Impact of Work Value Perceived by Chinese Post-90s Employees on Their Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention (90년대생 중국 근로자가 인식하는 직업가치가 직무만족과 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Owing to COVID-19 pandemic and global recession, enterprises are facing more and more fierce competition. Under this situation, retaining as much as recruiting good employees has become a top priority for organization. However, post 90s, with very different characteristics from traditional workers, entered the labor market, and both employers and employees suffered from post-90's high turnover rate. Therefore, this study focuses on Chinese post-90s and examined the effects of work values they pursue (utilitarian orientation, interest congruence, long-term development, and innovativeness) on job satisfaction and turnover intention. In addition, the groups with less than or more than one year of service were compared and analyzed. A total of 267 Chinese workers born in the 90s participated in the survey. Our research findings show that utilitarian orientation affects both job satisfaction and turnover intention, but interest congruence only affects job satisfaction while innovation only affects turnover intention. And the moderating effect of tenure of service was partially verified. Various implications based on the result were discussed.

  • Recently, Universities's idea of employment are activity discussed. Especially, Service oriented departments' argument about the curriculum and the environment tests its accomplishment with value in employment. Therefore, this study has been done on the department of airline service which has representation of employment. This study determines the condition and the position of the department of airline services that it estimates the future service orientation in organizations placing education. It appeared that self-esteem affected Physical environment, and service effect quality as a company's loyalty. Accordingly, to improve self-esteem working staff in service should be improved. And other various measures education service quality, self-esteem, and company's loyalty should be taken as well.

  • The purpose of the research was to explore the factors which affect service innovation in organizations and how the utilization of resources can improve organizational performance, and gain a competitive advantage by adopting numerous innovative practices. This study hypothesizes Service Innovation Readiness (SIR) to consist of Strategic Alignment favoring Service Innovation (SASI) and Empowering Structure for Service Innovation (ESSI), which regulate the organization's preparedness to adopt service innovation changes. Six dimensions were identified and analyzed to understand their effects on SASI and ESSI. A structured questionnaire on a 5-point Likert scale was used to collect data from the selected hospitals of Saudi Arabia. The research results contribute considerably to the subject matter by theorizing SIR and the complex variable settings essential for embracing SI. This research also provides some understanding of the service innovation management dimension through a complete assessment that measures the organization's readiness and attempts to direct organizations' efforts to achieve and sustain competitive advantage. The study conducted is unique in the current geographic limits and has explored numerous SI areas of an organization's readiness to adopt service innovation.

The Effect of Interview with Scientist and Engineer on the Science Career Orientation and Image of Scientists (과학기술자와의 인터뷰가 과학 진로 지향 및 과학자 이미지에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of interview with a scientist and engineer on service performance assessment on science career orientation and image of scientists. Science track students in the 11th grade carried out the interviews and made powerpoint presentations. After the students' presentation in the chemistry class, the teacher made comments on the contents of the interviews. Students gave presentation in each class for a year. Before starting this assessment, students took science career orientation questionnaire and DAST (draw-a-scientist-test). These two tests were conducted again at the end of the year. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between pre- and post-test score for the science career orientation. However, a significant difference was observed in the 'preference for science learning' category. These results showed that the career decision of a high school student has already been fixed rigidly. On the other hand, there was a significant difference (p < 0.01) between pre- and post-test on the image of scientists. This demonstrated that the stereotypic image for a scientist was reduced by the interview performance assessment and that, students came to have an affirmative perception of scientists on service.

  • Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) and Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) are now in commercial service, tearing down the traditional boundaries between the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. These latest developments also hold important implications for research projects in related areas. Both telecommunications and broadcasting being fields with a strong service orientation, market demand should be the primary consideration when selecting research and development (R&D) projects in these areas. This study presents a process for selecting converged telecommunications-broadcasting technology development projects from a demand-oriented perspective, using criteria that are based on projected future demand characteristics. Aimed at increasing the efficiency of the R&D project selection process in telecommunications and broadcasting convergence, this study can point out new directions in R&D management in this field.

