주문헝제품의 생산을 위한 집합화 알고리즘의 개발 (Grouping Algorithm for Custom-tailored Products)

  • Custom-tailored products always vary their sizes and shapes to satisfy the customers' tastes and requirements but they have to be fabricated as fast as possible when ordered. One way to solve this problem is to prepare several representative products in advance and each custom-tailored product is generated by machining the closest representative product. To realize this approach, it would be necessary to be able to group the products into several groups each of which has a representative product. Once the similar products are identified to be grouped, the representative shape can be generated such that all the products in the group can be made by machining the representative product. The custom-tailored products considered in this work have similar shapes but different sizes. Since these products have free surfaces, that are hard to be compared, their convex hulls are used for the grouping. Among all the products to be grouped, one product is chosen as a base shape. The shape and overall similarity values between the base shape and the remaining shapes are calculated as their convex hulls are rotated virtually. By calculating these similarity values at each rotation, the optimal alignment of the reference shape with respect to the base shape is determined. Overall similarity value at this optimal alignment is used as a measure for grouping. A prototype system based on the proposed methodology has been implemented and used to group the shoe-lasts for custom-tailored shoes.

ASMs을 이용한 특징점 추출에 기반한 3D 얼굴데이터의 정렬 및 정규화 : 정렬 과정에 대한 정량적 분석 (3D Face Alignment and Normalization Based on Feature Detection Using Active Shape Models : Quantitative Analysis on Aligning Process)

  • The alignment of facial images is crucial for 2D face recognition. This is the same to facial meshes for 3D face recognition. Most of the 3D face recognition methods refer to 3D alignment but do not describe their approaches in details. In this paper, we focus on describing an automatic 3D alignment in viewpoint of quantitative analysis. This paper presents a framework of 3D face alignment and normalization based on feature points obtained by Active Shape Models (ASMs). The positions of eyes and mouth can give possibility of aligning the 3D face exactly in three-dimension space. The rotational transform on each axis is defined with respect to the reference position. In aligning process, the rotational transform converts an input 3D faces with large pose variations to the reference frontal view. The part of face is flopped from the aligned face using the sphere region centered at the nose tip of 3D face. The cropped face is shifted and brought into the frame with specified size for normalizing. Subsequently, the interpolation is carried to the face for sampling at equal interval and filling holes. The color interpolation is also carried at the same interval. The outputs are normalized 2D and 3D face which can be used for face recognition. Finally, we carry two sets of experiments to measure aligning errors and evaluate the performance of suggested process.

QP-DTW: Upgrading Dynamic Time Warping to Handle Quasi Periodic Time Series Alignment

  • Dynamic time warping (DTW) is the main algorithms for time series alignment. However, it is unsuitable for quasi-periodic time series. In the current situation, except the recently published the shape exchange algorithm (SEA) method and its derivatives, no other technique is able to handle alignment of this type of very complex time series. In this work, we propose a novel algorithm that combines the advantages of the SEA and the DTW methods. Our main contribution consists in the elevation of the DTW power of alignment from the lowest level (Class A, non-periodic time series) to the highest level (Class C, multiple-periods time series containing different number of periods each), according to the recent classification of time series alignment methods proposed by Boucheham (Int J Mach Learn Cybern, vol. 4, no. 5, pp. 537-550, 2013). The new method (quasi-periodic dynamic time warping [QP-DTW]) was compared to both SEA and DTW methods on electrocardiogram (ECG) time series, selected from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Beth Israel Hospital (MIT-BIH) public database and from the PTB Diagnostic ECG Database. Results show that the proposed algorithm is more effective than DTW and SEA in terms of alignment accuracy on both qualitative and quantitative levels. Therefore, QP-DTW would potentially be more suitable for many applications related to time series (e.g., data mining, pattern recognition, search/retrieval, motif discovery, classification, etc.).

