의료서비스 마케팅을 위한 품질지각과 만족에 관한 연구 (A Study on Qulity Perceptions and Satisfaction for Medical Service Marketing)

  • INSTRODUCTION Service quality is, unlike goods quality, an abstract and elusive constuct. Service quality and its requirements are not easily understood by consumers, and also present some critical research problems. However, quality is very important to marketers and consumers in that it has many strategic benefits in contributing to profitability of marketing activities and consumers' problem-solving activities. Moreover, despite the phenomenal growth of medical service sector, few researchers have attempted to define and model medical service quality. Especially, little research has focused on the evaluation of medical service quality and patient satisfaction from the perspectives of both the provider and the patient. As competition intensifies and patients are demanding higher quality of medical service, medical service quality and patient satisfaction has emerged as a critical research topic. The major purpose of this article is to explore the concept of medical service quality and its evaluation from both nurse and patient perspectives. This article attempts to achieve its purpose by (1)classfying critical service attibutes into threecategories(satisfiers, hygiene factors, and performance factors). (2)measuring the relative importance of need criteria, (3)evaluating SERVPERF model and SERVQUAL model in medical service sector, and (4)identifying the relationship between perceived quality and overall patient satisfaction. METHOD Data were gathered from a sample of 217 patients and 179 nurses in Seoul-area general hospitals. From the review of previous literature, 50 survey items representing various facets of the medical service quality were developed to form a questionnaire. A five-point scale ranging from "Strongly Agree"(5) to "Strongly Disagree"(1) accompanied each statement(expectation statements, perception statements, and importance statements). To measure overall satisfaction, a seven-point scale was used, ranging from "Very Satisfied"(7) to "Very Dissatisfied"(1) with no verbal labels for scale points 2 through 6 RESULTS In explaining the relationship between perceived performance and overall satisfaction, only 31 variables out of original 50 survey items were proven to be statistically significant. Hence, a penalty-reward analysis was performed on theses 31 critical attributes to find out 17 satisfiers, 8 hygiene factors, and 4 performance factors in patient perspective. The role(category) of each service quality attribute in relation to patient satisfaction was com pared across two groups, that is, patients and nurses. They were little overlapped, suggesting that two groups had different sets of 'perceived quality' attributes. Principal components factor analyses of the patients' and nurses' responses were performed to identify the underlying dimensions for the set of performance(experience) statements. 28 variables were analyzed by using a varimax rotation after deleting three obscure variables. The number of factors to be extracted was determined by evaluating the eigenvalue scores. Six factors wereextracted, accounting for 57.1% of the total variance. Reliability analysis was performed to refine the factors further. Using coefficient alpha, scores of .84 to .65 were obtained. Individual-item analysis indicated that all statements in each of the factors should remain. On 26 attributes of 31 critical service quality attributes, there were gaps between actual patient's importance of need criteria and nurse perceptions of them. Those critical attributes could be classified into four categories based on the relative importance of need criteria and perceived performance from the perspective of patient. This analysis is useful in developing strategic plans for performance improvement. (1) top priorities(high importance and low performance) (in this study)- more health-related information -accuracy in billing - quality of food - appointments at my convenience - information about tests and treatments - prompt service of business office -adequacy of accommodations(elevators, etc) (2) current strengths(high importance and high performance) (3)unnecessary strengths(low importance and high performance) (4) low priorities(low importance and low performance) While 26 service quality attributes of SERPERF model were significantly related to patient satisfation, only 13 attributes of SERVQUAL model were significantly related. This result suggested that only experience-based norms(SERVPERF model) were more appropriate than expectations to serve as a benchmark against which service experiences were compared(SERVQUAL model). However, it must be noted that the degree of association to overall satisfaction was not consistent. There were some gaps between nurse percetions and patient perception of medical service performance. From the patient's viewpoint, "personal likability", "technical skill/trust", and "cares about me" were most significant positioning factors that contributed patient satisfaction. DISCUSSION This study shows that there are inconsistencies between nurse perceptions and patient perceptions of medical service attributes. Also, for service quality improvement, it is most important for nurses to understand what satisfiers, hygiene factors, and performance factors are through two-way communications. Patient satisfaction should be measured, and problems identified should be resolved for survival in intense competitive market conditions. Hence, patient satisfaction monitoring is now becoming a standard marketing tool for healthcare providers and its role is expected to increase.

  • Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) is the service that provides ships navigating on a sea transportation route with guidance and advice about geographical environment and other attentive information for their safety. In this study we point out that currently, constructing additional VTSs is required to prevent ships from unexpected accident on their navigation. We first select several candidate locations for constructing VTSs, based on the amount of marine transportation and its potential development possibility. Then, we present an optimization model in which the maximum area coverage is achieved by determining new locations of VTS subject to budget limitation. The problem can be modeled as a binary integer program and it provides an optimal solution for new VTS locations to be constructed under the consideration of the currently located VTSs in Korea.

