A Semantics for KADS Model of Expertise (KADS 지식 모델의 의미론)

  • KADS is currently a best known methodology for expert system development is Europe. KADS world sees the expert system development as a modeling activity and uses models to control complexity of the development process. Four layers KADS expertise model is used to describe expert knowledge. But this expertise model in high abstraction level is conceptual and not formalized. This paper has formalized KADS expertise model using set theory and mathematical semantics combined in order to reduce the ambiguity of informal models of expertise, provide a precise means of communication about the model of expertise and point out incompleteness and inconsistency of the model of expertise. Instead of first order predicate calculs, set theory and mathematical semantics are used because they are a more general and have compositive quality.

  • This paper presents a vector control implementation for SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) using dSPACE 1104 system and MATLAB/SIMULINK. SPMSM can be treated as a DC motor provided that currents of flux and torque component are controlled independently using vector control. Therefore various control algorithms for conventional DC motor control can be adopted to SPMSM. The system is designed to improve set-point tracking capability, fast response, and accuracy. In This paper, d-q equivalent modeling of PMSM is derived based on vector control theory. The PI controller is used for speed control and state feedback PI current control method is used for current control. For the implementation of high performance vector control system, dSPACE 1104 system is used. Simulations and experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.

  • An Exponetial feeding strategy has been frequently used in fed-batch fermentation of recombinant E. coli. In this feeding scheme, growth yield and initial cell concentration, which can be erroneously determined, are needed to calculate the feed rate for controlling specific growth rate at the set point. The effect of the incorrect growth yield and initial cell concentration on the control of the specific growth rate was theoretically analyzed. Insignificance of the correctness of those parameters for the control of the specific growth rate was shown theoretically and experimentally.

  • The principle objective of this paper is to explain and demonstrate the advantage of the output-feedback controller proposed by Ailon in [61 by using simulation and experimental results. Namely, the goal of this study is to design and implement a real-time controller for set-point regulation of a one-link rigid robot manipulator with unknown parameters using only position measurement. For implementation a direct drive one-link rigid robot manipulator is constructed and a TMS320C40 DSP systems board is used in implementing real-time control algorithm.

  • This paper addresses the design procedure and testing result of a servo driven pan/tilt device which is capable of tracking arbitrary movement of a specified target object. In order to achieve real-time acquisition of feedback signal, a 2 degree-of freedom non-contact type displacement follower has been employed in stead of vision camera. The performance of the designed system is tested for different target velocities and control gains. The test result shows the satisfactory performance to be adopted as an effective tool for visual transfer in the context of teleoperation.

  • A terminal response time analysis for a general class of terminals-to-computer subsystem is presented in this paper. On the point of the front view, it should be considered for R.O.K. Military Defense to set up the communication network in order to facilitate for the currency of the information and the data communication system. The model used to study is based on the advanced data communications system in which terminals are connected to Terminal Control Units(TCU) that are in turn connected to local Front-End Processor(FEP). The line control procedures used to interface a TCU and an FEP may be half-duplex Binary Synchronous Communication(BSC), half-duplex Synchronous Data Link Control(SDLC), or full-duplex SLDC. This paper will contribute to facilitate the initial phase of system design and configuration for the Military Defense Communication Network System in future.

  • This paper seeks to Combination for Efficient Application of SPC/EPC minimize variability by transferring the output variable to a related process controllable variable, while SPC seeks to reduce variability by detecting and eliminating assignable causes of variation. In the case of product control, a very reasonable objective is to try to minimize the variance of the output deviations from the target or set point. We consider an alternative EPC model with autoregressed disturbance. We compare three control systems; EPC, Cp, SPC combined system with EWMA, CUSUM and Shewhart. This paper shows through simulation that the performance of the integrated model of EPC and SPC, Cp is more preferable than that of EPC.

AN APPROACH FOR SOLVING NONLINEAR PROGRAMMING PROBLEMS

  • In this paper we use measure theory to solve a wide range of the nonlinear programming problems. First, we transform a nonlinear programming problem to a classical optimal control problem with no restriction on states and controls. The new problem is modified into one consisting of the minimization of a special linear functional over a set of Radon measures; then we obtain an optimal measure corresponding to functional problem which is then approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted approximately to a finite-dimensional linear programming. Then by the solution of the linear programming problem we obtain the approximate optimal control and then, by the solution of the latter problem we obtain an approximate solution for the original problem. Furthermore, we obtain the path from the initial point to the admissible solution.

  • This paper considers the design of the effective controllers for the plant with an integrator and a long deadtime. The structure of the new DTC(DeadTime Compensator) that has an additive filter is proposed. Our DTC shows the improved performance in set-point response and disturbance rejection. Especially the bad effect of the long deadtime in the disturbance rejection is fairly reduced by using the additive filter. Illustrative examples are provided to show the availability of the proposed controller.
