  • This paper present dynamic stiffness of servo motor using labVIEW PXI module. In speed control loop, we apply proportional gain and integral gain, using PID controller, respectively in servo motor and confirmed dynamic stiffness of servo motor varing each gain.   • In this paper, a synchronization control technique of dual-servo motor driven press system is proposed. An independent cascade PID control technique has been applied to the conventional press system for advancement of control stability. However, it is not easy to reduce synchronous error using the independent cascade PID control technique when some different load disturbances are involved in each motor. The eccentric error of the slide caused by the problem degrade the control performance of the BDC(Bottom Dead Center). In order to achieve reduction of the synchronous error between two servo motors and accurate position control simultaneously, a new control scheme comprised with cascade PID control loop and cross-coupling loop is proposed. In simulation using Matlab SIMULINK, the AC servo system is designed. The control performance of proposed technique is compared with conventional control technique to the model of AC servo system. Also, the sub-scale model of dual-servo motor driven press system which can replicate the slide motion is constructed for experimental verification for the performance of the proposed control technique. The cross-coupling control technique reveals more precise and stable performances in the position and synchronization controls.

  • To meet an increasing demand for high performance in gun dynamic plant, both a precise and a fast response positioning are strongly required for the gun servomechanism control. A mode switching control(MSC) system, which includes a fine stabilizing controller, fast positioning one and a switching function, is widely used to meet this requirement. Stabilization is performed through PID controller, while proximate time optimal servo(PTOS) is used for target designation. Because gun dynamic have large damping comparing to acceleration, PTOS algorithm with damping is newly derived. This paper adopts the initial value compensation method that improve the transient response after switching. Some simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of our scheme.

  • The detection of tool wear is very important in an automated manufacturing system. This paper presents a tool condition monitoring system based on the wavelet transform analysis of the AC servo motor current in a milling process. The current measurement is relatively simple and does not affect machining operations. The discrete wavelet transform was used to decompose the current of a spindle AC servo motor in the time and frequency domain. The feature vectors were extracted from the decomposed signals and compared to clarity normal and wear conditions. The results show the feasibility of the wavelet transform analysis for the tool condition monitoring.

  • The unbalance heavy-load elevation driving systems are composed of rotating link-mechanism and hydraulic cylinder which actuates elevation and compensates the static unbalance moment of supporting mechanism. Control and compensation of gun driving is very difficult because these mechanism imply highly nonlinearities due to hydraulic fluid characteristics and mechanical rotation of link-mechanism. In this study, through the analysis of manufactured link-mechanism, the optimal link-mechanism design of the elevating system is suggested. Also to estimate the control performance of the unbalance heavy-load elevation servo-control driving system, modeling and simulation of the system are carried out. To prove the reliability of performance estimation program,simulation results are compared with the experimental results. Both results are similar, therefore this program will be helpful to study the control performance improvement of the system.

  • A heavy load driving system for the gun laying control is designed with the analysis of performance in pointing accuracy and speed. To eliminate the firing noise and high frequency system noise, a .PI. filter is implemented in conjunction with the PI velocity control. To incorporate the gunner's commands in the PID position control loop easily, a .mu.-processor is utilized in the position control loop. Main difficulties in the heavy load driving system exist in the design of motor drivers and heat sinkers. With an appropriate design of the motor drivers and heat sinkers, the performance of the gun laying system is analyzed by the simulation.

  • This study considers an experimental design of disturbance compensation control to improve stabilization performance of main battle tanks. An adaptive non-parametric design technique based on the Filtered-x Least Mean Square(FXLMS) algorithm is applied in the consideration of model uncertainties. The optimal compensator is designed by two-step design procedures: determination of frequency response function of the disturbance compensator which can cancel the disturbance of series of single harmonics by using the FXLMS algorithm and determination of the compensator polynomial which can fit the frequency response function obtained in the first step optimally by using a curve fitting technique. The disturbance compensator is applied to a simple experimental gun-torsion bar-motor system which simulates gun driving servo-system. Along with experimental results, the feasibility of the proposed technique is illustrated. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control reduces the standard deviation of stabilization error to 47.6% that by feedback control alone. The directional properties of the FXLMS Algorithm such as the direction of convergence and its convergence speed are also verified experimentally.
