  • Considerations for user-centric environments are regarded as essential for the successful deployment of convergence services in BcN. Event driven service (EDS) is regarded as a typical convergence service converging different functions of multiple service providers to support user-centric environments. This paper first describes the deployment model and service scenario of EDS, a convergence service for user-centric environments in BcN. The user-centric environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely unified identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided convergence services without awareness of multiple providers. Then the designed structure and implementation results are given.

  • The wide deployment of wireless access technologies and the integration of various access network interfaces into a single terminal, allows mobile end-users to be always connected to the IP network, and to use those interface simultaneously. In this paper the CTE provides various access network interfaces capabilities, allowing reception of data over multiple service providers with different characteristics. Considerations for multiple network and service provider environments are regarded as essential for the successful deployment of convergence services in Next Generation Network (NGN). Event Driven Service (EDS) is regarded as a typical convergence service converging different functions of multiple service providers. This paper first describes the deployment model of NGN convergence services for multiple service provider environments. It also covers the service scenario of EDS, a convergence service for multiple service provider environments in NGN. Multiple provider environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely ubiquitous identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided convergence services without awareness of multiple provides. Then the designed structure and procedures of U-ID based EDS are given. Finally, the implementation results tested on Korea Advanced Research Network (KOREN) are described.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop the indicator and scale for evaluating the service environments of archives and to assess the physical service environments of National Archives of Korea (NAK), and then to suggest the alternatives to improve the current service environments on the basis of the results of evaluation. To achieve the purpose, the study designed three research phases: first, to develop the indicator and scale to measure the current service environments by merging universal design indicators and various standards of NAK for establishing facilities and environments on the basis of the barrier-free authentication indicators; second, to evaluate the current service environments of NAK with the newly developed scale; finally to suggest alternatives to improve the current environments on the basis of the evaluation findings. The study found that current service environments of NAK have critical limits on the areas and facilities to provide direct archival information services to users such as reference service desks, showrooms, education rooms, seminar rooms, etc. On the basis of the results, the study suggested the alternatives and further studies for making barrier-free service environments of archives.

  • In recent years, motivated by the emergence of ubiquitous computing technologies, a new class of networked robots, ubiquitous robots, has been introduced. The Ubiquitous Robotic Companion (URC) is our conceptual vision of ubiquitous service robots that provide users with the services they need, anytime and anywhere in ubiquitous computing environments. To realize the vision of URC, one of the essential requirements for robotic systems is to support ubiquity of services: that is, a robot service must be always available even though there are changes in the service environments. Specifically robotic systems need to be automatically interoperable with sensors and devices in current service environments, rather than statically preprogrammed for them. In this paper, the design and implementation of a semantic-based ubiquitous robotic space (SemanticURS) is presented. SemanticURS enables automated integration of networked robots into ubiquitous computing environments exploiting Semantic Web Services and AI-based planning technologies.

  • This study is to consider the fundamental perceptions of pre-service elementary school teachers to natural environments. The recognition items of questionnaire for those environments include ones of water, atmospheric, soil, biologic and oceanic environments constituting of the earth system. From the results of the study, they affirmatively recognized biologic environment, but they showed highly negative recognitions to others. In other side, it is considered that their recognitions to natural environments were probably transferred by the things which involve press media, curricula and real lives. On the basis of the study results, systematic teaching-learning for natural environments is essential because the encouragement of eco-friendly attitude, one of main goal for environmental education, is budded from basic understandings to natural environments. Affirmatively environmental worldviews for elementary school students are important for reasons why teacher's quality and practice will is fundamental, and then teacher could change the views of the students for environmental education. So, preparing balanced attitudes, right concepts and connection to applicable knowledges for natural environments, pre-service elementary school teachers in environmental education must be pointed to organized education between human and natural environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the job satisfaction and organization commitment of employees according to the school food service environments. The questionnaire to measure was completed by 150 employees in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area. The demographic data showed that 48.7% of respondents were in their fifties and most of them were females(96.6%). They were employed in the middle and high schools. The results were as follows : Frist, factors that influenced job satisfaction were student preference and rule-observance. Second, the importance of school food service environments didn't influence the compensation factor for job satisfaction. Third, factors that influenced job satisfaction among school food service environments were kindliness and the management of employees and rule-observance. Rule-observance showed the highest satisfaction scores among the rest of them. Forth, it was concluded that the management of employees, food quality and student preference influenced the organization commitment of food service employees. The research results show that rule-observance of food service environments and the importance of managing employees have influence on co-worker relations, job and organization commitment.

  • In dynamic Web service environments, the performance of the Internet is unpredictable; the reliability and effectiveness of remote Web services are also unclear. Therefore, it can hardly be guaranteed that the quality of Web service (QoWS) attributes of Web services do not fluctuate with the dynamic Web service environments. When a composite service is planned in the context of dynamic service environments, there is another aspect which has not been taken into account by existing works, namely, concurrency - the fact that multiple requests to a composite service may arrive at the same time. Considering the dynamics of Web service environments and concurrency of requests, we propose in this paper a service selection scheme which adopts top-k dominating queries to generate a composition solution rather than only select the best composition solution for a given request. The experimental results have investigated the efficiency and effectiveness of our approach and shown that it outperforms baseline and traditional methods for service selection.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate if the three selected constructs that constitutes physical environments, service quality, and importance of menu affect college student satisfaction and the number of visit to coffee shop, respectively. Frequency, reliability, factor, and multiple regression analysis were employed for the study. Most of the created variables related to physical environments, service quality, and importance of menu were found to be significant relationships with overall satisfaction and the number of visit to coffee shop. Limitations of the study and assignments for future research were discussed.

  • Grid provides integral ing system that enables to use distributed computing resource and services as adapts traditional infrastructures to overcome the distributed computing environments. But, computing today is moving away from a restriction of the desktop, becoming diffused into our surrounding and onto our personal digital devices. In such mobile computing environments, users expects to access resource and services at any time from anywhere in such Mobile-Grid computing. This expectation results security issues, since the computing environments is expanded. This paper describes the security challenges in Mobile-Grid computing, explaining why traditional security mechanism fail to meet the demands of these environments. This paper describes policy driven security mechanism enabled entity to use service and data in trust Mobile-Grid environments and a set of security service module that need to be realized in the Mobile-Grid security architecture presents a set of use pattern that show hew these modules can be used for billing service in a secure Mobile-Grid environments.