축소모형실험을 통한 급곡선 터널에서의 Shield TBM 추진 압력 적용 기술에 대한 연구 (Application technique on thrust jacking pressure of shield TBM in the sharp curved tunnel alignment by model tests)

  • 본 연구는 축소모형 실험을 통하여 급곡선 터널에서의 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 적용 기술에 대한 논문이다. 최근 한국의 도심지 지역에서 NATM 터널 공사에 발생하는 진동 및 소음 문제를 예방하기 위해 기계식 터널공법인 쉴드 TBM 공법의 적용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 건물 기초 및 지하 구조물을 피하기 위해 터널 선형이 급곡선으로 계획하여야 하며 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 시스템에 대한 적용 기술의 개발이 요구된다. 따라서 곡선구간에 대한 쉴드 TBM 굴진 시 영향을 주는 주요 요소들에 대하여 시공자료와 이론적 접근방법에 대하여 검토 및 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과로부터 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 시스템에 대한 기술이 급곡선 터널에 있어서 가장 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지반과 쉴드 TBM 헤드부의 상호 거동에 대한 실질적인 상황을 시뮬레이션 하기 위하여 축소모형시험을 실시하였다. 2가지의 서로 다른 쉴드 추진력과 여러 중절각도에 따라 쉴드 TBM 헤드에 가해지는 지반압력에 대하여 측정하였다. 이 실험으로부터 얻어진 결과를 분석 하였다. 이들 결과는 급곡구간 터널에서 쉴드 TBM 추진 압력에 따른 쉴드 TBM 헤드부의 상호거동에 대한 이해와 운영기술 발전에 매우 유용할 것이다.

Pitch Accent Realization in North Kyungsang Korean: Tonal Alignment as a Function of Nasal Position in Syllables

  • This study investigates patterns of the alignment of the accentual peaks in bisyllabic words of the CVNCV, CVNV, and CVNNV structures in North Kyungsang Korean. Based on the tonal alignment, patterns of the F0 pitch excursion are discussed relative to one another. Issues are addressed concerning how the tonal targets are aligned, and how the tonal specifications of nasals in postvocalic, intervocalic, and prevocalic environments are supplied in the LH, HL, and HH classes. Tonal specification of nasals in various environments is accounted for by extension of the L target, displacement of the pitch peak, and interpolation between two tonal targets, depending on the tonal class. The results in this study provide preliminary evidence that the categorical alignment of the tonal targets is implemented by simply checking the presence or absence of a nasal before or after the nucleus vowel on the segmental string, without reference to the constituency of the nasal in the syllable structure. However, the prosodic structure has a key role to play in explaining speaker-dependent variations in the tonal alignment. Sensitivity to tautosyllabicity has an effect on the shape of the F0 contour, and disparity in the patterns of the pitch excursion is represented as a function of syllable structure correlated with segmental composition of the nasal.

배관측 정렬 방법을 이용한 다중레이저 스캐닝 기반의 3차원 배관복원 (A 3-D Tube Reconstruction based on Axis Alignment of Multiple Laser Scanning)

  • A novel 3D tube scanning technique is proposed. The proposed tube scanning technique is developed for a special tube inspection module which consists of four line-lasers and one camera. Using the scanning module, we can reconstruct the 360 degree shapes of the inner surfaces of a cylindrical tube. From an image frame captured by the camera, we reconstruct a partial tube model based on four laser triangulations. Then by aligning such partial models with respect to a reference tube axis, a complete 3D shape of the tube is reconstructed. The tube axis in each reconstructed frame is aligned with a 3D Euclidean transformation to the reference axis. Several experiments show that the proposed method can align multiple tube axes very accurately and reconstruct 3D shapes of a tube with very low shape distortion.

얼굴인식을 위한 3D Active Appearance Model (3D Active Appearance Model for Face Recognition)

