An accurate evaluation of three-dimensional (3D) Time-Domain Green Function (TDGF) in infinite water depth is essential for ship's hydrodynamic analysis. Various numerical algorithms based on the TDGF properties are considered, including the ascending series expansion at small time parameter, the asymptotic expansion at large time parameter and the Taylor series expansion combines with ordinary differential equation for the time domain analysis. An efficient method (referred as "Present Method") for a better accuracy evaluation of TDGF has been proposed. The numerical results generated from precise integration method and analytical solution of Shan et al. (2019) revealed that the "Present method" provides a better solution in the computational domain. The comparison of the heave hydrodynamic coefficients in solving the radiation problem of a hemisphere at zero speed between the "Present method" and the analytical solutions proposed by Hulme (1982) showed that the difference of result is small, less than 3%.
진단제도에서는 점용 용역을 8L(장직경)X3.2L(단직경)을 사용하고 있다.
The effects of the combination of blade number for forward and after propeller on the propeller shaft forces of a contra-rotating propeller (CRP) system are presented in the paper. The research is performed through the numerical simulations based on the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations (RANS). The simulation results of the present method in open water condition are validated comparing with the experimental data as well as the other numerical simulation results based on the potential method for 4-0-4 CRP (3686+3687A) and 4-0-5 CRP (3686+3849) of DTNSRDC. Two sets of CRP are designed and simulated to study the effect of the combination of blade number in behind-hull condition. One set consists of 3-blade and 4-blade, while the other is 4-blade and 4-blade. A full hull body submerged under the free surface is modeled in the computational domain to simulate directly the wake field of the ship at the propeller plane. From the simulation results, the fluctuations of axial force and moment are dominant in the case of same blade numbers for forward and after propellers, whereas the fluctuations of horizontal and vertical forces and moments are very large in the case of different blade numbers.
This paper describes the time-domain numerical method for prediction of slamming loads on a ship in waves using the strip theory. The slamming loads was calculated considering the relative vertical velocity between the instantaneous ship motion and wave elevation. For applying the slamming force on a ship section, the momentum slamming theory and the empirical formula-based bottom slamming force were used corresponding to the vertical location of wetted body surface. Using the developed method, the vertical bending moments, relative vertical velocities, and impact forces of S175 containership were compared in the time series for various section locations and wave conditions.
The research to predict the resistance performance of the ship using the CFD analysis is increasing. For the CFD numerical analysis the computational mesh, which is proper to computational model, has to be made before the analysis is begun. In the parametric study, even though the deformation of each case is not very sharp, the whole computational mesh should be regenerated according to the conventional way. Hence, lots of effort is needed to repeated mesh generation work. To solve these problems, the automatic mesh generation method using the macro function of commercial CAD program and mesh generation program is introduced in this study. First, in the CAD program, by using the macro function and putting the deformation rate of bow and stern in lengthwise, the repeated modeling work is performed automatically. Next, the generated geometries are read by the mesh generation program and the proper mesh for the geometry is created automatically also using the macro function. The hybrid mesh which has unstructured grid near the bow and stern and structured grid in the remaining part of domain is used. The verification of the developed method is done by applying the method to predict the resistance performance of the podded propulsion cruise ship of the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in the cases of different length of bow and stern and pod set in different position. The author believes that the introduced method can help to make the database to optimize the resistance performance of the ship in various cases can be constructed without difficulty.
The anchor is laid on seabed and the main engine is worked to against incident environmental loads in typoon. As the main engine is broken down in the storm, the anchor chain is cutted and the vessel is drifted. Although a ship is moored by two point mooring lines to keep the her position, a ship is crashed into a rock because of typoon and the accident of oil spilling may be occured. In this paper, we studied the position-keeping of a ship which is analyized based on the slow motion maneuvering equations considering wave, current and wind. The direct integration method is employed to estimate wave loads. The current forces are calculated by using mathematical of MMG. The two point mooring forces are quasisatatically evaluated by using the catenary equation. The coefficeints of wind forces are modeled from Isherwood’s emperical data and the variation of wind speed is estimated by wind spectrum. The nonlinear motions of a two point moored ship are simulated considering wave, current, wind load in time domain.

Simulations of cavitation flow and hull pressure fluctuation for a marine propeller operating behind a hull using the unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations (RANS) are presented. A full hull body submerged under the free surface is modeled in the computational domain to simulate directly the wake field of the ship at the propeller plane. Simulations are performed in design and ballast draught conditions to study the effect of cavitation number. And two propellers with slightly different geometry are simulated to validate the detectability of the numerical simulation. All simulations are performed using a commercial CFD software FLUENT. Cavitation patterns of the simulations show good agreement with the experimental results carried out in Samsung CAvitation Tunnel (SCAT). The simulation results for the hull pressure fluctuation induced by a propeller are also compared with the experimental results showing good agreement in the tendency and amplitude, especially, for the first blade frequency.