PCRM: Increasing POI Recommendation Accuracy in Location-Based Social Networks

  • Nowadays with the help of Location-Based Social Networks (LBSNs), users of Point-of-Interest (POI) recommendation service in LBSNs are able to publish their geo-tagged information and physical locations in the form of sign-ups and share their experiences with friends on POI, which can help users to explore new areas and discover new points-of-interest, and promote advertisers to push mobile ads to target users. POI recommendation service in LBSNs is attracting more and more attention from all over the world. Due to the sparsity of users' activity history data set and the aggregation characteristics of sign-in area, conventional recommendation algorithms usually suffer from low accuracy. To address this problem, this paper proposes a new recommendation algorithm based on a novel Preference-Content-Region Model (PCRM). In this new algorithm, three kinds of information, that is, user's preferences, content of the Point-of-Interest and region of the user's activity are considered, helping users obtain ideal recommendation service everywhere. We demonstrate that our algorithm is more effective than existing algorithms through extensive experiments based on an open Eventbrite data set.

Exploring Barriers Affecting e-Health Service Continuance Intention in India: From the Innovation Resistance Theory Stance

  • Although existing studies on e-health have usually focused on e-health services adoption intention, there is a dearth of studies on the barriers that affect e-health services retention intention especially in India. Additionally, although studies have mostly focused on utilizing expectation-confirmation model to understand innovation related barriers, innovation resistance theory (IRT) has been overlooked. As Indian e-health service providers face stiff challenges due to customer's unwillingness to continue using the service, there is a need to bridge the research gap that exists in this context. This mixed-method study, based on responses received from 289 participants and 1154 online negative reviews from e-Health providers in India, examines the barriers from the IRT stance. Results of this study reveal a notable negative association between tradition, value and financial barrier and intention to continue using e-health services. Additionally, continuance intention affects recommendation. The study concludes with various implications and scope for future research.

해양혼합층 모델 적용을 통한 고해상도 지역예측모델 성능개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of High Resolution Regional NWP by Applying Ocean Mixed Layer Model)

  • Ocean mixed layer (OML) depth affects diurnal cycle of sea surface temperature (SST) induced by change of solar radiation absorption and heat budget in ocean. The diurnal SST variation can lead to convection over the ocean, which can impact on localized precipitation both over coastal and inland. In this study, we investigate the OML characteristics affecting the diurnal cycle of SST for the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas. To analyze OML characteristics, HYCOM oceanic mixed layer depth (MLD) and wind field at 10 m from ERA-interim during 2008~2016 are used. In the winter, MLD is deeply formed when the strong wind field is located on perpendicular to continental slope over deep seafloor areas. Besides, cooling SST-induced vertical mixing in OML is reinforced by dry cold air originated from Siberia. The OML in summer is shallowly distributed about 20 m. In order to estimate the impact of OML model in high resolution NWP model, four experimental simulations are performed. At this time, the prognostic scheme of skin SST is applied in NWP to simulate diurnal SST. The simulation results show that CNTL (off-OML) overestimates diurnal cycle of SST, while EXPs (on-OML) indicate similar results to observations. The prediction performance for precipitation of EXPs shows improvement compared with CNTL over coastal as well as inland. This results suggest that the application of the OML model in summer season can contribute to improving the prediction for performance of SST and precipitation over coastal area and inland.

실시간 재배치를 통한 카쉐어링 서비스 최적화에 관한 연구 : PSO 방법론 기반으로 (The Optimization of One-way Car-Sharing Service by Dynamic Relocation : Based on PSO Algorithm)

  • Recently, owing to the development of ICT industry and wide spread of smart phone, the number of people who use car sharing service are increased rapidly. Currently two-way car sharing system with same rental and return locations are mainly operated since this system can be easily implemented and maintained. Currently the demand of one-way car sharing service has increase explosively. But this system have several obstacle in operation, especially, vehicle stock imbalance issues which invoke vehicle relocation. Hence in this study, we present an optimization approach to depot location and relocation policy in one-way car sharing systems. At first, we modelled as mixed-integer programming models whose objective is to maximize the profits of a car sharing organization considering all the revenues and costs involved and several constraints of relocation policy. And to solve this problem efficiently, we proposed a new method based on particle swarm optimization, which is one of powerful meta-heuristic method. The practical usefulness of the approach is illustrated with a case study involving satellite cities in Seoul Metrolitan Area including several candidate area where this kind systems have not been installed yet and already operating area. Our proposed approach produced plausible solutions with rapid computational time and a little deviation from optimal solution obtained by CPLEX Optimizer. Also we can find that particle swarm optimization method can be used as efficient method with various constraints. Hence based on this results, we can grasp a clear insight into the impact of depot location and relocation policy schemes on the profitability of such systems.

