  • Online financial counseling services are increasingly expanding with the rise of artificial intelligence-based chatbots. It is very important to examine the effects of emoticons noted as alternatives for communicating emotions in online communication between consumers and companies. In this paper, we examine how the use of emoticons affects the consumer's response and investigate the moderating roles of type of counseling agents (human vs. chatbot) and the consumer's subjective financial knowledge. The results show that the use of emoticon in the conversation brings a positive effect on the consumer's intention to use of online chat counseling service. When participants had relatively low subjective financial knowledge, they had higher intention to use online chat counseling services with emoticons only when the agent type was chatbot. When the type of counseling agent was human, this positive effect of the emoticon did not occur. On the other hand, when participants had relatively high subjective financial knowledge, they had higher intention to use online chat counseling service with emoticons only when the agent type was human. This study contributes to providing practical implications to build online chat counseling service using chatbot in the financial industry by studying users' intention depending on the type of agents and the level of their subjective knowledge.

Quantitative research was carried out as soon as the question was edited from the test results with a sample of 217 customers living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The research model was proposed from the studies of the behavioral intentions to accept and use banking service. The reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated by Cronbach's Alpha, Average Variance Extracted (Pvc), and Composite Reliability (Pc). The model selection of AIC showed that the behavioral intention to accept and use banking service was impacted by four components. The outcomes showed that the model of research intended to accept and use banking services in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam showing the effects of 4 scales is built as perceived ease of use, trust, social norm, and innovation about banking services.

  • With the development of sensor, communication and intelligent software technology, expectation of IoT-based service which can receive desired service automatically and anytime, anywhere is getting higher. In addition, IoT-based services have begun to anticipate the development of a hyper-connected society. Despite these expectations and anticipations, few studies have empirically identified ways to improve the intentions of prospective customers to use IoT-based services. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to propose a theoretical model that can explain the factors that determine the intention of using IoT-based services. In addition, this study investigates what factors affect the intention to use IoT-based services focusing on the connectedness. Especially, perceived connectivity with the (virtual) community, unlike the connectivity with the machines, is newly proposed, to understand the IoT technology adoption behavior. The empirical results suggest that social relationship is one of the critical factors to affect the use of services running on interconnected technology such as IoT. When IoT-based service is recognized as a link to other communities, it has been found to have a positive effect on intention to use via perceived belongingness.

  • Recently, IPTV attracts great attention along with the digital convergence of communication and media technologies. This study examined critical factors on the consumer's continued use of the IPTV service. Based on the expectation-confirmation theory and the innovation diffusion theory, we derived nine key factors in the research model-relative advantage, compatibility, ease of use, image, diversity of contents, interactivity, monetary value, social influence, and user satisfaction. Using the partial least square method, we found that content diversity and compatibility have a significant indirect effect on the continued use of the IPTV service via user satisfaction, and user satisfaction and social influence also have a significant direct impact on the IPTV use. These findings not only provide practical insights on the consumer acceptance of new technology-converging services, but also help managers to plan their marketing strategies better.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of perceived medical service quality by outpatient on hospital image, satisfaction, and re-use intention in a general hospital. A total of 176 questionnaires were administered to outpatients who presented to a S general hospital in Daejeon. The results of this study are as follows. First, medical service quality had significant effects on re-use intention, satisfaction, and hospital image. Second, the mediating effect of satisfaction on the relationship between medical service quality and re-use intention was not significant but the mediating effect of hospital image on the relationship was significant. Third, satisfaction and hospital image had significant effects on re-use intention. Consequently, this study verified the influence of perceived medical service quality by outpatient on hospital image, satisfaction, and re-use intention in a general hospital. Further, considering that hospital image, rather than satisfaction, mediates the relationship between perceived medical service quality and re-use intention, it suggests that much more general satisfaction is required in the marketing activities of hospitals.

The technology acceptance model (TAM) was employed and a survey was conducted on 300 delivery application users. As a result, personal innovativeness was found to have a positive effect on perceived ease of use and perceived playfulness. Self-efficacy turned out to have a positive influence on perceived ease of use and perceived playfulness. Next, perceived ease of use was found to positively affect both perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness, and perceived usefulness and playfulness had a positive effect on the intention to use the service as well. Lastly, personal innovativeness and self-efficacy were found to have a significant indirect influence on the intention to use the service. This study suggests users can be induced to voluntarily and continuously use the service, if their personal characteristics and perception of the service are considered in the future development of the service.
