해난구조에 있어서 전문잠수인력 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of salvage Divers)

  • The amount of Sea Casualty is increased by heavy sea traffic, increasing sea-borne cargoes, and superannuated vessels. This study analyzed the circumstance of ship salvage in Korean Salvage Units and management of Salvage Divers in Korea and other countries in order to make establishment of Ship Salvage Divers. This paper reputed the object, the necessity and the character of Ship Salvage Divers. For the purpose of study two parts are considered in order to analyze the environment of salvage divers(the circumstance of Sea Casulties and Ship Salvage). Under the present circumstance in Korea this development planning study may be restricted, but the effective planning to activate Korean Ship Salvage Diver is abstracted as follows; First, the political assistance of concerned government authority is needed. Second, establishment of new course, grade, certificate and licence for Salvage Diver is a Pre-requisite factor for the successful enactment. Third, establishment of Korean Ship Salvage Diving Center or School is strongly required.

  • The introduction of invasive marine species into new environments by ship's ballast water, attached to ships' hulls and via other vectors has been identified as one of the four greatest threats to the world's oceans by Global Environment Facility (GEF). EMO (International Maritime Organization) is carrying out the international restriction of the effluence suppression and treatment of Ship's ballast water by Ballast Water Management Convention. In this paper, to deal with this international restriction convention and to consider economic potential of ship's ballaster treatment market near future, the equipment and technology of ship's ballaster water treatment was studied.

An Empirical Analysis for Determinants of Secondhand Ship Prices of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers

  • The aim of this study was to examine determinants of secondhand Bulk carrier and Oil tanker prices. This study compiled S& P transaction data taken from the Clarksons Research during J anuary 2018 to April 2022 to see how independent variables influenced secondhand ship prices. In the secondhand ship pricing model of entire segments, size, age, and LIBOR showed significant effects on prices. A vessel built in J apan and Korea was traded at a higher price than a vessel built in other countries. In the bulk segment, size, age, Clarksea index, LIBOR, and inflation were meaningful variables. In the Tanker segment, unlike Bulk carrier, only size and age were useful variables. This study performed regression analyses for various sizes of Bulk carriers and Oil tankers. It verified that impacts of variables other than ship size and age were significantly associated with ship type and size while macroeconomic variables had no influence except for bulk carriers. By applying diverse variables affecting secondhand ship price estimation according to various sizes of Bulk carriers and Oil tankers, this study will expand the scope of practical application for investors. It also reaffirms prior research findings that the secondhand ship market is primarily market-driven.

동북아 역내의 지속가능한 선박해체에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Ship Recycling in Northeast Asia for Sustainable Future)

  • The ship recycling or scrap is a phenomenon in the process of vessels life cycle has ended in the shipping industry. Scrap are greatly affected by freight rates due to ship demands. Not only that, environmental regulation and economic scale vessel demand are processes that must exist in the shipping industry as they obtain management for existing vessels. In the past, shipbreaking yard had tried to work without protection for poverty, without poor working conditions and facilities to prevent the emission of harmful substances. However, the issue of environmental pollution has been raised the Basel and Hong Kong Convention have been adopted, and a new replacement of the ship scrap that induces serious pollution is required. In this study, 165 countries were analyzed to confirm the importance of determining the ship solution. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the Environmental Performance Index, which is a measure of environmental regulation, is the most influential factor of ship scrapped volume. The determinant of whether lower labor cost can be secured is more correlated with population than GDP per capita. The implications of the results of the regression analysis mean that if environmental regulations for ship scrap of the future are strengthened, the status of Bangladesh and Pakistan, which currently account for half of the world's ship recycling, may change.

개별 부하 시스템의 에너지 절감을 포함한 선박 전력 에너지 관리 시스템 개발 (Development of Power Energy Management System for Ships including Energy Saving of Separated Load Systems)

  • 최근 4차 혁명과 연계하여 많은 선박 분야의 연구들이 수행되고 있으며, 그 중 하나로 에너지 관리시스템 (EMS: Energy Management System)이 관심을 받고 있다. 에너지 관리시스템은 선박의 에너지를 관리하기 위한 시스템을 통칭하며, 다양한 시스템을 포함한다. 본 논문에서는 선박에서의 에너지 절감 분야를 분석하고, 기관실에서 에너지 절감이 가능한 개별 부하 제어 시스템을 포함한 선박 전력 에너지 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 EMS는 PCS (Pump Control System), ERFCS (Engine Room Fan Control System), LCS (Load Control System), HVACS (Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning Control System)의 개별 부하 제어 시스템을 포함한다. 1차적으로, 제안하는 EMS는 기관실의 개별적인 부하 시스템에서 에너지를 절감한다. 2차적으로는 통합 모니터링 및 제어 시스템을 통해 발전 시스템과 전력 부하 시스템을 적절히 제어하여 에너지를 절감한다.

선박용 에너지 관리 시스템 알고리즘 검증을 위한 신호 연동 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of signal linkage simulator for verification of Ships energy management system algorithm)

  • 전 세계적으로 선박의 배출물에 의한 환경 오염에 관심이 증가하여, 에너지 효율을 높여 선박 배출물 감소와 연료 소비 효율을 높이는 시스템 개발에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 각 시스템은 소형 선박에서는 실증될 수 있으나, 대형 선박의 경우에는 실증에 대한 여건이 마땅치 않다. 현실적으로 대형 선박에 real time으로 구동되는 에너지 관리 시스템 제어기를 테스트하기 위해서는 시뮬레이터를 통한 테스트를 수행해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 각 제어 시스템과 에너지 관리 시스템을 연동할 수 있도록 각 신호를 Modbus TCP/IP에 맞게 주소를 설정하였으며, 신호의 흐름에 따라 알고리즘을 구성하였다. 또한, 각 제어기가 선박에서 수집하는 신호를 인위적으로 발생시킬 수 있도록 신호 발생기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 시뮬레이터 제작 및 연동 결과 real time으로 운용되는 각 제어기는 역할을 알맞게 수행하였으며, 선박용 에너지 관리 시스템의 알고리즘의 적용이 적절히 수행됨을 확인하였다.