The Effect of Social Entrepreneurship on Market Orientation (사회적 기업가정신이 시장지향성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to empirically verify the effect of social entrepreneurship on market orientation. total of 500 questionnaires were distributed to workers in social enterprise and preliminary social enterprise. 202 questionnaires were used for final validation of research model, The hypotheses set in this study were validated through SPSS18.0 and LISREL8.3 based on the research model. The results showed that all hypotheses were accepted, except for 5 hypotheses(Hypothesis 1-1, Hypothesis 1-2, Hypothesis 1-3, Hypothesis 1-6, Hypothesis 1-9). First, we examined the effect that empathy might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results suggested that empathy did not have a statistically significant effect on customer-orientation, inter-department cooperation and coordination, and competitor orientation. Second, we examined the effect that innovativeness might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results showed that innovativeness had a positive(+) effect on customer-orientation and inter-department cooperation and coordination but did not have a statistically significant effect on competitor-orientation. Third, we examined the effect that risk-taking might have on market orientation in connection with social entrepreneurship. The results implied that risk-taking had a positive(+) effect on customer-orientation and inter-department cooperation and coordination but did not have a statistically significant effect on competitor-orientation. Finally, the relationship among market orientation variables was like this: The inter-department cooperation and coordination had a positive(+) effect on both customer-orientation and competitor-orientation. The results of this study are expected to provide a useful basis for overall understanding about the effect of social entrepreneurship on market orientation and present important theoretical and practical implications.

  • Marketing techniques developed for private organizations are being widely used in libraries. The primary focus in marketing has shifted to maximizing user perceived value from the perspective of library users. This paper examines library as an industry as a way to establish the basis for library's overall value, applies the R-I-R model and its taxonomy of value in using library and information services, and proposes market orientation approach to systematically plan and coordinate academic library marketing activities.

Store Evaluative Criteria, Clothing Evaluative Criteria, and Purchasing Behavior for Casual Wear according to Shopping Orientation of Chinese College Students (중국 대학생의 의복 쇼핑 성향에 따른 점포 평가 기준, 의복 평가 기준 및 캐쥬얼 의류 구매 행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the differences in store evaluative criteria, clothing evaluative criteria, and purchasing behavior for casual wear among groups with different types of shopping orientation. Data were collected from 175 female and 169 male college students living in Beijing, and analysed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANDVA, Duncan test, crosstabulation analysis, and frequency analysis. Chinese college students were classified into four groups by their shopping orientations; fashion-pursuit type, individuality-pursuit type, practical type, and apathetic type. Significant differences were found in store evaluative criteria, clothing evaluative criteria, purchasing behaviors, and demographic characteristics. The fashion-pursuit type and individuality-pursuit type were more influenced by store location and service, product attributes, and fashion. They purchased more frequently and spent more money. Esthetic clothing evaluative criteria were considered more important by the individuality-pursuit type than the others, and symbolic clothing evaluative criteria by the fashion-pursuit type.

Effect of the Customer Emotion to Salespersons in Service Encounter on Customer Evaluation and Behavioral intention (감정유형이 판매원에 대한 고객평가와 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the effect of customer emotions on customer evaluation and behavior intention. The subjects used in this study were customers of a fashion shop in Sunchon South Korea. The questionnaires were conveniently sampled from July 2010 to August, 2010. Questionnaire data from 335 customers of a national brand were analyzed through a reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, emotions of customer were divided into 2 patterns, positive emotion and negative emotion. Second positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the trust and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the trust. Third positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the customer orientation and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the customer orientation. Forth, the emotions of customer have a considerable impact on the interaction intention. And the positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the word-of-mouth intention and negative emotion have not a considerable impact on it. Fifth the positive emotion have significant (+) influences on the attitude toward store and repurchase intention, and negative emotion have significant (-) influences on the attitude toward store and repurchase intention.

Factors Influencing Global Expansion/Scalability of Small and Medium Enterprises: A Kenyan Case

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the factors influencing global expansion/scalability of Kenyan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Factor analysis and multiple/multivariate regression analysis to determine the functional relationship between independent variables (factors) and the dependent variable was used. The independent variables were: innovation & technology, fitness/appropriateness of management, global marketing strategy; and support environment and the dependent variable, global expansion/scalability. Data was collected from a survey of randomly selected firms of 205, drawn from a population of 440 firms from Kenya Manufacturers Directory, with 175 firms responding. The key findings from the research in relation to Kenyan SMEs were that: there is a functional relationship between global market strategy and global expansion; there is a functional relationship between innovation and technology orientation and global expansion, there is no significant functional relationship between supportive environment of firms and their global expansion; and there is no significant functional relationship between fitness/appropriateness of management and global expansion/scalability. The implications for practice is that the ranking of the factors in order of priority supports focusing concern on the orientation of business strategy toward global market strategy, market research geared at obtaining foreign market intelligence, innovation and technology, product adaptation, service orientation, collaborative ventures, and long-range vision as key factors in making Kenyan firms successful in the international market. The implication for policy and practice is that there is need for collaboration between industry and government in pursuing policies for global expansion/scalability and among SMEs and large enterprises particularly in areas of rapid technological change.
