The Japan National Committee for the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and UICC-Asia Regional Office (ARO) organized an international session as part of the official program of the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association to discuss the topic "What is cost-effectiveness in cancer treatment?" Healthcare economics are an international concern and a key issue for the UICC. The presenters and participants discussed the question of how limited medical resources can be best used to support life, which is a question that applies to both developing and industrialized countries, given that cancer treatment is putting medical systems under increasing strain. The emergence of advanced yet hugely expensive drugs has prompted discussion on methodologies for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) that seek to quantify cost and effect. The session benefited from the participation of various stakeholders, including representatives of industry, government and academia and three speakers from the Republic of Korea, an Asian country where discussion on HTA methodologies is already advanced. In addition, the session was joined by a representative of National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) of the United Kingdom, which has pioneered the concept of cost-effectiveness in a medical context. The aim of the session was to advance and deepen understanding of the issue of cost-effectiveness as viewed from medical care systems in different regions.

In the coming age of information warfare, information security patterns need to be changed such as to the active approach using offensive security mechanisms rather than traditional passive approach just protecting the intrusions. In an active security environment, it is essential that, when detecting an intrusion, the immediate confrontation such as analysing the intrusion situation in realtime, protecting information from the attacks, and even tracing the intruder. This paper presents an active intrusion-confronting system using a fake session and a honeypot. Through the fake session, the attacks like Dos(Denial of Service) and port scan can be intercepted. By monitoring honeypot system, in which the intruders are migrated from the protected system and an intrusion rule manager is being activated, new intrusion rules are created and activated for confronting the next intrusions.

In the field of document editing, a real-time collaborative editing that multiple users edit a same document simultaneously has been actively studied. The co-editing session should be kept for the synchronization about the changes during the real-time collaborative editing of documents among the participants. If the session ends during collaborative editing, they wouldn't be able to continue co-editing anymore. The purpose of this study is to develop a framework for Continuous Real-time Collaborative Editing that disconnects the session in unintended situations. Participants should be able to terminate editing at any time in opened co-editing session, and certain participant is able to disconnected because of unstable networks. In this case, the editing session should be maintained without termination.
Recently, since the number of internet users is increasing rapidly and, by using the public hacking tools, general network users can intrude computer systems easily, the hacking problem is getting more serious. In order to prevent the intrusion, it is needed to detect the sign in advance of intrusion in a positive prevention by detecting the various foms of hackers' intrusion trials to know the vulnerability of systems. The existing network-based anomaly detection algorithms that cope with port- scanning and the network vulnerability scans have some weakness in intrusion detection. they can not detect slow scans and coordinated scans. therefore, the new concept of algorithm is needed to detect effectively the various forms of abnormal accesses for intrusion regardless of the intrusion methods. In this paper, SPAD(Session Pattern Anomaly Detector) is presented, which detects the abnormal service patterns by comparing them with the ordinary normal service patterns.
Mobile IP Low Latency Handoffs(l) allow greater support for real-time services on a Mobile IP network by minimizing the period of time when a mobile node is unable to send or receive IP packets due to the delay in the Mobile IP Registration process. However, on Mobile IP network with AAA servers that are capable of performing Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting(AAA) services, every Registration has to be traversed to the home network to achieve new session keys, that are distributed by home AAA server, for a new Mobile IP session. This communication delay is the time taken to re-authentication the mobile node and to traverse between foreign and home network even if the mobile node has been previously authorized to old foreign agent. In order to reduce these extra time overheads, we present a method that performs Low Latency Handoffs without requiring further involvement by home AAA server. The method re-uses the previously assigned session keys. To provide confidentiality and integrity of session keys in the phase of key exchange between agents, it uses a key sharing method by gateway foreign agent that performs a trusted thirty party. The proposed method allows the mobile node to perform Low Latency Handoffs with fast as well as secure operation.

