In this work, we propose an analytic framework for dimensioning the link capacity of broadband access networks which provide universal broadband access services to a diverse kind of customers such as patient and impatient customers. The proposed framework takes into account the flow-level quality of service (QoS) of a connection as well as the packet-level QoS, via which a simple and systematic provisioning and operation of the network are provided. To that purpose, we first discuss the necessity of flow-aware network dimensioning by reviewing the networking technologies of the current and future access network. Next, we propose an analytic model for dimensioning the link capacity for an access node of broadband convergence networks which takes into account both the flow and packet level QoS requirements. By carrying out extensive numerical experiment for the proposed model assuming typical parameters that represent real network environment, the validity of the proposed method is assessed.

차세대 네트워크의 성공적인 추진을 위하여 트래픽 엔지니어링이 보장되는 중앙 집중형 제어 및 관리 기술이 네트워크 제어 플랫폼인 NCP(Network Control Platform)와 서비스 품질을 보장하는 스위치인 QSS(Quality of Service Switch)로 실현되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 NCP와 QSS 사이의 SNMP 인터페이스에서 고속의 연결 관리를 위하여 병렬형 기법과 쓰레드 및 객체 풀을 도입하였다. 연결 관리의 테스트-베드를 구축하여 본 논문에서 도입한 고속화 방안을 실험실 환경에서 확인하였으며, 연결 설정의 지연과 완료율을 측정하여 성능을 비교 및 분석하였다. NCP와 QSS 사이의 SNMP 인터페이스에서 연결 관리의 고속화를 위하여 병렬형 방식과 객체 풀의 사용이 중요한 성능 파라미터임을 확인하였다.

PC camera-based instant messenger have problems of video image break/delay and noise. The reason is caused by a composed problem that PC Camera is belong to the connected PC and operating in the PC. This research suggests an instant messenger that uses network camera connected to LAN instead of PC camera. Therefore, the instant messenger has a component that the camera is separated from PC. This research designs sequence diagram, video calls flow chart, and graphic user interface of the instant messenger. The instant messenger based on network camera provides high quality video calls service and makes it possible to call from a special remote site with real-time video image.

Purpose - This paper examines the major antecedents of customer loyalty for mobile operators in a developing country in Africa especially in Nigeria. This study tests 5 hypotheses about the relationships among service quality, customer satisfaction, trust, and customer loyalty. Research design and methodology - In order to collect the sample data, online survey was conducted via email and social media network. The samples were collected from 415 random respondents. The statistical analyses were done for both assessing the reliability and the validity and testing 5 hypotheses of this study. SPSS version 21 was used for empirical analysis. Results - Service quality has a significant effect on customer satisfaction and service quality has a significant effect on trust also. Customer satisfaction has a significant effect on trust and customer satisfaction has a significant effect on customer loyalty also. Trust has a significant effect on customer loyalty. All of 5 hypotheses were supported. Conclusions - The results of the study show that it is important for marketing managers to manage service quality, customer satisfaction, and trust for improving customer loyalty in mobile service industry. This study also provides some implications for mobile service managers about the importance of customer retention and customer loyalty.

In this paper, we propose methods for designing the Virtual Private Network (VPN) which guarantees a strict Quality of Service (QoS) over A TM networks. The required Quality of Service is a very strict Cell Loss Probability, and it is guaranteed by pro riding equivalent bandwidth which is computed so that the provided bandwidth is sufficient to guarantee that requirement. We consider two network architectures for constructing VPM, the customer pipe scheme and the Hose scheme, and we propose a method to compute the amount of the required bandwidth for the two schemes. Finally, we investigate the implication of the scheme via numerical experiments.

그리드는 지리적으로 분산된 다양한 컴퓨팅 자원을 초고속 네트워크로 연결하여 고속 연산과 대용량 데이터의 처리를 가능하게 하는 기술이다. 서비스 품질이 보장되는 그리드 환경의 작업 수행을 위해서 컴퓨팅 자원뿐만 아니라 네트워크 자원의 관리와 제어가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 네트워크 경로 및 자원의 생성과 예약을 지원하기 위하여 그리드 네트워크 자원의 정보 모델과 그리드 네트워크 서비스 인터페이스를 정의하였다. 그리드 네트워크 서비스 인터페이스에는 기존 GLIF의 자원 생성 및 예약 관련 메시지 이외에 그리드 네트워크 경로와 통보 메시지를 추가로 정의하였다. 또한, 두 단계 자원 예약 메커니즘을 지원하기 위하여 관련 상태와 메시지를 정의하였다. 그리드 네트워크 자원의 정보 모델과 그리드 네트워크 서비스 인터페이스를 이용하여 네트워크 자원 관리 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였으며, GMPLS 기반의 제어및 전달망을 갖는 그리드 환경에서 자원의 예약과 할당 및 해제를 실험하였다.

