DC 마이크로그리드에서 에너지 저장장치를 위한 양방향 DC-DC컨버터의 무순단 절체 제어기법 (A Seamless Transfer Method of Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for ESS in DC Micro-grids)

  • In DC micro-grid system energy storage systems (ESS) are responsible for storing energy and balancing power. Also, control target of the bidirectional DC-DC converter(BDC) for ESS should be changed depending on the operating mode. During the grid connected mode, the BDC controls the battery current or voltage. When a grid fault occurs, the BDC should change the control target to regulate the DC-bus. The BDC with conventional control method may experience large transient state during the mode change. This paper proposes a control method of BDC for ESS. The proposed control method is able to provide autonomous and seamless mode transfer by a variable current limiter. To validate the proposed concept, simulation results using PSIM and experimental results from a 2kW prototype are provided.

Evaluation of Generator Reactive Power Pricing Through Optimal Voltage Control under Deregulation

  • This paper presents the evaluation of reactive power pricing through the control of generator voltages under the assumption that the reactive power market has been transformed into the real power market. By applying the concept of economic dispatch, which minimizes the total cost of real power generation to reactive power generation, the algorithm for implementing reactive power pricing is proposed to determine the optimum voltage profiles of generators. It consists of reactive power voltage equation, the objective function that minimizes the total cost of reactive power generation, and linear analysis of inequality constraints in relation to the load voltages. From this algorithm, the total cost of the reactive power generation can be yielded to the minimum value within network constraints as the range of load voltages. This may provide the fair and reasonable price information for reactive power generation in the deregulated electricity market. The proposed algorithm has been tested on the IEEE 14-bus system using MATLAB.

  • When a contingency occurs in a large transmission route in a power system, it can generate various instabilities that may lead to a power system blackout. In particular, transient instability in a power system needs to be immediately addressed, and preventive measures should be in place prior to fault occurrence. Measures to achieve transient stability include system reinforcement, power generation restriction, and generator tripping. Because the interpretation of transient stability is a time domain simulation, it is difficult to determine the efficacy of proposed countermeasures using only simple simulation results. Therefore, several methods to quantify transient stability have been introduced. Among them, the single machine equivalent (SIME) method based on the equal area criterion (EAC) can quantify the degree of instability by calculating the residual acceleration energy of a generator. However, method for generator tripping effect evaluation does not have been established. In this study, we propose a method to evaluate the effect of generator tripping on transient stability that is based on the SIME method. For this purpose, the measures that reflect generator tripping in the SIME calculation are reviewed. Simulation results obtained by applying the proposed method to the IEEE 39-bus system and KEPCO system are then presented.

Design of Public Transportation Route Guidance System for Wheelchair Users Utilizing Public Data of Seoul City

  • The purpose of this study is to design and test a new way of public transportation route guidance system for persons with disabilities, including wheelchair users. The guidance system is smartphone app-based, using, routes that involve disabled-friendly facilities in the vicinity can be searched. A database that contains publicly available data on low-floor bus services, location and extent of disabled-friendly facilities, and suitable subways and stations, was developed for this purpose. The app uses the database to access and query the required information. A pilot study was conducted to test the effectiveness of the guidance system. It was found that the system was able to convey information about the disabled-friendly routes and related guidance information even inside subway stations, effectively. The performance of the system was compared with route guidance services that do not explicitly use data on disabled-friendly services. A notable difference was observed in the travel time estimated by this program and other guidance services. The difference was around 4 to 15 minutes. This is significant savings for persons with disabilities if they use the app and service. The study thus shows that exclusive use of disabled-friendly data in route guidance will bring more benefits for persons with disabilities.

시스템사고로 본 건강도시화 정책이 지역주민의 걷기실천율에 미치는 영향 분석 (Effect Analysis of Healthy City Policies on Residents' Walking)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the effects of healthy city policies on residents' walking. In order to estimate promotion of walking rates by healthy cities policies, it developed System dynamics(SD)-based model which showed causal relationships among urban design, public health policies, and walking levels. SD technique is useful for future forecast and policy impact assessment. The spatial units of the SD-based system for policy impact assessment included 66 cities, counties, and communities in Seoul Metropolitan Area. The system simulation was planned to be run for 21 years from 2009 to 2030. For this study, 3 alternatives were proposed with combinations of length of bike lanes, number of bus routes, crime rates, self-reported good health status rates, and obesity rates. As a result of simulations, residents' participation rates for walking were increased from 1.00% to 9.98%. This study contributes to better understanding the benefits of healthy cities that are associated with individual walking. It further provided useful insights into planners' role in promoting health. The paper concluded with a discussion on future research opportunities and implications for public policies in urban and transportation and public health.

GIS 기반 Space Syntax를 이용한 대중교통 접근성 (Public Transport Network Connectivity using GIS-based Space Syntax)

  • 교통체증을 줄이고 접근성을 높이기 위해 국내 대도시들은 대중교통 위주의 정책에 중점을 두고 있다. 대중교통망을 개선하기 위해서는 적절한 접근성의 분석방법이 필요하게 된다. 기존의 접근성에 관한 연구들은 대부분 존(zone) 레벨에서 이루어진데 비해 본 연구에서는 버스루트나 정류장과 같이 세부레벨에서의 대안적인 접근성측정 방법을 제시한다. 시종점 경로를 구성하는 수단들의 최적의 조합을 산출하고 이들의 접근성을 토폴로지에 기반한 방법으로 측정한다. 시종점루트와 최적조합을 산출하는데에는 GA(유전자알고리즘)가 사용되었으며, 접근성 산출에는 space syntax 이론이 적용되었다. 본 연구에서는 일반적으로 수작업으로 그려지는 space syntax의 axial line 대신 GIS의 nodelink 데이터를 사용하였다. 최종적으로 산출된 접근성은 O-D 데이터를 이용하여 캘리브레이션하였으며, 서울 강남지역에 적용하여 예시하였다.

