베어링 강성을 고려한 10,100 TEU 컨테이너 운반선의 최적 추진축계 배치에 관한 사례 연구 (A case study on the optimal shafting alignment concerning bearing stiffness for 10,100 TEU container carrier)

  • 선박이 고출력화, 초대형화 됨에 따라 대형저속 2행정 엔진을 탑재한 선박에서 축계배치의 잘못에 기인하는 주기관 선미측 베어링과, 선미관 후부 베어링의 손상이 증가하는 경향이 있다. 또한 고출력화에 의한 추진축의 강성은 증가한 반면에 선체는 고장력 후판을 사용하므로 이전의 선체보다 훨씬 더 쉽게 변형하는 실정이다. 이는 기존의 선박보다 더욱 정교한 축계배치가 요구됨을 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 열팽창 효과, 감도지수를 이용한 중간축 베어링의 최적위치 선정 및 베어링의 강성을 고려하여, 베어링의 하중 분석 및 영향 계수를 분석함으로서 축계 배치가 이론적으로 최적이 되는 것을 검토하였다. 이를 위하여 축계 배치 계산시 대형 엔진 제조사의 엔진 거치기준을 참조하고, 한국선급 및 DnV 선급의 축계 배치 프로그램을 이용하여 검토하고 그 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

대형 컨테이너 선박의 합성수지계열 RAILKO BUSH 적용 연구 (The Study of Synthetic Material Bush (Railko Bush) Application on Large Container Vessel)

  • Recently, the synthetic material stern tube bush has been applied by ship owner's requirement because the synthetic material has a merit. That is to say, when stern tube seal is damaged and sea water comes into stern tube, it can work without problem because of water lubricating property. However, the material also has a demerit of temperature rise problem when some factors meets on synthetic material, for example, not sufficient lubrication oil supply and not proper shaft alignment and so on. As known in the world, the RAILKO bush is rampant for synthetic material by some ship owner because of the above mentioned reason. However, the bush has several accidents on large container vessel. Unfortunately or fortunately our yard has a chance to apply the RAILKO bush owing to requirement of specific ship owner. Therefore, it is much more required to approach the accurate shaft alignment analysis. In line with this reason, we had a shaft alignment calculation considering hull deformation and hull flexibility (hull stiffness). Also, in the calculation, we had considered dynamic condition which is reflected he propeller thrust forces and moments and oil film stiffness on the shaft alignment calculation. According to he shaft alignment calculation, bearing slope was applied on the tern tube bush and was measured. The RAILKO bush should be applied the running in procedure according to maker's recommendation for performing the oil film on the bush surface. Finally, the vessels were delivered successfully without any problem with AILKO bush as shown on his paper.

스트레인게이지를 이용한 회전체의 축정렬 연구 (A Study on Shaft Alignment of the Rotating Machinery by Using Strain Gages)

  • Misaligned shafts of the rotating machinery have caused noise, vibration. bearing failures, and stress concentration of coupling parts which decrease the efficiency and life of shaft systems. Therefore the proper shaft alignment of those system should be monitored continuously in dynamic condition. To solve these problems under dynamic condition a telemetry system is used. In this study, the condition of the least bending moment which is known by analyzing the structure and stress induced by misalignment is found. After the shaft is aligned by dial gage, a telemetry system with strain gages is installed on shaft. The relationship between bearing displacement and moment of coupling part influenced by misalignment is investigated. The moment derived from two shaft strain at the nearby coupling is measured. The bending strain is measured 5 times for average in static state as well as in dynamic state with 100∼700 rpm.

워터제트 추진기 임펠러 체결용 볼트파손 원인 분석 연구 (The Causes of Bolt Breakage During the Tightening of Impellers in Water Jet Propulsion Systems)

  • A water jet propeller is a key component that generates propulsion during the start of a naval vessel. When failure or breakage occurs, the vessel cannot operate. Recently, a flow analysis and structural analysis were conducted to understand the cause of damage to a bolt on a water jet. In particular, the stress and strain acting on the fastening bolt (impeller shaft and tail shaft) were examined to determine the extent of misalignment between the impeller shaft and the tail shaft of the water jet propeller. The study determined that stress and strain were concentrated on the impeller shaft and the tail shaft bolt. The alignment of the propeller impeller shaft and the tail shaft increased significantly in response to the tail shaft bolt. Failure of the tail shaft bolt fastening can lead to misalignment between the impeller shaft and the tail shaft.