We present a network coding scheme which is designed for improving throughput in multi-hop wireless network with multi-radio multi-channel. The co-channel interference and unreliability of wireless transmissions cause the wireless network to reduce throughput. In wireless network, multi-radio multi-channel technology shows benefit to cut down channel interferences and contentions. And network coding can reduce the complexity of scheduling and improve throughput by increasing usage of links in wireless network. In this paper, we propose a method of channel assignment and transmission scheduling in intra-session network coding that efficiently improve throughput for multi-hop wireless network by using mathematical modeling and linear programming. Moreover, we evaluate the performance of the intra-session network coding scheme by using AMPL with CPLEX. The simulation results show that intra-session network coding can achieve better throughput than traditional routing.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of a one-session spouse-support enhancement childbirth education on childbirth selfcefficacy and perception of childbirth experience. Methods: The design of this study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest experiment. The participants in the study were 31 couples in the experimental group and 30 in the control group. The experimental couples were provided with one session on spouse-support enhancement childbirth education the night before delivery. Data were collected at two hours after delivery using the Childbirth Self-Efficacy Inventory (CBSEI) and perception of childbirth experience scale. Data were analyzed using PASW statistics 18 program. Frequencies, percentage, mean, $x^2test$, t-test were used for data analysis. Results: Childbirth self-efficacy significantly increased in the experimental group as compared to the control group, but there was no significant difference in perception of childbirth experience in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results suggest that a one-session childbirth education has beneficial effects on enhancing childbirth self-efficacy in pregnant couples. A one-session spouse-support enhancement childbirth education is recommended as an effective nursing intervention to promote couple's childbirth self-efficacy and it is also recommended that modifications of program to promote women's childbirth experience should be considered.
Session initiation protocol (SIP) is an application-layer prolocol to initiate and control multimedia client session. When client ask to use a SIP service, they need to be authenticated in order to get service from the server. Authentication in a SIP application is the process in which a client agent present credentials to another SIP element to establish a session or be granted access to the network service. In 2005, Yang et al. proposed a key exchange and authentication scheme for use in SIP applications, which is based on the Diffie-Hellman protocol. But, Yang et al.'s scheme is not suitable for the hardware-limited client and severs, since it requires the protocol participant to perform significant amount of computations (i.e., four modular exponentiations). Based on this observation. Huang and Wei have recently proposed a new efficient key exchange and authentication scheme thor improves on Yang et al.'s scheme. As for security, Huang and Wei claimed, among others, that their scheme is resistant to offline dictionary attacks. However, the claim turned out to be untrue. In this paper, we show thor Huang and Wei's key exchange and authentication scheme is vulnerable to on offline dictionary attack and forward secrecy.
The purpose of this study is to develop a life planning program for retired elderly people. This program is not a preparation program for elderly people prior to their retirement but a readjustment and re-planning their life after retirement. This program help retired elderly people to solve the life problem and set up a affirmative ones future image. Also this program pay regard to social, home backgrounds of this generation. The program consists of four session curriculums session 1 is entitled to &Make my future by oneself&, session 2 is &Enjoy healthy life as much as one can&, session 3 is &Have a heart for family& and session 4 is &Set up a mature old age&. A fled study has been conducted with ten retired elderly people who want to participated in the program voluntarily. 4 sessions each of which consists of 2 hours were performed at Korean Association of Retired Persons. Field test for program evaluation is designed to three steps: pre-test, post-test and one month follow-up test to measure the effectiveness of the program. According to evaluation results, the program shows a significantly positive effect on the improvement of elderly people's understanding about elderly life. At the one month follow-up assessment, the effect of program is still remained strongly even though there is a Partial slight increase or reduction which is not statistically significant. Most of the program participants have expressed high level of satisfaction with the program. For further study, we need various contents which are suited to larger group with diverse socio0-demographic backgrounds. At the same time, the program has diverse instruction methods which are pertinent to levels of participants. Also, the program needs to continuous adjustment to the next generation with their social, home backgrounds.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of using proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) exercise in the progressive sitting position on the dynamic balance ability of a patient with a cerebellar injury. Methods: The subject had ataxia due to cerebellar injury. The subject participated in a PNF bilateral scapular pattern exercise with stabilizing reversal technique during a progressive sitting position session as well as baseline for 20 minutes a day for 4 weeks. In the first session, PNF exercises were performed at a height of 40 cm for 10 minutes, and in the second session they were performed at 50 cm for 10 minutes from a lower center of gravity (COG) to a higher COG sitting position. We used the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Five-Times-Sit-to-Stand Test (FTSST), and the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT) to measure the subject's dynamic balance ability every two days through the entire session. Results: After participating in the program, the subject's dynamic balance ability improved compared to the first baseline, as measured by BBS (2 points increased), FTSST (5.3 sec decreased), and TUGT (2 sec decreased). The increase was also maintained in the second baseline session. Conclusion: PNF exercise using bilateral scapula patterns with a stabilizing reversal technique helps to enhance the dynamic balance ability of a cerebellar injury patient.