  • Active Appearance Models은 객체의 모델링에 널리 사용되며, 특히 얼굴 모델은 얼굴 추적, 포즈 인식, 표정 인식, 그리고 얼굴 인식에 널리 사용되고 있다. 최초의 AAM은 Shape과 Appearance가 하나의 계수에 의해서 만들어 지는 Combined AAM이였고, 이후 Shape과 Appearance의 계수가 분리된 Independent AAM과 3D를 표현할 수 있는 Combined 2D+3D AAM이 개발 되었다. 비록 Combined 2D+3D AAM이 3D를 표현 할 수 있을지라도 이들은 공통적으로 2D 영상을 사용하여 모델을 생산한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 stereo-camera based 3D face capturing device를 통해 획득한 3D 데이터를 기반으로 하는 3D AAM을 제안한다. 우리의 3D AAM은 3D정보를 이용해 모델을 생산하므로 기존의 AAM보다 정확한 3D표현이 가능하고 Alignment Algorithm으로 Inverse Compositional Image Alignment(ICIA)를 사용하여 빠르게 Model Instance를 생산할 수 있다. 우리는 3D AAM을 평가하기 위해 stereo-camera based 3D face capturing device로 촬영해 수집한 한국인 얼굴 데이터베이스[9]로 얼굴인식을 수행하였다.

불균형 신체발달 스쿼시 선수들의 교정 프로그램 개발 연구 (A Developmental Study of an Alignment Program for the Asymmetrically Developed Squash Players)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a body alignment correction program on asymmetrically developed squash players. Method : 30 experienced squash players who showed asymmetric body development, after evaluation of moire topography contour line shape, were involved in the experiment. All of them were right-handed and had more than five years of experience playing squash. Variables of body composition, moire topography and EMG were statistically compared between pre- and post- application of the 12-week body alignment correction program. The program consisted of 10-minute, left-handed forehand and backhand drive movements and 36 minutes performing 12 different yoga postures. Results : First, the body alignment correction program showed significant effects on the total weight, body fat percentage, and body mass index of the participants. Second, a decrease of right side inclined angles and an increase of left side inclined angles might result in a higher left-right symmetry rate and a better left-right balance; however the data was not statistically significant. Third, the EMG left-right deviation of erector spinae and latissimus decreased and the erector spinae muscle was thought to be more essential for vertebral movement and left-right asymmetry correction. Conclusion : A body alignment correction program, including yoga and opposite side exercises, could reduce left-right asymmetry.

대면적 임프린트 장비를 위한 LCD Glass 변형 시뮬레이션 연구 (LCD Glass strain Simulation For Large Size Imprint Equipment)

  • The purpose of the study is to simulate the displacement of the LCD glass during process of a large size imprint. During this process, a small temperature variation makes thermal stress, which causes the horizontal variation of mold and glass. During alignment process to fix the LCD glass on a alignment stage, the vertical displacement is made by the absorption pressure and the shear stress. This study simulates the horizontal displacement of mold and glass due to temperature variation, the vertical displacement depending on the shape of absorption surface fixing the LCD glass in the alignment process, and the horizontal and vertical displacement which occurs in the LCD glass at the alignment process. Algor which is a FEM code for a framework simulation was applied. Temperature variation above ${\pm}$ $0.1^{\circ}C$ on mold and glass causes the horizontal displacement of 150nm due to thermal expansion. The vertical displacement due to the circular is ten times of the case of rectangular absorption nozzle. The displacement of the LCD glass in the alignment process is about 49nm.

원추형 센터와 볼형 센터를 이용한 페룰 동축 연삭시 척킹에 관한 연구-척킹 오차 해석 (A Study on the Chucking of Ferrule using Cone-type Centers and Ball-type Centers in Co-Axial Grinding - Chucking Error Analysis)

  • Ferrule is widely used as fiber optic connecters. In fiber-optic communications. the shape accuracy such as coaxiality and cylindricity of ferrule affects insertion loss. When coaxial grinding of ferrule supported by two pin. pin alignment and chucking accuracy are very important. In this research, the kinematic behavior of the ferrule centers are investigated in the case where the ferrule is chucked with the cone-shaped center pins and bail centers, With homogeneous coordinate transformation and numerical analysis, the obtained results are as follows: In the case of cone-type center, the alignment errors between center pins alone do not affect the rotation accuracy of ferrule. The alignment errors between center holes cause sinusoidal displacement of ferrule. And the maximum displacement of ferrule centers is proportional to the center pin angle. In the case of ball-type center, the displacements of ferrule centers has similar pattern as cone-type center, and the alignment errors art proportional to ball diameters.