개인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스로의 전환의도에 관한 연구: 사회교환이론을 중심으로 (Understanding Individual's Switching Intentions to Cloud Computing Service: Based on the Social Exchange Theory)

  • 클라우드 컴퓨팅은 지속적 성장세를 보이고 있고, 개인 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스의 중요성이 확대되고 있다. 이러한 중요성에 견주어, 본 연구의 목적은 어떤 이유로 기존 컴퓨팅 환경에서 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경으로 전환을 하는 것인지, 또 어떤 요인들이 전환을 저해하는지에 대한 판단의 근거를 탐색하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 사회교환이론을 연구의 이론적 프레임워크로 하여, 지각된 가치와 전환의도와의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 기초로 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스의 특성요인을 도출하였고, 이러한 요인들이 지각된 가치를 매개로 전환의도에 영향을 주는지를 파악하는 연구모형을 설정하였다. 총 7개의 연구가설을 제안하였으며, 총 204개의 데이터를 SmartPLS를 통해 가설을 검증하였다. 검증결과, 제안한 7개의 가설 중, 5개의 가설이 지지되었다. 동기요인 중에서는 효율성과 경제성이 지각된 가치를 매개로 전환의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 저해요인 중에서는 전환 비용과 보안우려가 전환의도의 선행요인임을 규명하였다. 본 연구는 실무적 차원 혹은 조직관점에서 논의되어 온 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스를 개인 수준에서 접근하였다는데 의의가 있다. 또한 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스로의 전환의도를 동기요인과 저해요인의 이요인 관점에서 논의하였다는데 또 다른 의의를 갖고 있다.

서비스 디자인 개념에 기초한 복합형 서점 실내 디자인 연구 (A Study on Interior Design of Compound Bookstore Based on the Concept of Service Design)

  • '1+N'은 현재 복합형 서점의 경영 모드이다. 본 연구는 우선 고객의 기본적 상황과 수요를 조사하였고, 서점 내의 10가지 공간 중 고객의 4가지 기본적 행위를 검토하였다. 다음 서비스 디자인의 3가지 연구 도구와 실내 디자인의 3가지 디자인 요소를 상대적으로 대응하여 '복합형 서점 실내 디자인 기본 분석 프레임'을 수립하였다. 그리고 사례와 '복합형 서점 실내 디자인 기본 분석 프레임'과 결합하여, 고객과 서점이 상호작용하는 자세한 프로세스, 터치포인트와 실내 디자인 프로젝트를 찾아냈다. 디자인 맹점을 찾아 상응하는 해결책을 추출하고 이를 바탕으로, '서비스 디자인 개념에 기초한 복합형 서점 실내 디자인 연구 모델'을 제안하였다. 여기에는 복잡한 공간의 실내를 디자인할 때 주목해야할 요소 및 각 요소 간의 뚜렷한 연관성을 포함하고 있으며, 복합형 서점 실내 기능 구역의 디자인 내용과 서비스 품질검사, 디자인의 공백점을 찾을 수 있다.

클라우드 환경에서 웹 어플리케이션의 유지보수성 향상을 위한 N-계층 모델의 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study of Advanced N-Tier Model for Improving Maintainability of Web Applications in Cloud Environment)

  • 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 등장으로 인해 최근의 어플리케이션 개발자들은 외부 자원을 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 특히 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 기술 분류 중 서비스로서의 소프트웨어(Software as a Service, SaaS) 개념은 SOA, 매쉬업 등의 기술들과 결합하여 정보 자원 관리 패러다임을 변화시키고 있다. 개발자들은 웹에 공개된 API를 통해 고품질의 기능을 다양하게 제공받을 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되었다. 하지만 외부 컴퓨팅 자원은 서비스 제공자에 의해 통제된다. 관리적 측면을 고려할 때 외부 자원을 활용하는 어플리케이션의 이러한 문제는 관련된 컴포넌트의 불확실성을 증가시킨다. 클라우드 환경에서 외부 자원과 관련된 컴포넌트는 해당 기능을 제공하는 서비스 제공자에 의존함으로써 어플리케이션 유지보수성에 부정적인 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 웹 어플리케이션 아키텍처가 외부 자원을 안정적으로 활용함으로써 유지보수성을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해 기존의 N-계층 아키텍처에 외부 자원 계층을 추가한 N+1-계층 아키텍처를 제안한다. 그리고 외부 자원 계층의 추가가 웹어플리케이션 유지보수 복잡성의 감소와 유연성 및 변경가능성 등 유지보수성 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석한다.

공공도서관의 서비스품질이 이용자만족도와 충성도에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Public Library Service Quality on User Satisfaction and Loyalty)

  • 이 연구는 공공도서관의 서비스품질(인쇄형태 출판물과 인터넷 및 전자자원, 문화프로그램 및 서비스, 도서관시설 및 환경, 직원)이 공공도서관의 이용에 따른 전반적인 만족도 및 불평의도, 충성도(재이용의도포함)에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 대구지역 8개 공공도서관의 이용자 443명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 선행연구에 대한 분석을 통해 제시한 인과적 모델을 설문데이터를 바탕으로 경로분석(path analysis)을 이용하여 검증하였다. 분석결과 인쇄형태 출판물과 문화프로그램 및 서비스, 도서관시설 및 환경, 직원은 각각 이용자의 전반적인 만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 도서관시설 및 환경의 품질은 공공도서관 이용자의 만족도와 충성도에 광범위한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
