a drop-shipping option. Through computational analyses, this paper demonstrates the effect of both drop shipping on a partial backordering and purchase dependence. The results shows that more profit can be realized by utilizing a drop-shipping option under purchase dependence.

The one-year onboard training, which has been implemented since 1988 according to the STCW Convention in 1978, is a crucial part of cadets' training and education. The choice of training shipping company is important that like a internship. This basic study is for the satisfaction at the shipping companies that trains cadets the Mokpo National Maritime University. The satisfaction for onboard training consists of a conscious, educational and environmental parts with six demographic characteristics and carried out the questionnaire survey of 206 cadets in shipping companies. The low parts of satisfaction are implemented cross tabulation analysis and in-depth interview for realize the reason. In this paper, the satisfaction from environmental part($3.83{\pm}0.75$) is high but conscious part($3.35{\pm}0.86$) and educational part($3.33{\pm}0.79$) are low. In demographic characteristics, male in gender, apprentice officer in duty, others in kind of crew, container in kind of vessel and 30,000~100,000 tons in size of vessel are high satisfaction in general. Specifically, feeding service($4.02{\pm}0.75$) in environment, influence on future vision($3.65{\pm}0.84$) in consciousness, goal for training($3.50{\pm}0.65$) in education showed the highest level in satisfaction.

해양환경은 세계화에 따른 해상운송에 대한 수요 증가로 그 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있으며, 이에 따라 선진 항만에서는 해양환경보호를 위한 그린포트 수립에 대하여 노력하고 있다. 컨테이너 물동량 처리 기준으로 전 세계 5위의 항만 위상을 가진 대한민국 항만에서도 그린포트 수립을 위하여 노력하고 있으나, 대부분의 노력이 재생에너지 발전, AMP 설치, 항만시설의 연료전환과 같은 하드웨어 측면에 집중되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 항만운영과 같은 소프트웨어 측면에서의 그린포트 구축 방안을 모색하기 위하여 친환경 선박 평가 제도를 개발 적용하고 이를 통하여 대한민국 항만의 그린포트 구축 노력의 다각화를 모색하고 국내 항만의 글로벌 녹색경쟁력을 제고할 수 있는 대책을 제시하고자 한다.
