  • This paper presents the development method of educational simulator for Power System Analysis. The developed simulator can be made the students to model, analysis of power systems by drawing the system and performing the load flow, fault analysis by themselves under window environment. The simulator has developed by using the language based on XML(extensible Markup Language). Therefore, we determine that this simulator is useful to educate the load flow and fault analysis.

  • This study investigated the effects of different kinds of seed crystals with miscut angles and pretreatment on the characteristics of a RE-123 superconductor processed by a top-seeded melt-growth (TSMG) method. When the seed crystal was heat-treated in an oxygen atmosphere, the surface structure was cleaned removing hydroxide. When the seed crystal had a miscut angle, in addition, the surface structure showed a well defined hill-and-valley structure after heat-treatment. A better microstructure, with a well-distributed small RE-123 phase, was obtained using a high miscut angle after heat-treatment in an oxygen atmosphere. As a result of the microstructure improvement, the magnetic characteristics also improved. The experimental result can be explained by reduction of nucleation activation energy.

  • For a similar price signal to local consumer, a regional clustering is important that can transfer a equal sign to the bus which has each different price on the basis of bus. If you take LMP and local information this method into consideration at the same time, and you give weight on neither one side, buses on a borderline can move on arbitrary. For solving this problem, in this paper will propose a clustering method to have applied new concept called 'electric distance'.

  • 인간시각체계의 특성을 이용하여 시각적으로 좋은 화질을 얻으면서도 효율적인 저 전송률의 웨이블릿 영상부호화를 실현하였다. MTF 함수를 이용하여 공간주파수 영역에서의 주파수 변화에 따른 콘트라스트의 민감도의 변화를 보상하였고, 공간 방향성에 대응하는 변수들을 추정하기 위하여 공간이방특성을 갖는 필터를 설계하였다. 이에 의하여 인간시각체계와 유사한 구조인 웨이블릿 변환영역에 적용할 수 있는 가중치를 도출하는 알고리즘을 개발하여 웨이블릿 변환 부호화에 적응하였다.

  • This paper presents a new numerical algorithm devoted to one window onto fault location calculation in time domain. It is based on two terminal data processing and it is derived on the synchronized phasor measured from the GPS connected the trans-mission line. The data is obtained by the testing through EMTP (Electromagnetic Tran- sient Program). The proposed the algorithm is estimated using linear least error squares method. The results of the algorithm testing through computer simulation (MATLAB) are presented.

  • This paper presents a two-terminal approach for fault location estimation and for faults recognition. The proposed algorithm is also based on the synchronized phasors measured from the synchronized PMUs installed at two-terminals of the transmission lines. Also the arc voltage wave shape is modeled numerically on the basis of a great number of arc voltage records obtained by transient recorder. From the calculated arc voltage amplitude it can make a decision whether the permanent or transient fault. The results of the proposed algorithm testing through computer simulation are given.

  • This paper presents an improved two-terminal technique for fault location estimation.   • This paper discusses an economic study analysis of captive power plant as a commercial plant in the cost based pool market. In this paper I assumed the conversion of a captive power plant owned by factories to a commercial plant and investigated the changes in profitability associated with this. I set the total electricity expense of a captive purpose plant as state A and the costs associated with converting to a commercial purpose plant as state B. Each state subdivided by case which is classified its plant variable cost, type of generation (combined cycle, single cycle) and type of power contract received. After set model for each case, different economic benefits by each case can be calculated.

  • A method for image compression based on decomposition is presented. We design the efficient coding technique for upper band image signals. This coding technique with directive 1-D DPCM is based on the statistical properties of upper bands. Lower band image signals is encoded using 2-D DPCM. The directive 1-D DPCM is performed, scanning upper bands according to edge direction. And then the predicted error signals of upper band sis coded using B1 and Huffman code, and the predicted error signals of lower band is coded using Huffman code. The proposed system shows improved performance when compared with other existing methods with respect to peak signal to noise ratio(PSMR) and human visual system(HVS) properties.

  • An integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometer for biosensor applications was designed and fabricated. To implement the optimum biosensor a rib waveguide must have single mode operation and high sensitivity. The proposed Mach-Zehnder interferometer was fabricated based on these design rules, and its feasibility is confirmed by ethanol detection experiment in the real-time measurement system operating at 632.8 nm.
