  • Brushless servomotor systems offer a great advantae in unmanned factories where a great number of servomotors are employed, because of its easy maintenance charateristics and controllability. This paper propose a sinusoidal type brushless DC motor speed servo system which has high efficiency and usability in industrial field as described above. And this servo system is realized by a new Auto-Tuning PI control algorithm and verified it's practical potential of implementation by self-designed driver system. In particular, DSP(digital signal processor) is adopted in this study as controller and sensor signal processor owing to their fast computational capability and suitable architecture.

  • In this paper, we developed an expert system that helped a machine-tool designer to select a moderate servomotor of the feed drive unit of a machine tool. With the specification of the drive unit, it searches for the set of servo-motors that have enough torque and power to satisfy the driving condition which the designer defines from the database. me database also contains knowledge and rules, which describe the design process and calculate design parameters of a feed drive. The knowledge-based design support module shows every steps of inference and reason for the solution that it provides.

  • This paper describes the efforts to develop an PC based parameter identification system for the D.C. servomotor. The whole identification process of signal generation, measuring, parameter determination is fully automated. To minimize errors due to the ripple component in the measured armature current, digital averaging filter is employed. The proposed parameter correction method using the deadzone current and the time to reach the peak current resulted in excellent agreement between the measured current and estimated current using the model.

  • The main aim of this paper is to investigate the possibility of applying fuzzy control algorithms to a microprocessor-based servomotor controller which requires faster and more accurate response compared with many other industrial processes. In addition, this study deals with the control of the lateral motion of a mobile vehicle. A adaptive fuzzy logic controller(AFLC) is designed and applied to a experimental mobile vehicle in order to achieve control of the lateral motion of the vehicle.

  • In this paper, the dynamic system modeling and the state sensitivity analysis of the spin-coater system for the reduction of the vibration are proposed. In the respect of modeling, the spin-coater system is composed of components of servomotor, belt, spindle, and a supported base. Each component is defined and combined modeling is derived to 3dimensional equations. Verification of modeling is verified by experimental values of actual system in the frequency domain. By direct differentiation the constraint equations with respect to kinematic design variables, such as eccentricity of spindle, moment of inertia, torsional stiffness and damping of supported base, sensitivity equations are derived to the verified state equations. Sensitivity of design variables could be used for vibration reduction and natural frequency shift in the frequency domain. Finally, dominant design variables ...

  • Nowadays due to the remarkable advance of power electronics and micro controller, a Brushless AC servomotor which has the characteristics of the high inertia to torque ratio, the high power density, the maintenance free, and so on is being used widely in industrial robots, machine tools, and factory automation. In a conventional DC motor, the polarity commutation is performed of itself by mechanical brush and commutator, but the PM synchronous motor requires an electrical commutation according to the rotor position. Then for the maximum torque production PM synchronous motor has to be equipped with a controller which maintains the optimal phase angle between the stator field and the magnetic field ...

  • This paper presents a macro/micro flip chip mounting head system for precise force control. In the proposed macro/ micro system, the macro actuator is conventional do servomotor with a ball screw mechanism and the micro actuator is a voice coil motor(VCM) that consists of four NdFeB magnets and a winded moving coil. For force control, a sensitive strain-gauge force sensor is mounted in the micro actuator. Through harmonic motion between macro and micro actuator, we would like to get precise contact force control when small sized flip chip is mounted on flexible substrate in high speed. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed macro/micro flip chip mounting head system, we com...

  • A telemanipulator that reflects grasping force of the slave gripper to the human operator was implemented in order for manipulation to be more delicate and safe. An industrial robot gripper was used as the slave manipulator. The master manipulator was constructed to make it easy for a human operator to direct the slave and to feel the reflected gripping force. Reflected force was generated by the servomotor of the master. The force signal and position signals of the master and the slave was used to generate driving force signal. Basically position-position type control was used. Miner force feedback is added to improve the performance of the system. Implemented system was tested by colliding two fingers of the slave manipulator, and here switching was used to archive more fast and easy manipulation.

  • This parer is a study on the inverse dynamics of a one-link flexible robot arm which is controlled by translational base motion. The system is composed of a flexible arm, a base for driving arm, a DC servomotor, and a computer. The arm base is moved so that the arm tip follows a desired function. The governing equations are based on the Bernoullie-Euler beam theory and solved by applying the Laplace transform method and then the numerical inversion method. Moter voltage is obtained by simulation for tip trajectory functions i. e. Bang-Bang, Cosine and Gauss Function. And, the tip motion is measured while simulation results are applying. Then the results are investigated to select most proper input and to compare their chateristics. Experimental results show the Cosine function is most proper with respect to low maximum voltage and steady state error.

  • A simulation analysis is presented for the position control of a single-link flexible manipulator whose end-effector is subjected to an impulsive force. Arm is rotated by a d.c. servomotor at the shoulder so that the end point stays precisely at its initial position even if the end effector is thumped with the impulsive loading. A gap sensor is used to measure the tip displacement. The control torque based on the PD control law is applied to the motor through the driver circuit. The control strategy is tested by means of computer simulation for the one-link flexible-arm prototype in the authers' laboratory at Tohoku Univ.