가상화 서비스는 데이터의 생성, 저장, 폐기 등의 모든 과정과 연산을 서버에서 처리하며, 클라이언트에게 스트리밍 미디어 형태로 전송한다. 따라서, 클라이언트는 단말의 타입에 구애받지 않고 기존 데스크톱 환경과 동일한 환경을 이용할 수 있다. 이러한 가상화 서비스의 사용자 체감 품질을 만족시키기 위해서는 영상 품질 이외에도 재생연속성과 재생지연한계를 고려해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 가상화 서비스의 QoS를 보장하기 위한 네트워크 상황에 적응적인 가상화 콘텐츠 전송 구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 가상화 콘텐츠 전송 구조는 네트워크의 가용 대역폭을 고려한 전송률 조절 기능과 송신 버퍼 상태를 고려한 콘텐츠 비트율 조절 기능이 있으며, 각 기능을 통해 가상화 콘텐츠의 재생지연한계와 가상화 콘텐츠의 재생 연속성을 보장한다. 실험을 통해 제안하는 가상화 콘텐츠 전송 구조가 패킷 손실률과 전송 지연 등의 측면에서 성능이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

Smart metering is one of the most implementable internet-of-thing service. In order to implement the smart metering, a wireless communication network should be newly designed and evaluated so as to satisfy quality-of-service of smart metering. In this paper, we consider a wireless network for the smart metering implemented with multi-purpose wireless chips and channel coding-functioned micro controllers. Especially, channel coding is newly adopted to improve successful frame transmission probability. Based on the successful frame transmission probability, average transmission delay and delay violation probability are analyzed. Using the analytical results, service coverage expansion is evaluated. Through the delay analysis, service feasibility can be verified. According to our results, channel coding needs not to be utilized to improve the delay performance if the smart metering service coverage is several tens of meters. However, if more coverage is required, chanel coding adoption definitely reduces the delay time and improve the service feasibility.

최근 들어 다양한 휴대 단말과 광대역 무선네트워크의 보급으로 인해 인터넷을 통한 다양한 멀티미디어 스트리밍 서비스에 상당한 관심과 수요가 증가하고 있다. 하지만, 단말 이동시 연속적인 멀티미디어 스트리밍 데이터 전송이 어려운 문제를 가지고 있다. 그래서, 광대역 무선네트워크내 Mobile IPTV 서비스 보급에 있어, 효율적인 무선 자원 활용 및 사용자에게 원활한 QoE (Quality of Experience)를 제공하는 것은 중요한 이슈이다. 본 논문에서는 무선 채널 상태를 인지하여 비디오의 전송률과 품질을 조절하는 네트워크 기반의 품질 적응 스트리밍 기법인 Mobile Adaptive Rate Control (MARC) 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 스트리밍 서비스의 품질 향상 이외에도 단말의 이동환경에서 끊김 없는 비디오 재생을 보장 할 수 있도록 무선 채널 상태를 인지하여 현재 무선 채널 및 단말 위치에 적합한 스트리밍 비디오를 전송한다. 제안한 MARC 기법은 광대역 무선 네트워크에서 비디오 재생의 불연속성을 제거하고 안정된 버퍼 할당을 보였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 제안한 방법의 유효성을 확인하였다.

To support Quality of Service (QoS) in the existing Internet, Differentiated Service (Diff-Serv) has been proposed. But, the unfairness between TCP connections remains as a serious problem not only in the conventional best-effort service Internet but also in new Diff-Serv network. In this paper, we propose the Balancing Marker Algorithm (BMA) improving the fairness between individual connections of aggregated sources in a Diff-Serv network. This algorithm is based on the 3-level priority marking method. We compared the 2-level packet priority marker with the Balancing Marker proposed in this paper. And we showed that the BMA improved the fairness and the throughputs between the individual connections with different delays in an aggregated source.
