A Study on the Multi Servo Press System Development of Low Velocity Using Serial Communication (시리얼 통신을 이용한 저속의 멀티 서보 프레스 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, press and nut runner used in press-fit or tightening the bolts and nuts at assembling process of automobile parts companies continually demand accuracy and improved productivity. Simultaneous control of production systems through synchronization configuring of the combination multi press-fit system developed multi servo press system using the low-speed serial communication. As a result, the accuracy and the productivity is improved and product quality improvement could be achieved.

  • In this paper, a synchronization control technique of dual-servo motor driven press system is proposed. An independent cascade PID control technique has been applied to the conventional press system for advancement of control stability. However, it is not easy to reduce synchronous error using the independent cascade PID control technique when some different load disturbances are involved in each motor. The eccentric error of the slide caused by the problem degrade the control performance of the BDC(Bottom Dead Center). In order to achieve reduction of the synchronous error between two servo motors and accurate position control simultaneously, a new control scheme comprised with cascade PID control loop and cross-coupling loop is proposed. In simulation using Matlab SIMULINK, the AC servo system is designed. The control performance of proposed technique is compared with conventional control technique to the model of AC servo system. Also, the sub-scale model of dual-servo motor driven press system which can replicate the slide motion is constructed for experimental verification for the performance of the proposed control technique. The cross-coupling control technique reveals more precise and stable performances in the position and synchronization controls.

  • The Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) has been considered as an inherently safe and reliable method far joining metals, and has been widely employed, especially in automobile body assembly shops, as a manufacturing process. In recent years, the requirement for more sophisticated quality control procedures has considerably grown in the mass production industries. The object of the application of servo control to spot welding gun is the improvement of quality control in the spot welding, one of conventional industrial areas. The important factors affecting welding qualities (shear strength, nuggest size, indentation depth) are welding current, welding time, and gun press force. Welding current and welding time are controlled by welding timer. But, the conventional welding guns using compressed air are out of control in changing gun press forces in welding process. In this paper, a servo gun welding system having a AC servo motor and a PC control system is presented. The main object of this paper is to estimate the influence of gun press force changes in the welding process (press time -> welding time -> hold time) to welding qualities, and to evaluate welding qualities in real time, by recognizing the patterns of gun press forces changed in the welding process and comparing with the standard patterns.

  • The purpose of t his paper is to database each factors from experimental results and develop the servo-controlled feeding system on these database. At first, spring back and bending farce are analyzed by basic theory of bending processing. In database, through practical experiment by the expert various types of bending angel and thickness of plate are tested and classified with SB34P and Aluminum. For the development of servo-controlled feeding system, automatic feeding system is designed and manufactured with ball screw and LM guide and performance of the developed feeding system is tested under condition of standard machine tool examination. Also, Mechanical consideration of mainframe in press brake, development of controller based on NC, program for servo-control are studied. Finally, based on experimental data, the system is operated and compared with theoretical data

  • Metal Powder Metallurgy is a manufacturing technology that makes unique model parts or a certain type of product by using a hardening phenomenon when a powder of metal or metal oxide is put it into a mold and compression-molded by a press and then heated and sintered at a high temperature. Powder metallurgical press equipment is mainly used to make the parts of automobile, electronic parts and so on, and most of them are manufactured using precise servo motor. The intelligent precision servo control powder molding press system which is designed and implemented in this paper has advantages of lowering the price and maintaining the precision by using the mechanical camshaft for the upper ram part and precisely controlling the lower ram part using the high precision servo system. In addition, OPC-based monitoring and process data collection systems are designed and implemented to provide scalability that can be applied to smart manufacturing management systems that utilize Big Data in the future.

To solve these problems, this paper proposes Computer Numerical Control (CNC) general press brake and development of servo-control system based on database for reduction of geometric errors and pre-processing work time and high accuracy bending work.

  • A servo gun welding system having a AC servo motor and a PC control system is presented for the improvement of quality control in the spot welding. The spot welding process is composed of the press stage, the weld stage, and the hold stage. The changes of gun press forces according to three stages in the spot welding process are controlled and measured through the load cell in order to know the influence on the welding quality. The relation between the measured force changes according to three stages and welding qualities is also implemented on the multilayer perceptrons, one of supervised learning method of neural network, which are powerful for realization of complex mapping characteristics.