여객선 세월호의 전복 요인 분석 (Analysis the factors on the capsize of passenger vessel Sewol)

  • A historical tragic disaster happened by capsizing the passenger ship Sewol at South Western Sea of Korea in 16, April 2014. The ship which left Incheon harbour to bound for Jeju port passed Maengol strait and reached to approach of Byung Pung island, and then capsized and sank with a sudden inclination to the portside in the mean time of starboard the helm. In this time, the ship which has very poor stability without sufficient ballast waters and with over loading cargo listed port side caused by the centrifugal force acting to the outside of turning. A lot of cargoes not fastened moved to the port side consequently, and the ship came to beam end to capsize and sank in the end. No crews including especially captain would offer their own duties in a such extremely urgent time, as a result, enormous number of victims broke out including a lot of student. In this report, author carried out some calculation on the factors which influenced on the stability of the ship, i.e. the ship's speed, the rudder angle, the weight of cargoes and distance of movement, the surface effect of liquid in the tank. We found out that the most causes of capsize were the poor stability with heavy cargoes and insufficient amount of ballast water against the rule, and the cargoes unfastened moved one side to add the inclination as well. Above all, the owner be blamable because of the illegally operating the ship without keeping the rule.

함정적외선신호 관리를 위한 확률론적 방법의 가능성 연구 (A Feasibility Study on the Probabilistic Method for the Naval Ship Infra-red Signature Management)

  • It is essential to reduce the Infra-red signature for increasing ship's survivability in ship design stage. However the ship's IR signature is quite sensitive to the maritime and atmosphere. Therefore, it is very important to select the marine meteorological data to be applied to the signature analysis. In this study, we selected the three meteorological sample sets from the population of the Korea Meteorological Administration's marine environment data in 2017. These samples were selected through the two-dimensional stratified sampling method, taking into account the geopolitical threats of the Korean peninsula and the effective area of the buoy. These sample sets were applied to three naval ships classified by their tonnage, and then the IR signature analysis was performed to derive the Contrast Radiant Intensity (CRI) values. Based on the CRI values, the validity of each sample set was determined by comparing Cumulative Distribution Function (CDF), and Probability Density Function (PDF). Also, we checked the degree of scattering in each sample set and determined the efficiency of analysis time and cost according to marine meteorological sample sets to confirm the possibility of a probabilistic method. Through this process, we selected the standard for optimization of marine meteorological sample for ship IR signature analysis. Based on this optimization sample, by applying probabilistic method to the management of IR signature for naval ships, the robust design is possible.

윤리적 풍토가 윤리적 리더십, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effects of Ethical Work Climates on Ethical leader ship and Organizational Citizenship Behavior)

  • 본 연구는 윤리적 리더십이 중요해 짐에 따라 윤리적 리더십에 영향을 주는 윤리풍토와 윤리적 리더십에 따른 조직시민행동에 대한 연구이다. 이를 연구함으로써 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향인 이타주의, 양심적 행동, 스포츠맨십에 대해 영향을 미치는 요인을 찾아 조직시민행동을 촉진 할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 윤리적 풍토는 이기주의, 원칙주의, 공리주의로 구분하였고, 윤리적 리더십은 분배적 공정성, 절차적 공정성, 투명성, 공헌성, 정직성으로 구분하였고, 조직시민행동은 이타주의, 양심적 행동, 스포츠맨십으로 구분하였다. 연구결과 윤리풍토와 윤리적 리더십에 대한 영향관계를 살펴본 결과 공리주의는 분배적 공정성, 투명성 영향을 주었고, 원칙주의, 공리주의는 절차적 공정성, 공헌성, 정직성에 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 윤리적 리더십과 조직시민행동에 대한 영향관계를 살펴본 결과 투명성은 이타주의와 양심적 행동에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있는데, 투명성은 이타주의에 부(-)의 영향을, 양심적 행동에는 정(+)의 영향을 주었고, 정직성이 스포츠맨십에 대한 영향도 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것을 알 수 있다.

수리모형을 이용한 선박 항해기기 패널의 인간공학적 배치 (The Ergonomic Layout of Ship's Bridge Panels using the Mathematical Programming)

  • When designing a ship, ergonomic considerations are crucial when minimizing a navigator's fatigue due to the burden of work, and to appropriately operate the navigational equipment for each given situation by helping the operator to understand the surroundings as well as the physical functions of the ship. However, insufficient consideration of ergonomic elements in the actual design of ship Bridges is lowering the performance of safe navigation and allows for the possibility of operation or readout errors. Consequently, these errors lead to an increase in maritime accidents. Therefore, this study conducted a usability evaluation on the importance of and the usage frequency of navigational equipment, their influence on actual navigation, and the possibility of error upon operation or readout between training ship officers, to derive an optimized layout that includes the consideration of ergonomic factors for on-Bridge navigational equipment, which are currently arranged differently according to their type or size. The optimized layout of on-Bridge navigational equipment was carried out based on the evaluation results, using the Lingo program. Through the process of optimization, revised layouts of on-Bridge navigational equipments(control and display device) were suggested, considering emergency situations(ship collision, stranding, fire and explosion, sinking, etc.) during navigation.
