  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to test the effectiveness of an 8 session intervention program to prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among at-risk prostitutes. Method: An experimental research design was employed. Subjects were 59 prostitutes (29 in the control group and 30 in the experimental group) who agreed to participate in this study. An STD Prevention Framework derived from Cox's Interaction Model of Client Health Behavior guided the overall intervention and the components. The intervention had 8 sessions with STD-prevention strategies and was led by Public Health Nurses. Analysis included change scores, $x^2$-test, and t-test. Result: The results revealed significant increase in feelings and skills of condom use, peer belief on condom use, condom use practice, and satisfaction with service at public health centers (PHC) on STDs knowledge and skills in the experimental group. However, newly contracted STDs were not significant statistically between groups. Conclusion: The 8 session STDs prevention program showed a effect on emotions, skills and' behaviors of condom use even with the limitation of methodological rigors because of subject-specific conditions. In the future, a capacity-building model based on collaborating networks among community-based organizations will be needed to develop in effective STDs prevention.

  • In order to securely transmit multicast data packets in a mobile environment where frequent join/leave events are a characteristic of the environment, there is a need for a new secure and efficient group key management solution. We propose a secure group key generation/distribution solution providing scalability and reliability. Using this solution, when a mobile node, which is in a multicast session, enters a new domain, the agent of the domain joins the multicast session and coordinates its data packets with the mobile node. The agent encrypts and transmits subsequent data packets to the mobile node, using a local one-time pad key. This key is generated with FI sequences, enabling the mobile node to regenerate the same data packet, based on the information sent by the agent. Our performance analysis demonstrates that the proposed solution can significantly reduce the number of key generations and distributions, when it is applied to the hierarchical mobile IPv6 network.

  • In this paper, we propose a simple and useful method using a port role to visualize the network attacks. The port role defines the behavior of the port from the source and destination port number of network session. Based on the port role, the port provides the brief security features of each node as an attacker, a victim, a server, and a normal host. We have automatically classified and identified the type of node based on the port role and security features. We detected and visualized the network attacks using these features of the node by the port role. In addition, we are intended to solve the problems with existing visualization technologies which are the reflection problem caused an undirected network session and the problem caused decreasing of distinct appearance when occurs a large amount of the sessions. The proposed method monitors anomalies occurring in an entire network and displays detailed information of the attacker, victim, server, and hosts. In addition, by providing a categorized analysis of network attacks, this method can more precisely detect and distinguish them from normal sessions.

  • When a dynamic method is applied at the time of occurrence of an client's connection request for most of the online gaming server engine, the gaming server is processing a session connection, it's initialization. Yet, such a method will cause a lot of loading and bottle-neck in the gaming server at the same time. Therefore we propose the object polling scheme to minimizes a memory fragmentation and loading of the initialization on the client using a static allocation method for an efficient On-lin gaming serverin this paper. We implement the gaming server applying to our proposed scheme, and we show an improvement in our proposed scheme by performance analysis in this paper.

  • One of the key elements in the emerging, packet-based long term evolution (LTE) cellular systems is the deployment of multiple femtocells for the improvement of coverage and data rate. However, arbitrary overlaps in the coverage of these femtocells make the handover operation more complex and challenging. As the existing handover strategy of LTE systems considers only carrier to interference plus noise ratio (CINR), it often suffers from resource constraints in the target femtocell, thereby leading to handover failure. In this paper, we propose a new efficient, multi-objective handover solution for LTE cellular systems. The proposed solution considers multiple parameters like signal strength and available bandwidth in the selection of the optimal target cell. This results in a significant increase in the handover success rate, thereby reducing the blocking of handover and new sessions. The overall handover process is modeled and analyzed by a three-dimensional Markov chain. The analytical results for the major performance metrics closely resemble the simulation results. The simulation results show that the proposed multi-objective handover offers considerable improvement in the session blocking rates, session queuing delay, handover latency, and goodput during handover.