The steam turbine vibrations mainly depend on the bearing oil the shaft alignment condition. This paper describes on the steam turbine abnormal vibration due to the oil whip in terms of the shaft alignment in the thermal power plant.

  • 선박이 고출력화, 대형화 됨에 따라 추진축의 강성은 증가한 반면에 선체는 고장력 후판을 사용하므로 이전의 선체보다 훨씬 더 쉽게 변형되는 실정이다. 흘수변화에 따른 선체변형은 축계를 구성하는 각각의 베어링 옵셋 및 반력에 연쇄적인 영향을 미치게 된다. 이는 기존의 선박보다 더욱 정교한 축계정렬이 요구됨을 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 최근 친환경 고효율 선박으로 등장한 5만 DWT급 석유화학제품운반선을 대상으로 선박의 흘수 변화에 따른 선미부 구조해석을 실시하고 구조해석으로부터 얻어진 축계의 상대변위를 이용하여 축계정렬 해석을 수행하였다. 구조해석은 선박의 통상 운항조건에서 최대 흘수 변화를 고려한 2개 조건에서 수행하였다. 이를 바탕으로 선체변형에 따른 베어링 옵셋 변화가 축계정렬에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다.

  • At the initial stage of propulsion shaft design, in line with shaft alignment, an intensified consideration of lateral vibration is needed to verify its operational safety. Recently the alignment problem affecting the lateral vibration has been becoming issues. However, the theoretical method of forced lateral vibration analysis is not cleary established so far and it is about to simply limited among the classification societies and international standards to avoid the blade natural frequency resonance cpm outside of ${\pm}20%$ of engine rpm at MCR. On the other hand, longer center distance between each support bearing shows an affirmative result normally in shaft alignment analysis whereas the blade order resonance speed may cause lowering near the limitation in the aspect of lateral vibration. Therefore, it is required careful attention to engineers as described above. As a method to solve the problem, it is mainly considered that remove forward stern tube bearing. In this paper, based on a medium size container ship case, theoretical study was carried out in the context of the forward stern tube bearing. The various effects and functions of forward stern tube bearing are reviewed and evaluated. Then an guidance note to lead the conclusion is proposed.

박용추진축계의 최적배치에 관한 연구 (Optimum Alignment of Marine Propulsion Shafting)

  • 박용추진축계의 최적배치상태를 얻기 위해 선형계획법에 의한 최적배치 전산프로그램을 개발했으며, 여기에 필요한 자료들은 삼차모먼트정리를 매트릭스산법으로 전산처리해서 얻어냈고, 이 프로그램의 신속성을 확인하기 위해 모형축의 계산치와 스트레인 게이지에 의한 실측치를 비교하고, 실선축계에 적용한 결과 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있었다. 1. 최적배치의 필수자료인 직선지지상태의 반력 및 반력경향계수를 구하는 전산프로그램을 개발해서, 모형축에 적용한 결과, 실험치와 계산치가 거의 일치했고, 실선축에 대해 계산한 값도 타 프로그램으로 계산한 것과 거의 비슷했다. 2. 본 논문의 스트레인게이지에 의한 축계상태치의 계측방법은 실선축의 배치상태의 조정시에 매우 효과적으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 3. 최적배치의 전산프로그램을 실선축에 적용한 결과, 제한조건을 만족하려면, 지지베어링들을 상당량 수직방향으로 조절해야 함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 최적배치의 관건은 배치계산에 필요한 정확한 자료와 제한조건을 구하는 것이라 할 수 있겠다.

  • The effects of hull flexibility on shaft alignment are growing as ship sizes are increased mainly for container carrier and LNG carrier. In order to consider hull flexibility on a propulsion shafting system, standardization of ship service conditions is necessary because hull deformation is continuously variable according to ship service conditions. How to summarize ship service conditions is suggested based on practically applicable four viewpoints : hull, engine, loading and sea status. Effects of the external forces acting on a ship propulsion shafting system are generally commented. Several design criteria regulated by classification societies are pointed at issue which seems to have Insufficient technical background. A qualitative verification is carried out to point out the invalidity of the assumption of effective supporting position. In this work, an elastic nonlinear multi-supporting bearing system is introduced as a key concept of the elastic shaft alignment. Hertz contact theory is proved to be more proper one than projected area method in calculation of the nonlinear elastic stiffness of the bearing, The squeezing and oil film pressure calculations in the long journal bearing like an after stern tube bearing are recognized as a necessary process for elastic shaft alignment design.