온라인 전기자동차의 상용화를 위한 인프라 구축비용 타당성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Validity of the Infrastructure Construction Cost for the Commercialization of Online Electric Vehicles)

  • 본 연구는 온라인 전기자동차를 상용화하기 위해 필요한 인프라 구축비용의 타당성을 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 서울시의 버스노선을 대상으로, 온라인 전기자동차 운영을 위해 필요한 인프라의 구축비용에 대해 연구하였다. 현재 전기자동차 운영방식의 대안으로는 OLEV 방식과 PEV 방식이 고려되고 있으며, 각 방식은 충전지 비용과 충전기 비용에서 각기 장점을 갖고 있다. 두 방식의 총비용을 비교하기 위해 본 논문에서는 온라인 전기버스의 급전장치 설치비용을 최소화하기 위한 급전 장치 최적 배치 모형을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 버스정류장에 서로 다른 길이의 급전장치를 설치할 경우의 총 설치비용을 최소화하는 혼합정수계획법(Mixed Integer Programming) 모형을 모델링하였다. 모형에서 사용하는 계수를 구하기 위해 각 버스정류장에서의 평균 정차시간을 구하는 시뮬레이터를 개발하였으며, 계산된 계수와 최적화모형을 이용하여 시내버스 노선 전체에 대하여 최적화된 인프라의 배치 개수와 위치를 결정할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하였다. 서울시의 실제 자료를 대상으로 OLEV 방식과 PEV 방식에서의 총비용을 계산하고 비교한 결과 OLEV 방식의 총 비용이 저렴하게 나타났으며, 결과적으로 OLEV 방식의 상용화 타당성을 입증할 수 있었다.

프로세스 네트워크 모델의 정적 분석에 기반을 둔 다중 프로세서 시스템 온 칩 설계 공간 탐색 (MPSoC Design Space Exploration Based on Static Analysis of Process Network Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중프로세서 시스템 온 칩 설계를 효율적으로 하기 위한 한 설계 방법론 및 환경을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 설계 환경은 SystemC로 작성된 프로세스 네트워크 모델을 입력으로 한다. 프로세스 네트워크 모델은 뛰어난 모델링 파워를 가지고 있지만 정적 분석이 불가능하기 때문에 시스템의 성능을 미리 예측하기가 힘들다는 단점이 있어서 실시간 시스템을 설계할 때 심각한 문제를 발생할 수도 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이를 보완하기 위해서 주어진 프로세스 네트워크 모델을 자동으로 정적 분석이 가능한 모델로 바꾸는 방법을 제시한다. 또한, 설계 과정에서 초기에 효율적인 설계 공간 탐색을 위해서는 애플리케이션을 어떻게 타켓 아키텍처에 잘 매핑할 지 결정하는 문제가 아주 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 효율적인 매핑을 할 수 있도록 하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 매핑 과정에서 정적 스케줄링 방법을 사용하여 시스템의 성능을 예측하게 되는데 본 논문에서 제시하는 알고리즘은 단일 버스 구조뿐만 아니라 다중 버스 구조에서도 성능 예측이 가능하도록 한다. 실험에서는 본 논문에서 제시한 방법으로 여러 멀티미디어 예제를 가지고 그들의 프로세스 네트워크 모델들이 성공적으로 정적 분석이 가능한 모델로 자동 변환됨을 보이고 이전 연구들과 비교하여 매핑 알고리즘의 효율성을 보인다.

시스템다이내믹스 기법을 이용한 건강도시화 정책의 사회적비용 절감효과 분석 (Applying System Dynamics Model to Estimate the Effects of Healthy City Policies on Reducing Social Cost)

  • The purpose of this paper is to estimate effects of healthy city policies on reducing social costs. The analyses were dune at the cities, counties, and communities levels in 2009, and covered Seoul Metropolitan Area(SMA). For estimation of reducing social costs, it developed a system dynamics(SD) model that analyzed causal relationships between physical inactivity rates, the number of deaths, medical expenses, and total social costs. Simulation period of SD was from 2009 to 2030. Three alternatives were proposed with combinations of length of bike lanes, number of bus routes, crime rates, self-reported good health status rates, and obesity rates. The total estimated cost of physical inactivities from 2009 to 2030 was 31.9 trillion won from the future forecast without policies. As a result of simulations with three alternatives, there were economic benefit approximately from 119.7 billion won to 1.16 trillion won. This study contributed to better understanding the economic benefits of healthy cities that were associated with design of built environment and physical activity. It also emphasized the importance of healthy cities planning as one of national welfare polices.

무효전력 경제급전을 고려한 345㎸ 송전계통의 기준 전압 설정 방법 (Determining the Reference Voltage of 345 kV Transmission System Considering Economic Dispatch of Reactive Power)

  • In the cost based pool market in Korea, there is no compensation of reactive power because the fuel cost for reactive power is relatively low compared to that of active power. However, the change of energy paradigm in the future, such as widespread integration of distributed renewable energy source, will prevent the system operator from mandating the reactive power supply without any compensation. Thus, in this study, we propose the reference voltage of the 345 kV transmission system that minimizes the reactive power supply. This is closely related to the economic dispatch of reactive power aiming at minimizing the compensation cost for the reactive power service. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed reference voltage, the simulations are performed using the IEEE 14 bus system and the KEPCO real networks. The simulation results show that a voltage lower than the current reference value is recommended to reduce the reactive power supply and also suggest that the current voltage specification for the 345 kV system needs to be reviewed.
