A Study on Application of Shaft-box Type Double Skin to Apartment Building (공동주택에 대한 Shaft Box형 이중외피의 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The balcony of our apartment building consists of unique construction similar to double skin. It is announced broadly that double skin is very effective system in improvement of natural ventilation and indoor thermal environment, and outdoor sound protection. So, for the improvement of indoor climate and energy saving, many peoples studied about environmental performance of our balcony construction. This study focus on shaft box facade, special form of box window construction. It consists of a system of box window with continuous vertical shafts that extend over a number of stories to create a stack effect. Proto-type was decided by analyzing various types of exiting apartments. Shaft box type balcony was created by setting up shaft space at a part of balcony. Air flow and contribution of air temperature were simulated, performance of shaft box type balcony was compared with existing balcony. Finally, we confirmed that shaft box type balcony has many possibility for improvement of indoor environment.

  • Recently, because of the continuous rise of international oil price, energy saving is strongly demanding. So, Ecological technics of architecture such as use of natural energy have been actively explored in the field of building. In the method of utilizing natural energy, the key point is to saving energy effectively as not lowering the comfort of indoor environment, various systems investigated. Many papers about double skin facade system have been reported, it is announced broadly that the system is very effective in improvement of natural ventilation and indoor thermal environment, and also protecting outdoor sound. The shaft box facade is a special form of box window construction. It consists of a system of box windows with continuous vertical shafts that extend over a number of stories to create a stack effect. The facade layout consists of an alternation of box windows and vertical shaft segments. This research investigated the natural ventilation performance of shaft box type balcony which conform the shaft box type double skin to the exiting balcony construction. First, analyzed various types of exiting apartments, proto-type was decided. By using virtual environment Program, modeling the proto-type, compared the contribution of air temperature and the effect of outdoor air cooling. by this research, we confirmed that shaft box type balcony had many possibility for improvement of indoor environment.

  • This study focus on shaft box facade, special form of box window construction. It consists of a system of box window with continuous vertical shafts that extend over a number of stories to create a stack effect. The subject building was decided by analyzing various types of exiting apartments. Shaft box type balcony was devised by setting up shaft space at a part of balcony. Air flow and indoor air temperature were simulated, performance of shaft box type balcony was compared with existing types using VE computer simulation program. Research consequence can be summarized as follow: 1) In the case of existing types, the change of window opening rate has only a little effect on the improvement of indoor temperature. But, air flow rate increased two times in the case that changed opening rate 20% to 40% 2) In the case of existing types, the growth of air flow rate has little effect on the improvement of indoor temperature. But, shaft box type represented the remarkable effect on the improvement of indoor temperature as well as the growth of air flow rate.

  • In this study, It was designed and developed optimal rotary dressing system of centerless grinding using for ferrule machining. Dressing shaft's dropping is calculated by Finite Element Method, and bearing 7206ADB, 7005ADB is selected. Dressing wheel $GC\Box \;200\Box\; G\Box\; m\Box\; V-100^*25^*16$ is selected by pre-research. Also Motor, pulley, belt are selected, 0.4Kw-60Hz, 48.2 mm diameter, 2-5M-730 type, each.

Development of Electronically Controlled CVT for Hybrid Passenger Car (하이브리드 승용차용 전자식 무단변속기의 개발)

  • In this paper, the details of electronically controlled CVT is described , which Kia Motor company recently developed in prototype form for hybrid passenger car. This transmission has two input shafts, one for engine and the other for traction motor. The shaft for traction motor is located at rear side which is extended from primary pulley shaft and connected to traction motor through adapter gear box. Adopting two input system, various driving mode is available such as motor alone driving in hybrid vehicle application. As far as electrohydraulic system concerned , this transmission uses two bleed type variable force solenoids for line pressure and ratio control, and one on-off solenoid for clutch control. Another feature for this transmission is that oil pump for transmission is separate from CVT for supplying oil pressure even at vehicle standstill.

Study Improvement of the Evacuation Performance in a Double-Skin Structure (이중외피 구조 건축물의 피난성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined an effective way of measuring the evacuation performance in buildings, which are applied to a double skin facade through an evaluation of the escape safety. Buildings with a double skin facade appeared to have a faster combustion expansion speed for the upper floor if a fire occurs. Moreover, a double skin facade is more difficult to escape safely than a general building construction because of the limited design standards. Accordingly, this study suggested virtual modeling including single emergency stairs and alarm systems considering the risk in each structure of buildings. These results showed that box-type double skin, corridor access type, shaft-box type, and multistory facade systems showed a 26.4%, 29.1%, 23.4%, and 26.3% increase in evacuation performance, respectively, as well as securing the safety of occupants.

A Study on the Starter Control of the Turbo Generator (터보 제너레이터의 시동기 제어에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the result of a study on the starter control for a turbo generator. Because a starter in gear box type turbo-generator system is composed of gearbox and brush DC motor, it should be replaced with High Speed Generator(HSG)) in HSG type Turbo-generator. There-ore, it is necessary to design a new starting algorithm and starter. In gearbox type system, brush DC motor is rotated to the designed speed using low voltage-high current battery power. After brush DC motor speed is increased to several times by gearbox, gas turbine engine can be rotated to designed starting speed. If we implement a starter with High Speed Generator(HSG), it is necessary to drive high-speed generator to high-speed motor. High-speed generator with permanent magnet on rotor has a low leakage inductance fur driving high-speed rotation, and it is necessary high DC link voltage for inverter when High-speed generator is driven to high speed. This paper presents result of development of the boost converter for converting high voltage DC from low battery voltage and design of the inverter for controlling a high frequency current to be injected to motor winding. Also, we show performance of the designed starter by driving the turbo generator.
